It works according to advertise. For the price, you can’t get a better quality sound and build.Only cons is you can hear sounds when the wire is hit or swipe your shirt.

Very good pick up of sound
Very good microphones, easily pluggable into phone. You might need an adapter but that’s minor. Picks up voice quality nicely, I used it in the London Underground (the best worst place in Europe) and it could pick up my voice perfectly whilst also reducing the sound of death during the underground.Very good for its price. Easily concealable.Vibe – 4/5

Good to have in the arsenal!
I’ve been using condenser/dynamic microphones for years, so when I had to take my business online to meet with my clients remotely over video conferencing, it became a bit of a pain to be using my studio microphones all the time, and plus if I needed to move, I’d have to lift the mic and bring it with me. Too bulky, too much work.So I decided to get a lavalier microphone, and didn’t mind it being corded to at least get started. This was a great investment! I ordered this and one other brand, and I much preferred the sound of this one. The other one had too much high frequency – this Youmic one was much more balanced. The tone is good! If you are able to process it through some EQs and mastering gear, you can definitely tighten it up to get a professional-grade sound. I use it uneffected most of the time and it still sounds good!It is quite sensitive – which is nice because you can speak comfortably without having to worry about being heard – but that means you just need to keep the input volume down so it doesn’t peak, otherwise you’re in for a world of clipping. Better that than the opposite, though. My ONLY complaint is that it is (so far to me) IMPOSSIBLE to get it to work with any professional I/O gear. I tried using it directly with my MOTU 896mk3 and with a Line6 POD HD3 Pro using both 1/4″ and XLR adapters, but nothing seemed to work. Tried using the lavalier’s included TRRS–>TRS adapter, converting to stereo and mono for both 1/4″ and XLR, and it never picked up nearly enough.Thankfully it works (as TRRS) in the headphone jack of my old iMac, and I have software to consolidate inputs from several sources so I can combine it with my professional sound gear, but it is quite a pain to not be able to plug it in along with my other gear so they’re all running on the same clock – not to mention the ability to add pre-EQ and pre-FX.But – considering I’m trying to save a few hundred dollars by going this route rather than buying XLR-based wireless transmitters, for the ~$20 I paid, it was a worthwhile investment and definitely a great microphone to have in the arsenal. If you’re planning on just doing straight V/O work and using a smartphone/tablet, then you’ll have no problems.
