Seems unbelievable at this price. Amazed at sound and build quality.
I can’t tell the difference between these mics and the lav mic that comes with the Tascam DR-10L. These are actually slightly richer sounding with a warmer tone that seems to break the traditional expectation that lavs are usually a thinner sound than proper dialog mics.Does not come in a box. Packaged in a resealable clear plastic bag with the cable tie wrapped with clip mounted and wind screen attached. Black foam windscreen loose in bag. No frills, no warranty card, nothing else.Couple things that I noticed:1. The wind screen is threaded. It will not come off accidentally. Every other lav i have with a windscreen pushes on and off, albeit, some are still rather snug, nonetheless, they can come off unexpectedly. Try to find it on any other mic, if it falls off outside in the grass. Your shoot is over unless you pack spares. No idea how to purchase spare threaded wind screens for this mic. At ten bucks each, I guess you just buy another bag of two mics for the price almost of the windscreen by itself.2. The cable is plenty long to reach either the body pack transmitter or the portable body recorder.3. The plug appears to be gold plated. No connection problems encountered on bench testing.4. The connector collar is knurled and works smoothly to cinch up the mic to threaded 1/8″ input jack on DR-10L.5. Plug fits snugly into capsule of Zoom H5 and snaps in tightly despite not being a threaded jack.6. I did not test the foam wind screen. It will not mount on the mic unless you first remove the metal wind screen first.7. The diameter is slightly larger than the Senn ME2. ME2 mic clips are too small to fit around these mics, but not by much. Just barely will NOT fit.8. The mic clips that come with the mic are sturdy, but the spring tension is very very tight, making it nearly impossible to open the clip wide enough to mount on subject’s clothing. I am expecting considerable fumbling on my part to mount this mic with the included clip until i find replacement clips that are easier on my fingers to open.9. For around 10 bucks each, you could by 2 dozen of these mics for the price of one ME2. That means you can consider these almost disposable for the price.10. Although it’s an omni polar pattern, side and rear rejection is still decent for wind and other ambience, which also means that placement and position on the subject is critical to capturing clear dialog. There is noticeable fall off when the mic is not pointed directly at the subject’s mouth. I noticed a considerable loss of mids and highs when slightly mounted off axis.11. Of the two mics in the package, it seemed like they had a different output level at first. One required more gain at first, but then, with further testing, i wasn’t so sure after all. Gain setting for -12 dB range on H5 capsule was about 5 or so.12. I wanted a cheap mic that sounds good for spares for back up on my Tascam DR-10L’s, so these do that job admirably. No telling how reliable they’ll be, but for ten bucks, i can buy plenty more, priced almost like Jelly Beans.

I had to remove the ring on the plug for this to work with my GoPro Hero 7 with 3.5mm adaptor
You need to buy an adaptor from GoPro that plugs into the USB-C port on the side and has a 3.5mm plug for this to work. That adaptor supports a microphone with a 3 pole 3.5mm plug, which this microphone has.It has a screw ring on the plug that I guess helps it stay attached to the Sennheiser Wireless transmitter. That ring makes it so it doesn’t engage securely with the GoPro microphone adaptor. So I used my Dremel tool to cut off the ring (see photo). Then it was able to full insert into the adaptor.I took 1 star off for that. That sound is good.

    Work great!
We needed some replacement mics for our Sennheiser wireless mics and these work great! They are just as sensitive as the original Sennheisers and are a fraction of the cost. Sennheiser wanted $199 for one pair! Sound is great and can’t beat the price. Would definitely recommend.

    Superb value for money
The sound quality is amazing and at a great price. The original Sennheisser mics burn a hole in the pocket and this pair outperforms the original mics in sound quality. The mics are really durable as well. I have bought 3 pairs so far in last 2 years and ALL of these are still functional. One of the original mics (costing about 20 times per mic) went bad due to a internal wire break in the meantime.

    Good Replacement
Our new kittens chewed through the cords of our mics. Was so happy to find these replacements that work great.

  7. Cinnamon Kid

Excellent value – More sensitive than Sennhesier ME-2
These sound just as good as the Sennhesier ME-2 to anyone I have asked. Amazing value. I can buy a bunch of these for the price of the Sennhesier ME-2. So even if they don’t last as long, I feel like we are $ ahead at our small church. We have one pastor who clips even when the gain on the Soundcraft Audio Mixer is turned all the way down. They have quite the dynamic range… We may have to use an attenuator to dial back the signal strength a bit.

  8. Thomas

    Great
WAY cheaper than Sennheiser mics. A little physically bigger, but for the price are great. Sound quality is good. Cble is sturdy. I have not broken one of thee yet.

  9. Nabil Pavon

    Good quality
The mics sound is great, very clear. The cables are nice and sturdy. The foam sponge is very fragile and it ripped when trying to place it in, it should be more flexible.
