So far, so goodI’m installing a bunch of these for a POE-based multi-camera video streaming upgrade for our curling facility. The video quality is a major upgrade from our old CCTV-based analog system. PTZ capability allows remote aiming and image composition without getting up on a ladder. Time will tell if these will have good longevity. The configuration software (VMS) is functional, if occasionally flaky. I would prefer to use the web interface, but the required web browser plugin has not been updated to be compatible with modern browsers. There are a boatload of options and capabilities, not all well documented, but the basics are easy to figure out. The RTSP streams are easy to configure and display or tap for streaming using XStream. Im using Rasberry Pi4s and omxplayer to drive local video monitors. Docked one star for now for the unusable web interface.

Cannot access Camera with Firefox or chromTech Support helped me access the camera. This firm ware is out of date and needs to be updated for current browsers. One must use an old version of IE to access the camera.

Excellent camera for live streaming! If you are interested in live streaming and want a PTZ camera with decent quality and zoom, I am absolutely positive that you will not find a better deal than this camera. I have NOT been paid to write this review; I just want everyone else to be able to enjoy this amazing deal.- Price: at $200, the eco version of this camera is unbeatable. There is no other camera this quality even close to this price. For indoors, and not using the night vision, this version of the SUNBA (405-D20 ECO) was perfect. I don’t think you need the bigger version for inside.- Ease of use: This camera is very simple to install, and once you plug it into the router, just put in the CD that comes with it to install VMS and follow instructions. I didn’t have a special POE+ cable to provide power, but it was close to an electrical plug so I used the regular power adapter and didn’t even need any kind of extension.- PTZ: The pan, tilt, zoom features are very easy to use, via the VMS program. Once you program the presets, all you have to do is enter a number and click and it will go to the needed position. It moves very quickly from place to place (in fact, the only factor I don’t like is that I can’t move smoothly to a preset, but I’ll live with it) and can see literally every spot in the room except for a small part of the ceiling. The 20x zoom is plenty for our church sanctuary (see photos).- Quality: The video quality is true 1080p HD. It looks better than real life. I’ve attached some pictures that show the quality completely zoomed out and 20x zoomed in.- Streaming compatible: We stream using Streamlabs OBS, and it was a breeze to get started with this camera. I simply used the VMS window and adjusted it to size. Later I learned how to directly stream the RTSP feed that comes from the camera; so you have options.- Customer Support: The customer support from SUNBA is without equal. As other reviewers said, these guys are amazing. They respond with detailed emails within a few hours, and if all else fails they will connect to your computer and walk you through everything. There was an issue with the first camera and when they told me to send it back, the new one arrived in about 4 days and I was never charged for anything. When I was confused about the settings in OBS to connect the RTSP, the technicians spent a lot of time getting me straightened out. Thanks so much to Albert Wong – a good communicator and very patient technician. :)In summary, this is no doubt a great security camera, but if you want a camera for live streaming, this is the BEST you are going to find, all things considered. If we get another camera for another angle we are definitely going to buy the same camera again.

Critical issues makes this a security riskThis camera was an upgrade from a cheaper sunba camera I had tried. It was a step up, but did have a number of critical issues that ultimately resulted in a return. The biggest issue I had was that after any power failure or reboot at night, it was necessary to manually go in and turn night mode off and back on again, or you had to deal with purple video until daybreak. I contacted sunba and they responded (quickly) that I’d have to “simply use the software to turn night mode off and back on” which is NOT ok for a security camera. If I have a power outage or the camera randomly reboots (which it did occasionally) at say 2:30 am, how reasonable is it for me to wake up and deal with it? No way, sunba. The other option was to go shine a bright light into the camera to trick it into day mode. Again, not practical in the middle of the night. The field of view was great, the 20x optical zoom was great, the optics were fairly sound. If not for those issues, this camera would still be in service. Insread I switched to amcrest and haven’t looked back. The difference between 12x and 20x is barely noticeable, and the amcrest doesn’t give me problems. I went with the amcrest ip2m-853ew.

Excellent ValueI purchased this camera for livestreaming at my church, and it really shines compared to what I was expecting for the price. More expensive cameras I was considering were listed at having 4-8 MP (compared to the only 3MP on this Sunba), but I noticed they only support 30fps at 1080p, and the frame rate drops when you go to higher resolutions. (So why spend more money for no benefit?)The 20x optical zoom on this camera is fantastic. I’ve attached a couple pictures to show zooming in to about 50 feet away at the church (apologies for it being a bit crooked, it’s mounted to a temporary fixture while I was testing the camera). My only complaint is that for this case it focused on the floor behind the pianist, rather than the pianist (I think I need to work on my focusing).I was able to get an RTSP feed off the camera in OBS using the gStreamer plugin without a problem (highly recommend using gStreamer as the latency is much better than using a VLC source).PTZ functions are smooth, and I REALLY appreciate that the speed of the Pan/Tilt changes depending on zoom level. So if you’re at Step 1 (slowest) and zoomed in all the way (20x), you’ll get approximately the same “visual speed” for pan/tilt operations as if you’re zoomed out. The other cameras I tested did NOT do this.Setup and control was painless using the provided VMS software (both Mac & PC). There is no browser based interface for this camera (but that’s ok).Lastly, tech support got back to me pretty quickly with my question about the overlays for Preset & Zoom. The camera defaults to displaying “Preset X” whenever you hit the “go to preset” button, and “x” (where is the zoom level) when you’re zooming in/out. Apparently you call preset 94 to hide the preset info, and call preset 93 to display it. (I wish this was an actual control, but I’m happy to be able to turn it on and off).

Update.I have been working with Sunba to make some improvements in my overall system and updated the software. Sunba has been excellent and patient in helping me improve this camera’s operating environment, and other than a little choppiness during heavy peak internet usage during the day, this camera, especially for the price, has been really good and stable. It’s night time clarity and zoom capabilities are amazing for a camera in this ‘inexpensive’ price range. I would like to state that Sunba’s help staff, in particular, Robin, have been beyond good. I retract all of the unjustified negative things I initially said about this camera. When you buy this or any other camera, make sure that the software for it is the latest version, which takes all of about two minutes to update. Thank you Sunba.

Somewhat disappointing…This PTZ camera has the potential to be a great camera for the price point but is instead pretty disappointing. It seems to really have problems switching between day and night. You can set it to work well on one or the other but not for both. The software is terrible, no control or configuration from a browser and poor integration with my Synology NVR, even as an ONVIF camera.Tech support did respond but was completely useless. When I requested the camera be replaced because it functions so poorly, they quit responding to me.Do yourself a favor and spend a few more dollars for a better PTZ Camera.

Fabulous Optical Zoom – Excellent Day and Night VisionThis ECO version PTZ camera is AMAZING! The night vision sample is in total darkness (you can’t see your own hand in front of your face). The workforce poster taped to the far wall is 60 feet away, on a reflective plastic wall insulation, zoomed in, you can read parts of the poster (again this is in total darkness, no ambient light). The optical zoom is fabulous. The zoomed in image is behind the blue car in the zoomed out image, crazy amazing. Set-up is east, but you must read the instructions (all English). I also emailed questions about other cameras and received quick answers. If your not familiar with ethernet cameras, read up or get a friend to help. They’ve made set-up easy, but I am a tech savvy geek. I love this so much I bought the none ECO version for $70 more. This iOS set up (iPhone, iPad and now new M1 Mac computers) allows you to just scan a bar code and boom, you’re up and running.

The P636’s little brotherIf you don’t need to take pictures of galaxies not visible to the naked eye get this instead of the P636. 300+ foot of great night vision and good enough everything else really. Love mine, only wish it used the same android app as the P636.

no consistancyThis was my second one and although the field of view is small the first one has been a good camera. now the second one? not so much. It does not connect well at all in Blue Iris although the other is working perfectly in it. I have checked ALL settings and they are the same but Motion detect not working and it is unable to view unless using onvif which the first does not require. not sure why the same exact model number would not work the same! Finding a way to contact Sunba, well lets just say I haven’t found it yet!
