Works well for old gaming systems.
The device works very well for Al gaming systems. You can do AV cables as well as the newer 5 component cables (PrPbYLR). If you’re just using the old AV cables (Yellow video, red and white audio) then just don’t plug in the Pb (blue) component cable and it’ll register as an “AV” input instead of “component” input. You’ll just need to buy a 5 component cable to plug into this box and the TV and this switched works swell! Happy retro gaming!

Does not work on all smart tv’s
This is only a component media mechanical switch. It did not work on my Smart TV. I needed a switch for DVD Player and VCR to view on Smart TV, this did not work so I returned it.

Does the job, but with a major caveat
I purchased this to replace one exactly like it. The box does what I need it to, but I suppose you get what you pay for, when it comes to construction. The RCA jacks are extremely cheap, and I’d give you this advice… don’t use RCA cables that fit extremely snugly on the connectors. When disconnecting a snug-fitting cable, the RCA jack came apart. That flaw aside, the box works as advertised.

Cheap but does the job
I have a lot of retro consoles. I needed a way to hook up a PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360 via component to my HDTV. Unplugging and plugging in these every time I wanted to use a console was just going to be downright annoying. So I saw this and the price was right so figured why not. I spent what I saved on this on very good quality cables. My first impressions was just sheer laughter. It was light and definitely built cheaply. I took a look at the instructions and it was hands down the worst translations I’ve ever seen from a Chinese product. They were laughably useless and we’re in complete jibberish. But this switch is simple. Plug in your cables for your devices and plug in a cable from the box to the TV and you’re good to go. You can’t screw it up if you tried. Otherwise, this thing works quite well. I didn’t notice any image quality issues or anything. So I’d say this was a good buy.I do have a couple issues with it though that leads me to deduct a star. Really, the only reason I deducted a star is because it slides very easy on my TV stand when I press a button. Because it’s light and it has no rubber feet to keep it from sliding, you have to hold it when changing sources. It’s no big deal to buy some adhesive rubber strips to slap on the bottom, but that is something that should have been included with the build. Also the switches are pretty tinny feeling but hey, for the price I’m not knocking it for that since they do work fine.In conclusion, for the price this works well. I’m satisfied and I do recommend it. There’s more expensive switches on the market but I don’t see any reason for me to upgrade right now. We’ll see if it lasts because it is cheaply made. But again, for the price, this works for me.

Gut für Komponente, Schelcht für AV
Funktioniert bei Komponente einwandfrei und ich kann keinen Qualitätsverlust vermerken. Bei mir stecken eine XBOX und eine PS3 dran. Kleiner Abzug, da er nicht mit AV Kabeln klar kommt und es damit Probleme gibt. Das ist in der Hinsicht etwas komisch, da AV eigentlich reibungslos in jede Komponente passt.

Convenient, but picture quality isn’t perfect.
I have 3 non-HDMI game consoles connected to this component switch box (Xbox, XBox 360, Wii), which is convenient because the TV/monitor they’re connected to only has 2 component inputs, and the other is already in use. However, the picture quality , while not horrible or distracting, is certainly not as clear/crisp as when the consoles are connected directly to the TV/monitor input. I tried to take comparison pictures, but the difference in image quality wasn’t as noticeable in the pics as in person.

What I like is that this device doesn’t need a power supply at all! This is the reason I decided to pick it up because I just don’t have room to plug in another box. It’s pretty easy to use and simply plug and play. There’s 3 inputs and 1 output. If you grab the 18” cables Amazon recommends with this then be sure to separate them apart so they’re easier to work with. I have my Wii, Xbox, and PSP/PS2 plugged into this. I wish there were 4 inputs but this’ll work just fine. No noticeable lag or loss in video quality. No added noise etc since there’s no power to the device. Just keep in mind your total length from console to tv.
