Sonically Superior Mic PreampsAll XENYX mixers have one thing in common – great-sounding, high headroom XENYX mic preamps. These state-of-the-art mic pres represent a major step in the evolution of audio technology – and they can easily hold their own, even when compared to the most expensive stand-alone mic preamps. XENYX preamps off er a staggering 130 dB of dynamic range, with a bandwidth that extends from below 10 Hz to well above 200 kHz. Armed with these outstanding mic preamps, XENYX mixers provide such transparent, crystal-clear performance you just might think someone upgraded your mics while you weren’t looking. |
Studio-Quality Compressor – Stairway to HeavenOur studio-grade compressor is based on classic and famous studio equipment from the 70’s. This totally transparent and musical compressor design allows your full dynamic range to shine through until your signal reaches the compression threshold, which is indicated by the highly visible status LED. The compressor increases sustain and gently smoothens out signal peaks, which is especially handy when you’re laying down the funk, à la slap and pop – or hammering home your most-aggressive metal lines. The resulting output level lets you unleash powerful and impact-laden bass lines, while still sitting right where you need to be in the mix! |

Sublimely Musical British EQThe British consoles of the 1960s and ‘70s changed the sound of rock and roll – without them the British Invasion might not have happened. Those legendary mixing desks soon became the envy of engineers and producers all over the world. The channel EQ on our XENYX mixers is based on that very same circuitry, allowing you to imbue signals with incredible warmth and detailed musical character. Even when applied generously, these equalizers exhibit sweet forgiveness and superb audio quality. |
Built-in Digital Multi-FX ProcessorEquipped with our studio-grade 24-bit Multi-FX processor, the X2222USB gives you 16 mind-blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus and reverb. Time-based functions can be entered manually by pressing the Tap button in tempo with the music. Apply them to any channel, as well as to the monitors and main output. Of course, if you have treasured outboard gear you’ve grown attached to, the X2222USB lets you integrate them into the mix – bypassing the built-in FX processor. |
Special Features…The X2222USB comes equipped with channel Inserts for all mono channels for use with outboard FX. All channels feature 3 Aux Sends: 1 pre/post fader switchable for monitoring/FX applications; 1 post fader (for use either with the internal FX or as an external send); Clip LEDs; Mute, Main Mix and Subgroup routing switches, plus Solo and PFL functions. Additionally, you get 3 multi-functional stereo Aux Returns and 2 Subgroups with separate outputs, for even more routing flexibility. |

So many inputs! But some noiseYou’ve got 8 mic inputs with XLR or quarter-inch, channel inserts for those inputs – allowing you to route them out to separate effects processors and back – then 8 more inputs lined up as dual quarter-inch inputs for stereo or mono via the left channel. The 6 mic inputs have a gain knob for the pre-amp and a built-in compressor knob. All inputs have a level adjustment pad for +4db or -10db. Along with a 3-band EQ.Flexible output options are available, as well. You’ve got your standard phones output up top, then on the back you have Main Outputs available in XLR and Quarter-inch, sub-mix output via quarter inch, and a “Control Room Out” via quarter-inch.This is a 2-bus mixer, meaning you have a main mix and a sub-mix. I use this HEAVILY for streaming and inspired my primary interest in learning audio mixing for streams and information that I regularly use to this day.For each input’s fader, you have 3 switches – Solo, Sub, and Main. “Solo” sends the signal to what is essentially a “soft mix” of sorts – it only goes to the headphones and control room out for you to hear. If you want to hear and monitor a source, “Solo” needs turned on for it. “Sub” and “Main” are for the sub-mix and main mix, respectively. I utilize this to create a main mix of all of my input sources together – something I don’t use all that often anymore – and a sub-mix with just my microphone inputs. I use this sub mix as my primary input in Windows. This way, I have a clean, microphone-only input to my PC that I can record and send to VOIP apps like Discord, Skype, etc. without the people I’m chatting with hearing an echo of themselves. Then, if I need a full mix-down for live streams, I have that running in, as well – though I mainly just mix to headphones for me to hear and capture main mix sources in software anyway. The FX slider also allows you to map which tracks it plays to, and then you can turn up FX levels per device. So I have FX set to only apply to my microphone devices – so when I unmute FX, my mic has the effects applied. The built-in 24-bit effects mainly include reverb and chorus-style effects.Lastly, of course, this mixer has USB output, buuuuuut I have honestly found that feature to be all but useless. It uses generic ASIO4ALL drivers, only sends the main stereo mix to the PC, and overall was just way too quiet to be usable. In my original testing, even clipping the main mix would be like -40db input to the PC, and then amplifying it up brought crazy noise floor with it. No thank you. Plus USB audio just sucks anyway.

Replacing Allen and Heath which had a crackle in one channel since we got it several years ago.Bought this for church which is on a budget. Very pleasantly surprised. Easy to set up. Seems to work well and sound is good. Actually better than or at least equal to the Allen and Heath it is replacing.

Value, more versitile than reviews say.Like many people I was hoping this would send out each track to a DAW via the USB. It only sends a stereo mix. YET, it will send out the main 8 XLR tracks out individually via the insert port on the back of the console. If you have a multi input sound card just connect a 1/4 inch cable to the insert and use the “ring tip”. This means you put the cable in but not all the way, until you hear a click. Then it will send that individual track to a waiting recording device, sound card with multiple inputs for tracks. Overall the sound quality is 4 out of 5 for this price range, and if you have good mics and know what you’re doing with sound engineering, then this is a great mixer for the price. The other reviews tell you everything else you need to know. I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in cause many people have said individual track out was impossible. Because it is possible, plus the other functions of the board make this something decent when you’re on a budget.

knowledge of smaller mixers and a general idea what’s going on cause its not in laymen’s terms.I love it. it came in great shape and very fast which is remarkable considering the pandemic going on. very satisfied. and just cause its Behringer doesn’t mean its crap. yea I get it, not everything is gold but their mixers are pretty alright. I’ve never had a problem. its has built in effects which is a plus with a lot of people but for people like me there’s inserts on every XLR channel plus the normal effects loop stuff. oh and it has a lot of options to do with everything. u could even take the insert pre or post and a bunch of other cool options. they has slightly smaller models than this and if this price is too high there’s cheaper versions with less cool things but even the smaller models has inserts for at least 4 XLR inputs. must get or at least consider. its not a Mackie but that’ll be one day. im happy with this for now.

This excellent, feature-rich mixer is perfect for Zoom concerts.A lot of reviews of this mixer lament the fact that the USB output is only two-track stereo. I consider this a feature, not a bug. Online video conference software like Zoom only allow for 2-track inputs. When using Zoom for music performance with more than two tracks you WANT the output to be only stereo, otherwise you’d have to pre-mix the the sound anyway. There are plenty of options for multi-track recording — I have Behringer’s UMC1820 and an Ultragain for 16-track recording, but when doing online performances I always had to mix the 4 or 5 tracks before the A/D interface and output only two. Now I can easily run 8 XLR channels at the same time into Zoom with just this one mixer.

The X222USB more than meets my expectations.I am replacing an 8 year old Behringer PMP2000, and look forward to getting some time on the X2222USB mixer. I will use it for recording, band rehearsals and for indoor and out door venues.First thing I noticed is how quiet the X2222USB is, which might have something to do with having an external power amp, but it really sounds good. The pads and sliders all feel good and the overall layout is easy to navigate. I imagine it will sound even sweeter with an outboard EQ, but no complaints so far. Only drawback is using AUX sends for monitors, which is taking some re-thinking. The playback volume CD player and headphone volumes are a bit confusing and the manual is vague on these controls but they all sound really good when the correct sequence of buttons are pushed. The USB feature allows for or 2 channel live recording but I am using a ZOOM R16 for 8 channel recording but it is very useful for live demos or capturing song ideas. I do wish there was a better manual to understand the switches and pads, but I am working through all of this and so far the X2222USB mixer more than meets my expectations.

Great for bands, not for karaoke!Great for bands, not for karaoke! I recently made this purchase while my 12 channel board was in the shop. I saw it had all the features of the other board plus the added bonus of being rack mountable. The price was about the same I paid for the 12 channel just a few months before. Since I have been using it I have had nothing but compliments on the sound quality. Not sure why but it does an excellent job without the need for an equalizer. Now the drawback, and it’s pretty big for the karaoke industry. I made the jump to usb inputs years ago and found much more reliability than the conventional earphone plug method. Those cords wouldn’t last ending in some awful crackling and beating up my speakers. Every board I’ve owned (5 to date) with usb inputs had a separate volume control on the board itself. Blending in with the other controls it’s just natural to control everything from the board. THIS BOARD DOESN’T HAVE A VOLUME CONTROL FOR THE USB INPUT! Dear engineers, why wouldn’t you? Defeats the whole purpose from my use and ultimately the reason for my purchase. Now it’s my warning to other karaoke dj”s not to purchase this otherwise outstanding board. I have to go back to a board I can’t rack mount but can control the volume, or use the one I can mount but have to plug into the headphone jack… It’s like the bmw engineers who put in the absolute worst cup holders in a $50k car. You have an excellent product but you decide to forgo a simple knob? Terrible, shameful… Anyway like I said the quality is the best for all other applications except karaoke. DEFINITELY A 5 STAR FOR ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS!

USB RECORDINGI needed a mixer for USB recording for my home studio. In the past, I have purchased a lot of Behringer mixers from 2 inputs to 24 inputs for live and studio. This USB feature is perfect for home studio recordings.I have also purchase precious which was more costly, but this mixer does that as good for my needs at a great price. The only thing I wish it had more than just two recordings at once. But for the price, it is okay.I plan to order an interface from Behringer with 18 inputs and 20 outputs and run the playback through this mixer.
