Remember the days when you went to Wembley to watch the football match and Wimbledon to watch the tennis or to a conference for the content and the off chance you would find someone with whom you could do business?
Increasingly, the match or content is not the only driving force for attendees. There are so many demands on our attention. Ride the Tube and people are running their finger down their smart phone checking e-mail or thumbing away texting or engaging in social media. Loud music, flashing scoreboards, video screens bombard us at sporting events.
