Product itself is great but the software that runs it is trash tierI use this mic for gaming and streaming and the audio quality is pretty good, as is the quality of the build. However since this purchase I have run into so many problems with the software over two different PC builds and now even different operating system versions (Windows 10 AND 11). The software has promise as the utility overall looks nice and is pretty easy to use, but between the constant crashing and the incompatibility it seems to have between the Wave link utility and the Stream deck utility it really wasn’t worth the several hundred dollars I spent on these products. On top of the utilities crashing in the middle of a stream, the utility often just randomly decides that it is no longer connected to stream deck so I no longer have control functionality in stream and usually have to restart one or both utilities mid stream to correct it (btw I use two PC’s to manage the workload on top of having some pretty beefy specs on the main gaming PC including the Ryzen 9 5900X processor and 64gb of ram running at 3600 MHz).Now let’s talk about the compatibility with 3rd party software for noise reduction or voice changing. The amount of issues that have risen from using Nvidia broadcast because it originally natively did not have a decent noise gate is pretty hilarious. The amount of times that it no longer recognized the input of Broadcast after a new update was like they were telling me to use their own software for noise reduction; only theirs was basically nonexistent. All that Wave link had was a “low cut filter” and a “clip guard” neither of which do anything about the ambient sounds in the room such as fans for the hot summers or even the click clack of my mouse and keyboard, of which no one wants to hear on stream. Nvidia broadcast cleaned up everything nicely and neatly without using too much in the ways of resources; however with the amount of times the input ceased to function after updating Wave link it seemed like Elgato was trying to force my hand. They finally release an in app version of Nvidia broadcast and for a second, just a second I was actually had I little bit of that excitement I had before I realized the Wave link software was going to be a nightmare at every turn. I was stoked because FINALLY it’s got an integrated noise gate. Installed and cued up (the setup was unnecessarily difficult but I got it running) and to my dismay.. it only works at a fraction of the capacity of native Nvidia broadcast. Back was the sound of the clickity clack of my keyboard and my mouse. Any time I spoke I could hear the noise of my fan. When I quit speaking, the noise of my fan remained and I would have to shut off the fan or mute my mic to get it to cut till I spoke again. Hell the audio meter never actually showed that audio cuts the ambient noise, mind you I have the mic gain set to a single dot on the mic interface, the lowest it’ll go before you can barely hear me on the stream. I’ve included pictures of the utility operating with my fan on. First and third inputs are in order from left to right the mic itself with the Broadcast VST running and Voicemod with Broadcast VST running and as you can see for yourself the mic is hot on both inputs while the input between one and three which is native Broadcast running from the input of the Wave 3 mic is dead silent and will remain as such till I speak. While I speak through the native Broadcast input, you cannot hear my fan OR my mouse and keyboard.. Or anything else for that matter and trust me I’ve played around with it on discord to see if my team could hear various items making noise next to the mic while speaking or silent and not a sound could be heard on the other end other than my voice (good work Nvidia). All in all, I wish the software that came with the mic actually preformed for the amount of money I spent as it does function well when it is actually functioning but the amount of problems I’ve had over the years with this and basically every other Elgato\Corsair product I’ve purchased (Wave 3, Stream deck, Corsair Void RGB Elite wireless {the mic audio was trash for an at the time near $200 purchase} Corsair K100 keyboard {legit the only one I don’t have complaints about}) and the fact that I now dread updates from Elgato just makes this product not worth the money I spent on it and would urge you to spend your money elsewhere

This is far better than I expectedI’m really glad I went with this mic, I bought it while it was on sale. While my original intention was just having it for discord hangouts because I really don’t like that discord doesn’t have a monitoring feature with basic in-line mics like an Xbox would, so I invested in this to cover a lot of areas. The sound quality out of the box is. …ehh but useable, but that’s to be expected. Once you download the Wave software and add VST plug-in’s, this is where the mic truly shows its range of possibilities. Elgato did a really good job here because you can fine tune the mic to your preference and you can even fine tune it enough where you can replicate the sound of mics maybe even 10x the cost of this one if not more. While the Bit range only reaches 96 Bits, it’s entirely acceptable because most software don’t go any higher when it comes to streaming ..and most likely if it were higher it would just end up getting compressed down to whatever Bit max that program caps out at.Streamers and YouTubers using Shure SM-7’s are definitely never using the full range of their mics because of Streamlabs and OBS’s Bit cap that only goes up to 96 bits. Though, that mic does add a professional looking aesthetic, the price doesn’t seem worth it when you’re never using it’s fullest potential. Higher bit count would only matter if you’re recording something like music where a higher Bit rate would actually count. The build quality of the wave mic is solid, but light, there’s not much heft to it, I believe it’s all metal/aluminum. The base stand is actually the heaviest thing in the box, but I mounted my mic on a VIVO premium arm that handles light mics well enough. You don’t need to worry about the mic fitting an arm either because they include a threaded adapter. The USB-C to A cable is a decent length, my only gripe with the cable is that they could’ve gone with a braided cable with a bit more flexibility ..but that’s just a minor complaint, it’s not enough for me to take a star away.

Perfect for podcasts and streaming!I love my Elgato Wave 3. It was super easy to set up. It improved my streaming experience. I was able to record amazing podcasts with my friends. If you are looking for a high quality audiophile experience, this is it. I love the way it looks and that it attaches to any mic arm with ease. Just don’t throw away the box without grabbing the adapter like I did. lol. Thankfully I hadn’t taken the trash out yet and was able to recover it. I found some tutorials to watch on how to set it up with my streaming software. I recommend this to everyone who asks. You do not have to spend a fortune for great sound.

I thoroughly enjoy the sound on this for a starter mic.I’ve done several videos with the Blue Yeti X, up until it went out on me. It didn’t last a year, so I wanted something within the same price range, but would last longer. Here comes the Wave 3. I’ve recorded a few videos and LOVE the sound on it. It’s definitely better than the Yeti X to me, but you’ll have to tune it properly for the differences to shine through. There are a few videos out there to properly tune the mic. It can easily integrate with Windows 10 and 11. If you’re looking to start YouTube or want to upgrade from a lower quality mic to a decent mic, then this one is the way to go!

Es increíble su audio y su ecosistema es maravillosoNo tiene. Nada que envidiarle a un micrófono de condensador análogo este micrófono tiene millones de funcionalidades y su programa es perfecto para administrar el sonido, presets y efectos

Excellent qualityI use this for work since I have to take a lot of customer calls. One of my coworkers has it and I just noticed how good it always sounds. It is a quick easy tap to mute and unmute as well. Highly recommend. Zero complaints.

  7. Xavier J

Good microphone!Great microphone for multi-purpose reasons for the price.

  8. Landon

Really goodI have a really loud keyboard that I don’t mind but don’t want others hearing but this perfectly fixed that issue

  9. g

Definitely not for beginnersLove the mic currently watching some tutorial videos for lal the plug ins. Best part tho the noise cancelation that it comes with right at the start instantly fixed so many problems i had with my old mic that the noise cancelation from obs just didn’t take out and needed a ton of settings to work but with this was just one simple noise cancellation and done.

Great sound quality, very sketchy mute button support in MacOSI bought this microphone because my HyperX Quadcast S was starting to act sketchy on my work laptop. Turned out that was actually an issue with my USB-C hub. Anyway, here’s the thing: Yes, this microphone sounds pretty good. The headphone jack works REALLY well. I plugged my 250 ohm Beyerdynamic DT880s into it and it powered them loudly and clearly. The dial on the front acts as a headphone volume dial by default – this is awesome! Sound quality is great too. Similar to my Quadcast S honestly lol. Maybe a tiny bit bassier? Whatever. So I started out the next day looking forward to using it with my work computer, running MacOS Big Sur. The mic detected great, everyone heard it just fine. I tap the mute button on top…. and webex picks it up and mutes the output…. wait what?I clicked the unmute button in webex and IT UNMUTED MY MICROPHONE.That’s right. ElGato didn’t use a HARDWARE MUTE BUTTON here. If you mute your microphone, everything on your computer knows. If you tap the mute button on top of the mic and the light is red, get this: The software can un-mute it at will. That sounds fantastic if you have a meeting host that decides to unmute you for some reason.Fantastic.I’m guessing they did that for better integration with their other products. Unfortunately, there’s no way to change the behavior. I really don’t like that, and because of that, I’ll probably be returning this microphone. To add icing to the cake, the webex muting/unmuting is a little bit unpredictable. Sometimes webex follows the mute button, sometimes it doesn’t. Teams worked about as well lol.Ok outside of that. It’s a nice mic. The packaging is lovely. It comes with a sweet mic arm attachment adapter. The lights are very clear and again, the sound quality is fantastic. The volume dial is the best I’ve used. It’s a decent amount smaller than my Quadcast S, which is already smaller than a Blue Yeti.If it weren’t for that dodgy mute button behavior I’d really love this mic. Hopefully they fix that in a software update someday and give us a choice on how the mute button behaves.
