LCD Scribble Strips – Instant ReadoutLCD scribble strips grace the top of each channel fader providing an instant visual readout of which track and parameter you are adjusting – totally eliminating old school tape-and-marker labelling. |
A Symphony of LightsWith over 92 dedicated illuminated buttons, 8 rotary controls with LED collars, 8-segment LED meters per channel and an LED time code display, the X-TOUCH is a feast for the eyes as well as the hands. Know in brilliant color if a channel is muted or soloed and see how hot the level is pumping as you make changes during recording or mixing. Arm multiple tracks or adjust panning at the same time and marvel at how you ever relied on a mouse to do a controller’s job. |
The FeelNavigation is a breeze with the abundant features on the X-TOUCH’s surface. The large jog/shuttle wheel and tape-style transport controls provide intuitive control over the most used actions in your DAW. Race between fader banks with the touch of a button and make changes with the turn of actual knobs, the movement of real faders or the push of physical, illuminated buttons. It’s like bringing your on-screen DAW controls to life! |

Buy it nowBuy it, you won’t regret it. Do your homework with your DAW of choice and see what “MCU” support is built in. It handle Mackie and HUI protocols. Your DAW determines how functional this unit or any other control surface incorporates into “Your Daw”. In Logic you can even use it with the plugins, watch videos to understand this. Doing a mix was sooo easy with 8 faders instead of the mouse, adjust levels and pan just like on a real console, with logic, you can use knobs to set parameters on plugins instead of the mouse, able to turn more than one knob at a time, turn a knob mover a fader at the same time ( never happen with a mouse).I use LUNA it ran right out of the box. When used with Logic, you can control plugins by either the fader or knobs. I was able to control UAD plugins, waves plugins and I suspect any others plugins. Small learning curve. But it is so nice to twist a knob, even two at a time, say a la2a you can turn both knobs at same time and dial in quickly.

Works very well with Logic Pro XIf you are a Logic Pro X user and want a tactile feel to your controls, this unit will do the job. I like being able to write automation with faders rather than with mouse. Takes a bit of initial setup. It is not a plug and play. But no big deal. Also, you will have to get used to it. At first, it will slow you down. But after a while it will speed you up. Happy mixing! So why 4 stars and not 5? I would love to see better quality faders. These are not awful, but they feel cheap. That is because they are. But it does the job.

Must have for xr18.It gives me near complete control over everything in the xr18. I couldn’t imagine going back to using the miserable iOS version of the xr18 software.

Works great… May need to tweak a few things depending on your DAWWorks great… May need to tweak a few things depending on your DAW Tried it on logic pro X, FL studio, ableton live 11, and reaper. Works the best with Logic Pro X

If you run Logic Pro, YOU NEED THIS.I wasn’t sure I really needed a mixer/controller, because I’m pretty good with a trackpad, but within a week it became indispensable. It really DOES make it easier to mix when you’ve got automated faders in front of you. It’s perfect for Logic Pro right out of the box. I have a few small gripes – the faders do chatter a little bit when they’re automated to slowly fade out, but that sound doesn’t impact your recording. I wish I could lock the scribble strips to ONLY display the track name. But mostly this product is amazing for the price. I really love it.

Behringer X-TouchThere is a learning curve to get it to work with Studio One software. The documentations is weak and poor at best. Not to worry, there are plenty of YouTube videos that will help.

Expensive but worth itI purchased this to use with my Behringer XR18 mixer so I could have a physical interface. It does that well.PROS:Great interface to the virtual controls of the XR18 mixer. I thought it would be hard to understand but, at the end of the day, it was actually pretty easy to build a work flow in my head.CONS:Some of the quality is questionable for something that costs near 500 dollars. The motors for the faders seem a bit cheap. They are loud and seem ‘scratchy’ when you move them manually. Additionally, the ‘scrub’ know seems pretty cheap feeling although I don’t have a lot of use for it as I don’t use many of the DAW functionality. If you use an XR18 mixer, I would totally recommend the XTouch as a physical interface.

Good remoteNow my review in stars is highly correlated to how we are using this board. We are connecting this board to a Mac to xEdit to control a front of house board that sits up in a sound booth where it is hard to hear. The board needs to be updated first using sys librarian, so that was a process. Then after multiple youtube videos we figured out it works best when used in tandem connected usb to Mac. If you wanted to use this in a home studio in a daw, I’m sure it would be no problem, but for our use it was complicated to set up and get it rolling. It helps that now our sound guys for church can be in the room and have tactile faders.

Great for controlling my XR18 and my X32 Rack.I love how this thing connects using 1 ethernet cable. I can leave the rack out of the way and just have my console where I needed. Controlling the EQ and plugins take a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, its easy enough. I tend to still run the App on my pc to view the racks, but I leave the view on full mixer. Then I can even watch those values move on each channel as I dial in the plugins and EQ with the XTouch by hand.

Build qualityIt’s works fine from the 10inutes I’m playing with it, but a brand new machine never but never like in the picture. And I almost didn’t used the button. Do I need to use a Black marker on a new device?
