I Finally Figured Out How to Solve My Issue with This
So, I’ll leave the review I left a month ago for transparency, but long story short, the bizarrely ultra specific reason this device had for not working was because it wasn’t receiving enough power. Given how it worked with every other single monitor I tried, I figure it could not be that, but the USB port on the USB hub that I purchased after returning this actually supplied 5 Volts, while the USB port on my power strip was only supplying 4.5 Volts after I plugged in more USB devices to its other USB ports. It seems utterly insane that that 0.5 Volts would make this device unable to recognize my ultrawide monitor, but it did; and it also did the same for the more expensive Mini Displayport to Dual HDMI Splitter Adapter that I purchased after returning this.Here’s my old 2 star review:For almost a month, I had no problem using this with my 23.8″ 1920x1080p ASUS VA249HE monitor and my 35″ 3440x1440p SCEPTRE C355W-3440UN Ultrawide monitor. Then it stopped working with my 3440x1440p SCEPTRE C35 ultrawide. I tried reinstalling my graphics drivers and uninstalling them with DDU several times, as well as using several different HDMI cables, but I couldn’t get this to work with my ultrawide monitor, despite it having worked with it for almost a month. I also tried this with my 32″ 2560 x 1440p LG QHD 32QN600-B monitor, and even my 55″ 3840x2160p SAMSUNG TU-8300 TV screen.This is far more debugging than the average user would go through and I can’t help but be EXTREMELY disappointed that this product just stopped working with one of the two monitors I needed it to work with. Even though the other versions of this product are more expensive, I’ll be returning this and replacing it with one of those, as there’s a chance that they’ll actually work.

Great alternative to expensive laptop docks
This is great as an alternative to laptop docks. The only issue I have is that it also needs to be plugged into a power source (USB) to work.

Not sure if this is how it’s supposed to work?
I everything about the Item seems great, and it’s working fine (it think) except that for whatever reason, my computer only detects one monitor. Both monitors are the same, and they mirror each other on screen, effectively making it a useless splitter. Not sure why my iMac is only detecting one additional monitor, but both displays “mirror” as the second display. Not sure if this is my computers problem or if it’s how this product sends the signal to my computer. Will update rating upon review from seller.

Work well for my surface book and surface pro 4.
This has worked pretty well for my surface book and surface pro 4. It is a good way to avoid needing a dock which is what I wanted. It gives you the ability to have two monitors connected. It actually did work on my macbook air which was surprising. It is not perfect though which we will discuss. On windows, I am able to easily connect my surface to two different screens through my mini displayport. The cable is short and really only meant for laptops. That being said, if you are using this for your surface pro 4, it will be hanging off the side of the monitor. Regardless, this is a good way to avoid getting a dock. This does not require you to download drivers in order for it to work. It will automatically detect. Be aware though that the output is limited on your device graphic card. That being said, this works great for if you are trying to hook this up to to two monitors. The short cable itself is pretty sturdy so you do not have to worry too much about the neck getting frayed. The HDMI female ports do a good job staying connected so it does not be easily disconnected. I would say it works great up to 1080P and I do not see any heating or video issues. Also it may only support one monitor output depending on the device. The device does not come with any HDMI cable. It does not require any external power and is pretty light weight so you can put it say in your laptop bag. Another thing I would say about this product is that the picture quality is good and there is no lag which is great. Overall I think this is a great product to have if you are looking for a way to connect your device to two monitors with the need for a dock. It gives me the video quality I need but again sometimes the laptop you have may only allow one output or it will not have good resolution on the second monitor. At least this does not require any drivers.

HDMI splitter
This is meant for connecting 2 computer monitors. Wish it had a little more length on the USB side. Works as it should. I haven’t had any issues with it.
