I’ve returned this micI think this mic may be good for most people, its .8 capsule picks up sound great of the sound sources i’ve tested the mic on, the only reason I returned it though are because its frequency response doesn’t do my sibilant voice any good, the boost in the higher frequencies makes my ess’s sound too sharp, so if you have a sibilant voice you might want to try another mic

Best drum overhead micsThis is a fantastic microphone. I mainly using them as my overhead mics for my drums. They pick up the entire kit beautifully. If your looking for a easy plug and play mic for overheads look no further.

Great mic at the pricepoint. The first thing that struck me when first opening up the Audio-Technica AT2035 is the build quality. It feels simultaneously sturdy and compact, compared to the Blue Yetis that I’ve used before it, and would call them the main competition in the pricepoint and for the use-cases you would use these sorts of mics for.The sound quality is just as good as a similar Yeti mic, but I would argue that the mic’s physical design is better than any of Yeti’s pill-like designs, and its also much smaller and lighter, which means whatever sort of arm or stand you’re hooking it up to will have less of an issue holding it. Because it has a metal frame wrapped around its grating, if you drop it, it will likely protect the metal filter from denting. I would just call its build a more concise bit of technology versus something like a Yeti which just seems to be built like it’s built for a more iconic look, rather than being built to be sturdy and easy to use in a recording or streaming situation. I got the kit with the shock mount, which I recommend if you can find it in a bundle, this mic was built for it with its perfectly cylindrical housing.Great product for the 120-150 price range, XLR is an improvement in both quality and sturdiness over a USB mic, making the AT2035 the perfect upgrade mic for someone who is looking to upgrade from their headset to something more serious without breaking the bank.

Good sound for good valueI got this at a discounted price and I find the sound quality for my use case (work calls, voice over) acceptable.

Great but not lastingMic has overall pretty competitive sound used it for music recording, however only lasted one year until the xlr input started glitching and doesn’t deliver a signal to the interface. Lasted exactly one year. Overall not durable

Good mic for the money, but please readI bought this a year ago and stored it because the setup it was gonna be a part of wasn’t ready yet. I got it ready just three weeks ago and installed the mic on it’s boom arm and connected it to the Focusrite audio interface via XLR. It worked GREAT!, awesome deep sound, when gaming, my friends told me I sounded crisp and clear, and I could have it 2 feet away from my face and it would pick up my sound(and some keyboard) with no issues. for the money I was really happy with it. Then, 3 weeks later, it died. Just like that, it gave up. not sure if my mic particularly was faulty or factory defective, but it only lasted 3 weeks for me. I won’t be buying another one of these because I don’t feel I can trust it anymore. I’ll give Shure or Razer a try.

Great proximity effect, wonderful directional capture, sensitivity potential A+I’ve had this mic for about 5 months now. It’s paired with my Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22. It requires phantom power by the way, and an XLR cable for those who are unfamiliar with non-USB microphones. So if you’re going to get it for your computer, you’ll need an XLR to USB interface, such as a mixer, or preamp, or that Blue Icicle thing. I bought this specifically because I was looking for a larger diaphragm microphone, with directional capture, and I simply trust Audio-Technica. The frequency range, the warmness it adds to my voice, and how natural my voice can sound given the right proximity and mic settings, makes me genuinely love this mic. You will absolutely need to adjust the settings of your preamp/mixer and OS mic sensitivity settings to get it to sound how you want. But when you do it sounds so damn good. I personally keep the mic under my chin, about six inches away from my mouth, pointed straight up. This keeps my breaths from going into the mic, plosives are almost nonexistant, and it captures a more natural frequency of my voice because its far enough away, but not so far away that I need to increase the sensitivity and catch more background noise. If you’re curious, I use Windows 10, in the sound settings my mic is set to 80, and my preamp is set to ~55%. I also use a compressor at a 15 ratio, -17dB, and a noise gate at around -40dB.I’m a bit picky with my mic audio so I’ve gone through many hours of research, test recordings, and tweaking to learn and get this mic working to its fullest capabilities. Generally speaking, no quality mic will sound its best, unless you know what you’re doing. With that said I really can’t recommend this mic to people who know nothing about basic audio setup/engineering, or people just looking for a plug and play mic. However if you’re willing to take the time to understand how audio works, or you already understand and you’re looking for a nicer mic than what you currently have (me before getting this one) I can absolutely recommend this one

Fantastic microphone, especially for the price I got it for!I lucked out when I bought this microphone, as it was only $70 and was practically new. And I can honestly say, it was worth every penny, and then some.First things first, as this IS a condenser microphone, you HAVE to give the room you plan to record in proper treatment. Otherwise it WILL pick up a lot of reverb and background noise. I have actually surrounded the microphone itself with studio foam inside of a cardboard box. It’s not the prettiest sight, but it was inexpensive and works just as well as the upwards $100 screens they sell for these.Another thing to remember is to buy a proper interface for this. Especially if you are recording on a PC. I suggest using a Line 6 Pod Studio UX1, I managed to find one of those on eBay for about $45. It has an excellent noise gate with it that filters out the background noise in real time, without giving the vocals that robotic sound that noise removal in post tends to leave. Please note, the UX1 does not supply phantom power, so you will need a phantom power supply. I use a Behringer Micro power supply P5400 with it ($20). You will also need to buy at least two XLR cables, one for the power supply, and one to connect to the interface, but you can find some decent ones around $7 -$14, so that is no big deal.As for the sound quality, it is PHENOMENAL. Every syllable comes out clearly, and distinctly. Subtle nuances in tone that some lesser mics tend leave out are crystal clear, and, best of all, it can handle high vocals without peaking as easily like my other microphones did. I managed to go to ear piercingly high pitches, and still managed to keep it from peaking. If you want high quality, professional sound, and don’t feel like spending over $300, this is definitely the microphone to get.

Great build and sound qualityFor some context, Im a computer engineer, gamer, and streamer.I wanted to make an upgrade from a usb mic, and had heard good things about audio technic, so I wanted to see if it was true. I was very impressed with what I got from the 2035.whats in the box:1x 20351x microphone holder1x leather carrying case1x adapter for standI simply connected the microphone to my audio interface via an XLR cable, and i was ready to go without any drivers at all.The build quality was very nice, the microphone is brushed black metal so it feels nice and study and it wont break if you drop it.The sound quality was stellar. Using this mic with obs ensured that I had zero background noise and my voice was nice and clear. People on my stream said it was a big improvement over my last mic.Very satisfied and i will be reccomending this to friends.A few things to keep in mind: its XLR, not usb, and you need a48 power supply for it, this is usually from an audio interface.
