Makes filming easy
I bought this teleprompter at the suggestion of my work’s videographer. This teleprompter fits on almost every camera. It’s easy to put together and stores great in the carrying case. It makes filming our company updates much quicker!

Excellent Product!
I own the Glide Gear prompter for laptops and the TMP 100 and this one adds significantly to my collection. It is big enough to hold my iPad pro which provides me with the ability to do Zoom meetings.

Great budget friendly, good quality entry into Teleprompters
All aluminum construction makes this unit a win for entry level teleprompter users. We make small technical training videos in my department and its always been a struggle to get the speaker to stay on topic and use exact verbiage when it comes to the technically sensitive material being presented. This is the ticket!Takes a little adjusting to get everything set right for your specific camera but overall assembly was easy and straight forward. Any one that is familiar with photo / video gear should have no problems,I’m using a 12.9″ Ipad pro with the PromptSmart App which I highly recommend as well. The only complaint I have is the plastic case that in comes in is very flimsy and the latches are poor quality. They won’t stay latched so don’t trust the case. I didn’t need or purchase for the case so it wasn’t a problem for me.

Fiddly but does the job
This is a bit too big for a YouTuber or for doing a Zoom meeting at your breakfast table, but perfect for the kind of small/location studio broadcasting I do with a host from 6-8 feet away. Because the printed instructions aren’t written or illustrated very well, it’s very fiddly to set up the first time but becomes easier after you’ve done it once or twice. I paired it with a Lilliput A12 field monitor, which is about the same weight and size as an iPad Pro 12.9 (actually with slightly smaller viewable area after correcting for crop), but with the benefit of adjusting to the necessary mirror reversal.Don’t rush through the setup even once you know how to do it, because the large glass is cumbersome and fragile. It’s advisable to have a quality, sturdy tripod to mount the teleprompter on. I’m not a fan of some other minor things such as the zippers closing the sides of the shade, but overall the device is very good for making adjustments of fit to your monitor and camera.People aren’t kidding about the case. The case itself is solid and not trash, but its inexplicably weak clasps don’t snap and lock tight enough for anything but putting on a shelf and taking it down. I certainly wouldn’t send it through baggage check without strapping or taping it more securely (but even so, who knows how TSA or customs would leave it if they decided to open it up out of your sight?). So get a better case for it if you need to travel hard.PROS:– Good build quality for the teleprompter itself.– Easily adjustable.– Extra rails and clamps for accessories.CONS:– Poor instructions make first-time setup tricky.– Weakly-clasped case has limited usefulness.– Zippers on sides of shade are fiddly.

Excellent for On-line speaker and trainer
I’ve seen quite a few on-line teachers, trainers endorsing Glide Gear, so I gave it a shot. Very pleased with the quality of the product.

Well worth the price but not without its flaws.
I took a bit of a calculated risk ordering this teleprompter considering other reviews, but overall it seems pretty good so far. I mounted our (~4Kg) Blackmagic 6K Pro + DZO Pictor Zoom in its rig and it’s a bit wobbly on the provided mounting solution. I think a redesign is needed for heavier rigs & pro gear unless you’ve got a heap of rigging options at your disposal to use instead of the supplied hardware. I feel like lightweight mirrorless setups won’t have any issues.PROS:Glass quality seems excellent. Hood is a snug fit, long rails a welcome sight. Tablet mounting on rails is such a good idea and is so simple. Fits literally any size of tablet. Overall the materials are solid and well-made, with a few flaws.CONS:The tripod baseplate is very short and could benefit from being twice as long. This isn’t a good start for balancing heavy setups. The rails feel a little cheap and do tend to bend slightly, resulting in more camera wobble. The height-adjustable sections are held up only by two thumb screws which is the third weak point. Lastly, the weakest part is the camera mounting plate, which only has one 1/4″ thumb screw and its hard to access. It needs constant tightening.CONCLUSION:However, considering this isn’t going into the field and only being used in a locked-off studio setup, the slight wobble won’t really be an issue. I have tested panning and tilting and there’s no danger of the rig coming loose. We’re using the app ‘Prompt Smart Pro’ on a regular iPad and it’s working really well. The glass also suits a ~13″ iPad Pro very comfortably.

Good Quality
This is a well built unit, the materials are strong and the glass is great. I got the 17″ version and it holds a 17″ screen lengthways comfortably. You do need pliers to adjust the thumb screws that hold the glass at an angle or it will slide down on it’s weight. I was apprehensive of adjusting the thumb screw with pliers, but customer service was quick to reply and get me on the right track. The 2 screws holding up the glass are the only ones that need pliers, the rest adjust fine with simple thumb pressure. The carrying case is good enough, it’s not a tank like the Pelican cases, but it’s more than adequate and it’s padded properly for its purpose.

What were they thinking?
Loses a huge two stars due to an amazing fail with the camera attaching screw (YES, singular). All the way to the camera interface, this is pretty impressive for the price point, BUT when it comes to attaching the camera to the plate, the **single**, knurled knob that we are given to attach our camera is wholly, totally inadequate, spectacularly poor. ‘Inadequate’ doesn’t come close. All there is showing above the plate is maybe two thread widths. And this has to secure a camera that could well cost thousand. What on earth were Glide Gear thinking? This has to go to work tomorrow so there’s nothing I can do now, but I will be re engineering this in order to get the camera securely fixed on the plate. Seriously, this just needs the standard 1/4 and 3/8th style options given on most camera bases, with adequate space between the head and thread so that TWO screws could slide easily and give a reasonable amount of thread to secure our precious cameras effectively..Try again, Glide Gear, it’s a fantastic bit of kit let down dreadfully by a catastrophic, easily fixed engineering fail.
