Mounts to a rack well with no directions per sayI received this unit yesterday and installed it right away. It mounted to my rack easily and has an industrial feel to it. The receptacles are very loose and don’t hold the cords very well. Any movement will dislodge them. The LED’s on the front to my knowledge serve no purpose what so ever other then to annoy me. They are all lit up whether something is plugged into that specific outlet or not. They glow bright red. No way to turn them off or know what they are supposed to do. The directions are written in changlish. And also are useless. It does not come with rack mounting screws which was to be expected. I am hoping this does a good job of surge suppression as this was my main purpose for acquiring this. There is mention of temperature monitoring but who knows how you would see that or set it. Again, the directions/manual leaves much to be desired. You would think the lights on the front would serve some purpose, like only light on the outlets that have a cord plugged into them. I have not tried the USB outlet on the front yet. It is nice that it has two outlets up front. This should add some convenience when using extra devices and not having to move out equipment just to plug something in. Overall my recommendation would be a maybe would buy again and or not.

Best bang for the buck! Can’t beat it for the price. Works as wellAs the high dollar ones. Simple operation with no frills.

Be careful with power cableVery good product but I had to return the first one I received because the power cable came loose from the plug exposing the wiring. No hassle in replacing the unit. Very satisfied.

A bizarre piece of equipmentUnlike most reviewers, I actually opened this thing up.Let me get one thing out of the way: There is NO surge suppression, spike protection, power conditioning, or ANYTHING between the input and output that would effect the quality of the power. The input power cable connects to bus bars that go directly to the plugs (neutral) and via relays (live). That’s literally it.There is also no overcurrent protection. Not a fuse, not a circuit breaker. Nada.Right away it struck me as strange that the supply cord for this unit is 10awg, but it has a NEMA 5-15P plug. So it would seem at the surface that they spec’d this for high current, as a 10awg cable would be rated for 30A. Though the plug is simply rated for 15A (or 20A as most branch circuits nowadays are rated for that.)What’s extremely strange is that despite the manufacturer going the extra mile with the heavy duty input power cable, the front panel receptacles are connected by 18awg wire to the rear bus bars (“bars” is a bit of an exaggeration — they’re thick traces on a circuit board). Though 18awg is suitable for chassis wiring up to 16A, it’s still a bit of a hazard if this were connected to a common 20A branch circuit. The specs are also confusing. As this listing is intended for sale in the North American market (due to the NEMA plug), it would operate at 120V. However the description confusingly says both “13A” and “2000W”. 13A at 120V is 1560W. 2000W at 120V would be just under 17A. It can’t be both. (OK, technically it can if you’re running loads with an awful power factor and the VA measurement disagrees with the W measurement. However, since this thing is just straight wiring from plug to receptacle, ampacity is really the only important factor.)The USB port is a joke. It was outputting a solid and respectable 4.98V under no load. However, at just 100mA the Voltage sagged to ~4.7V. At 200mA it went down to ~4.5V. It was fairly linear, and at 700mA the entire unit shut down. So the USB port would be suitable to charge VERY low current devices (e.g. not a cell phone or tablet), and could maybe light a small USB gooseneck LED fixture. Maybe. (To be fair, in the fine print it does describe it as a 200mA port, but 4.5V is still a bit low at that current.)As for the good? Well, it does what it says. It sequences the rear receptacles on one at a time with a satisfying click of a relay each. The chassis is made of heavier steel than I would have expected. The chassis is also bonded to ground, and all the receptacles are properly grounded as well. The voltage display on the front was accurate. But this gets one star for the horrible misrepresentation as a power conditioner with surge/spike protection. Again, it has NONE. The manufacturer’s own site makes those same representations, so it’s not like the Amazon listing is in error. If you were to scroll down, the product description also says “Relay: 30A, 277V AC”. The relays in mine were rated 240V 30A according to the printing on them. It also confusingly says “Max power: 2000 Watt outlet (6000 watt unit)”. I’m not even sure what that means. If the product description were honest or made any sense at all, I’d probably give this 4 stars. It would still lose one for the awful USB port and some of the borderline soldering internally.

An absolute must for any live show!!!I’ve been using Pyle power conditioners for many years. I have these in all of my PA racks for live gigs. Exceptional performance show after show!!

Great features, better price!I was looking for a power conditioner for my new studio rack setup, and for features this guy has the price couldn’t be beat. It works perfectly, looks great in the rack and I love that I have 2 additional outlets on the front and a 5v usb charger port. Great for letting visitors/clients charge their devices while we work while also keeping their charging cable off my desk and out of the way. Love this thing. Def recommend it.

Quality concerns and caution for those to want to rackmountThe device just ‘feels’ like lower quality. I loved the idea of the power sequencing as this is for home audio recording gear but it just feels ‘clunky’. As some mentioned, the LED’s on the front are pointless and the part that secures the main power cable (that runs inside the unit) was loose and I could wiggle it around. No way to tighten it except if you take the unit apart (which I did not do). So, to miss such an obvious thing in the quality control process….makes you wonder what else was missed. Now, if you want to rackmount this device (which I did), it is slightly bigger than 1U, so I could not fit it in the last remaining slot in my case. Will be a problem if your rack is full as there will need to be a gap between it and any other device. At the end of the day, loved the features it was offering but my confidence was low in the quality. Wound up buying from a more established name in the audio recording industry and am quite happy with quality and it fit right in my case.

Not a conditioner as advertisedThis item was advertised as a power conditioner but it’s only really a fancy power bar..I cant recommend this product as a power conditioner..
