Tilt range is NOT 270°
False advertising of tilt range. Tilt range states 270° when In fact it is only 180°. If it where 270° the fixture would point down at the floor. The real degree for this fixture is more of 190° – 200°Update: brightness does not compare to a 100 watt bulb, more like a 35 watt at most. Very dim compared to my other 50 watt beam movers. Motors are jumpy which tells me 16bit p/t isnt at true form.

Fantastic Lights!
These are fantastic lights! I usually buy name brand gear, but I figured I would take a chance on these.I bought two of them at first, and was so impressed that I bought two more. Now, I have four of them, and they all work flawlessly. These lights are very well built, are nice and bright, and the motion tracks very smoothly.I am using them with SoundSwitch, and they work perfectly. (I’m using the U’King ZQ02236 profile, which has the same DMX channel layout). My only gripe is that the company is falsely advertising these as having RGB color mixing – and they do not.I knew this ahead of time, though, as the DMX channel layout clearly shows a color wheel.U’King… You do know that a split color on the color wheel is NOT “RBG color mixing”, right? With that aside, I am very happy with my purchases. I will definitely consider U’King lights again when it’s time to add more to my setup.

Not bright for 199, not happy at all, returning Monday.
Not bright for 199. More like a $90 moving head. Not like in the videos I saw. May be defective. Returning.

Small Package Semi-Pro Moving Head
This is a moderate throw mid range pro moving head that is as much at home as a DJ or party light as it is a pro level stage light. Suitable for small to mid-sized pro stage use.The light can be set on random programming thus allowing hands free operation. There is a sound activated operation as well.It can also be controlled / programmed via DMX controllers (12 channels). Programming is straightforward and easy to implement.A variety of rotating prisms (18-facet circular), rotating GOBO (with 7 options), and color wheel give you a world of styles to work your art.Strobing and dimming are other effects that can be used. The 100 watts of light allow for a moderate throw for stage work. The use of fog or even better a hazer adds dimension by highlighting the entire beams.Parallel DMX allows you to daisy chain many fixtures saving on multiple cable runs. It does not have parallel power inputs and that is a shame because a unit at this price point should have parallel power for daisy chaining in a pro setup. Power input is via Speakon power cable which helps keep the cable in and not get pulled out. This unit weighs a bit so as always use safety lanyards on any truss applications.

Solid build!

I have several stage lights that I use just for fun. I added this one to my collection because it is a little different than the other stage lights I have. Compared to my other inexpensive stage lights this one is much better built. I like the fact that the power cord has a twist on connector as this stops the cord from popping out overtime. I do wish they made the cord a little longer. The housing is made of thicker material, it feels extremely sturdy, and it is not as noisy as the others. The movement is also very quick and fluid. The intensity of the light is reasonable even for larger areas. Unfortunately, just like my other stage lights, the included instruction manual is not much help. For whatever reason it seems that the manufactures of lower cost stage lights just don’t like to share many details about how their lights work. I don’t understand this because it would certainly be a much better user experience if they provided more information about their light in the manual. There is not a lot of information about these lights on the Internet either so you must do a lot of trial and error to figure these out. More expensive stage lights tend not have this issue because they have better instruction manuals and more online support. At present time, I am not using this with a DMX controller although that is my ultimate goal. Trying to use these lights without a DMX controller is not the easiest. There is a control panel on the front of the light with small buttons that you press for the different functions. When you are not using the DMX controller, the most relevant buttons allow you to select auto mode or sound mode. In auto mode the light does its own thing. In sound mode, the light reacts to sound. I found that the auto mode worked, except that it goes too fast. You can see this in the attached video as I was trying to record the output and nothing stayed in one place long enough for me to get a good shot of it. I would like the ability to slow this down so you can actually see the different GOBO displays and other functions. I could not find a way to do this using the switches. Sound mode is not sensitive enough even when I set the light to its maximum sensitivity setting. It requires loud music to make this thing dance to the music. I guess in most cases people will have loud music so maybe this isn’t that big a deal for most people. I also found out that the factory reset function does not really factory reset all settings. I had played with the “fine tuning settings” and when I hit factory reset, it did not take these back to the factory defaults. I had to spend time playing with the settings trying to get the light to work correctly again. Overall, the light has some positive and negative traits. I think my experience will be much better once I move it to the DMX environment and either create or find the appropriate device profile. In the meantime, I’ll probably just use it in sound mode with loud music.

Disco Inferno
Bust out some Lords of Acid with this badboy and the 16000GIGAWATTS Pa speakers and it’s eat your heart out 1996! This was some good fun and it’s professional enough to use at a small gig. It’s kool.

Limited colors, bright, good response time
Nice midrange consumer moving head. Please note that this lamp can only do about 8 colors. There is no color mixing. You can only adjust the brightness level of the colors. The gobo designs are ok, there is no split color option that I saw. I did connect this light to my DMX controller to look at the channel options. This is a 12 channel light. The light has the newer round style of power that replaces the IEC cable. This is the first moving head I have seen that actually has an on/off switch. Overall it’s good, just don’t expect a wide range of color. The movement response time is quick but doubtful quick enough for a commercial setting where speed is essential. The fan is moderately loud but not enough to be heard over most music volumes.

Fast, bright, colorful and super easy to operate with a DMX controller
The media could not be loaded.
This is a solid, well-built and easily controlled stage light. Picked this up to add to my light show and I have been very happy with the performance. In the video I have this running on the right of the T-bar in full auto with a medium density fog. I love the 12 channel controls that have all the light functions save the prism available in channels 1-9. I only need to switch to bank two to operate the prism which made this super easy to program several chases. I am no expert with a DMX controller, so this set-up was perfect for me.I did not have much success in sound mode. Tapping on the case shows that sound mode does work, but apparently the light needs to be very close to the music source or it needs to be very loud. There were also screws in the mounting points that were very difficult to remove to install the bracket. I almost stripped these before they came out. Fortunately, they do include hex bolts for the bracket so I could discard the screws.Overall, very pleased with this light. There is no remote and operating this light from the panel control would be difficult. Unless you have a DMX controller or plan on running this in auto or sound, I would not recommend for home use.

This thing is MEGA cool
I got this namely to amateur dj a family wedding next spring, so I’m not by any means an expert. But I can tell you my experience with it vs $1,000 counterparts that I’ve used at a bar I used to work at.This thing is fast, it’s as quiet at the expensive options, and looks nice and bright. There’s an automatic mode that just goes wild, there’s a sound activated mode which syncs with music, it’s a really nice package for a fraction of the cost of a regular motorized gobo light. The instructions do say to give it a rest every 4 hours. So, I’m not sure if this competes with the big boys on that front. The REAL draw to this light is if you get a DMX controller you can set dynamic paths for it to take or have it work as a spot light.I wanted to use this with white as a spotlight for the first dance at a wedding reception, which means I’m off to get a DMX controller. Check out DMXControl for windows, it’s free!
