Super compact and rugged, the Blackmagic Design SDI to HDMI 3G Micro Converter enables you to use HDMI-input monitors and televisions for production monitoring. This compact converter has one SD/HD/3G-SDI input, one HDMI output, and one SD/HD/3G-SDI loop output. It includes a 17-point 3D LUT that can be used to calibrate HDMI- or SDI-input monitors and it can output a LUT for viewing via the SDI loop output. The Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G also features automatic SD, HD, and Level A and B SDI detection and support for a wide range of pro broadcast resolutions including cine-style 48 fps. This pocket-sized converter features a sturdy metal housing with power and signal LED status indicators and rugged connector interfaces. A USB Type-C port enables the SDI to HDMI 3G converter to easily connect to and be powered by large-screen monitors, laptops, desktop computers, or projectors. You can also power this converter using the separately available 100-240 VAC power supply, complete with four international socket adapters.

Ce convertisseur est robuste et fonctionne parfaitement. Nous en utilisons depuis plusieurs années pour acquérir des images via un HDMI, une référence pour nous.

Wieso man sich hier beschwert, dass kein Netzteil dabei ist, versteh ich nicht. Es ist gerade zu perfekt, da es an einem Smart TV vom dort vorhandenen USB Anschluss Power bekommt. Auch ältere nicht so smarte TVs oder Beamer haben meist schon einen USB Anschluss. Auch an einem USB 2.0 mit 500 mA funktioniert der Konverter. Das sind doch nur Vorteile: Kein zusätzliches Kabel hängt rum. Es braucht keine Mehrfachsteckdose. Und der Konvertert wird nur mit Strom versorgt, wenn der TV an ist. Für unseren Einsatzzweck ist es perfekt. Einzig so ein USB-A to USB-C Kabel könnte mitgeliefert werden. Aber dann wird sich mit sicherheit wieder darüber beschwert, dass es dem einen zu lang und dem anderen zu kurz ist. Manch einer hat solche Kabel eh breits im Überfluss rumliegen und der Konverter kann so günstiger verkauft werden. Ich finde es spitze.

When it needs to work!
I had assembled and tested a good quality (PTZOptics, Blackmagic Designs) camera system. For the production system (Church Sanctuary), I needed to remote the camera by 50′, which is a bit much to trust HDMI. I purchased a high quality SDI cable and an off-brand SDI to HDMI converter. After installation, there was banding in the image and highly distorted colors. No adjustment, replug, or reset could cure it. I returned the converter and purchased this Blackmagic converter. I plugged it in and everything worked perfectly with a clear and undistorted image. Lesson learned.Note that, per the other reviews, the box contains ONLY this converter and no power supply. You will need to add a USB-C ended cable on the converter end and a power supply. You may have these laying around, but if not, add them to your shopping list and the overall cost. A USB-A to USB-C cable and an inexpensive 15W power supply is working fine for me.

Reliable piece of gear
These are our standard SDI to HDMI converters used within our production environments and for field use. The new USB-C powered versions have been very reliable so far. We have not had any connection issues or bad units with over 100 in use regularly. We will keep coming back to use these as they are decently priced and very functional for their purpose.

Runs on the warm side. I adhered it to the wall using double sided tape. The warmth causes some shifting in position, but so far it stays to the wall. I only mention the warmth.
