Sounds great, simple functionality
This thing sounds great right out of the box. I am running it through a pair of Pioneer CS-99A speakers from the 70’s. Those are 15” subs. I went out on the front porch it sounded great for my neighbors too. I read reviews of fellas swapping out the tubes for better quality; I will probably try that, because if this gets any better I might cry. I’m happy so far. #audiophile

Not a bad little amp
Using it for my patio system

Great value. Excellent features.
The price is great for what you get. The fan is as loud as you should expect it to be. If the placement is right it won’t matter. The sound quality going into the 500w 4ohms Rocktower is fantastic. It gets loud and the beats are quite heavy no distortion. And mine has an optical audio input, not cable comes with it. The controls are simple. Set up is simple with the 12 AWG banana plug speaker cables I got. Likely this would be great at handling an entire home theater. I’m sure it has limitations, it’s not really meant for studio production, definitely see some potential though with the right peripherals.

Not a bad little amp, but it does have it’s flaws
I employ this hybrid amp to power up a set of top firing drivers, in an old, yet recently refitted set of BSR-DR1550 speaker cabinets. The system is tri-amplified, with the PVTA90 powering only the mids, (1″ PRV Audio horn midrange), and highs. (An Eminence APT50 1″ HF driver) Both in waveguide horns. The amp delivers an incredible amount of power, for a 25 watt per channel into 8 ohms, amplifier. (50 watts per channel, into a 4 ohm load) The drivers are both very efficient, so the amp does a terrific job with the 25 watts that it delivers to both speaker cabinets. The input controls are self explanatory on both the device and it’s remote. I like the various EQ options, and the individual control over both the Bass and the Treble. My only problem with it is, that when I employ the Bluetooth from my Android phones for Pandora or Spotify, that there is a noise or some type of interference being produced with the sound that’s being emitted. Not a deal breaker, but annoying. The other issue is, not knowing what vacuum tubes it employs. I’d like to tube roll with it, but can’t, because no one knows what tubes it employs. Not even Pyle, which I have even talked to corporate Pyle, and they have no clue. And, the one guy that claims he did figure it out, that commented about it here, tells us about every rolling donut he’s had to jump thru to find the actual tube’s names and numbers, but doesn’t bother to mention it in his critique. I’d like to get some mid century NOS tubes in this device to see if good quality tubes will enhance the sound even more. Still, it out classes my other two hybrid tube amps, and that’s enough for me. I’d certainly recommend it. The pictures listed, show it’s purpose for me. I did post a video online of it in action, but with a different set of speaker cabinets. I don’t have one posted of it with these, yet.

Muy buen sonido
Calidad de sonido de muy buen nivel y en conjunto con un buen par de bafles la fidelidad es superior. El punto malo es el ruido que hace el ventilador interno, es como un auto sabotaje

Grinding Fan – Hope You Can Translate Russian and Chinese to buy tubes, Optical Port Does Not Work
Like the unit, but finding USSR NOS tubes equivalent to a specification that only exists in the Chinese military was ludicrously time consuming and expensive compared to building my own power amplifier. Then there is the optical audio port – the unit produces no sound from IT. Blast! BAMBOOZLED!!!! I bought in on the predication I would be combining vacuum tubes and lasers, this doesn’t appear to be possible.Moever, the fan in it lasted about a week before it started making a horrible grinding noise, that I listened to for months before finally opening it to replace it (40 screws?). Of course, its a 50MM. Dropped some valvoline 10W30 in the bearing and I ordered a 40mm fan to hot glue over the heatsink. My amplifier came missing screws inside – the fan only had 3/4 screws installed, so when I put it back together I was missing a screw to put the fascia back on. Capacitors inside look to be cheapy cheapy cheap – so I’m sure itll blow up soon and require another rework. The bypass capacitor between the tube board and the chassis was also shorted out, which meant it was doing nothing. I’m guessing thats why it used to act so strange before I reworked it.Let me preface this by saying I bought the COPPER one before the price skyrocketed. That said: Beware!! The copper version IS NOT SHIPPING WITH 5654W tubes. Someone has combined all of their item pages together which is leading people to answers that aren’t even salient to the product they are considering. Some solid state customer service rep checked an electrical equivalency chart without checking to make sure the socket was the same. 5654W is Not compatible with this (copper version) product. How do I know? Because I tried to socket them, then read the data sheet. Electrically they are similar, which makes me think maybe it’s used in the black version of the amplifier – having some extra gain and such for the 2 tube model. For the copper version, the tube spec only exists in the Chinese military and is made by shuguang. To find something not made by shuguang I had to translate Chinese to English, then the English to Russian, and verify the datasheets and sockets were compatible, finally found NOS USSR. If you know what you are doing and are determined to make it happen, you can find them, but it would have been cheaper and easier to home build an amplifier with some triodes I already had on hand. Hahaha – oh well. At least its copper. Moreover, the optical audio port seems to go to nowhere. Not happy someone just put an optical input and didn’t hook it to anything. Got us to buy it though, didn’t it? Come on Pyle, you can design an optical interface.

bipolar transistor output stages
Cover page refers to this unit as a “4 vacuum tube power amp”. However, page 5 of owners manual under “amplifier chip” list 2SC5198 and 2SA1941 bipolar transistors. This means the tubes are part of the “preamp” or are just decoration?

Seriously heavy sound
I’ve only had it half a day, and the power of this thing got the police called. I’m satisfied…

Works Great… PYLE PVTA90
PYLE PVTA90 ReviewThe fan is too loud and muffles out the sound…. read on (5/5 anyway)Most budget tube amps come with a high rotation fan assuming the customer will place the unit in a sealed cabinet. That will prevent over heating and at the end of the day, returns to manufacturer. However, if a person is placing the amplifier in open air on a bookshelf stand, they can just open up the amp and gently tug on the 6.3 volt fan cable to disconnect it. (this is common with most budget tube amps)The built in digital pre-amp is quite nice, it allows the listener to adjust volume and EQ settings with a remote. “never leaving the couch ;)” (most high end tube amps such as the McIntosh MA352 don’t have a remote even, let alone adjustable EQ.) This PYLE amp has an EQ setting for nearly every sound mix… I’m an audiophile and my ears never strain while listening to this Amplifier.Bluetooth allows for DOLBY ATMOS to be sent to the device via compatible iPhone or Chromecast.Who can say they’ve listened to DOLBY ATMOS through a vacuum tube? not many people… ;)The coax and optical inputs only take PCM format as expected. (so be sure to switch your devices output setting if you don’t hear anything)Haven’t used the sub-woofer output yet, but I’m sure it works fine. Also haven’t tested the MP3 player either.Cons: PYLE used a never ending potentiometer with a white dot for some reason, why a white dot pyle?

Tube amp sounds
Pyle did a great job with this amp. Great sound
