Description
Working remotely has become normalized in many industries, meaning more people are spending more hours in virtual meetings, whether it is Zoom, Skype, or Google online conference calls.
If you are spending more time on online meetings, it might be a good time to give your home office an upgrade with a decent speakerphone for your work demands. Standard speakerphones on the market are with limited functionality, either connect via Bluetooth wirelessly needed the battery recharged, or occupy one of your USB-C ports which you might need for laptop charging, external monitor extension, or connections for other accessories.
SIIG’s one of the kind JU-DK0S11-S1 helps you resolve all those demands above. Designed to be versatile and portable, this multitasking speakerphone is equipped with one 4K HDMI port for monitor extension, two USB 3.0 5Gbps ports for data or device connection, and 100W power delivery (85 watts charging) via the same USB-C cable for your Windows laptop or Apple Macbook.
- It allows you easily set Mirror/ Extend/ Primary video mode, and stream video to an HDTV monitor or projector for the perfect visual display.
- It includes one 3.5mm audio jack for stereo output.
- The built-in touch control panel on the top of the speakerphone with LED lights that indicate whether your laptop is connected, on a call, and whether your microphone is muted.

- It is compatible with all laptops and desktops with a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt mode or Thunderbolt 3 signal.

No-frills USB-C dock with speakerphone; keep your laptop closed!
I currently have a work set up with a Macbook where I have a dongle for a “dock” that I connect my keyboard and mouse to and then a monitor. I keep the Macbook closed and on a stand when using it. When I have meetings, I always pull out my headset, as the built-in mic/speakers are not very useful when the Macbook is closed. I came across this speakerphone + dock combo unit and it got me to thinking this would be perfect! I have various quick meetings or just ad-hoc talking and pulling out the headset every time isn’t necessary, so just wanted to be able to chat without it.So I’ll start off with as a dock — so far it has been working very well. I have the Macbook USB-C charger plugged in to the dock and then another USB-C to USB-C cable between the dock and the Macbook. I have my monitor plugged in to the HTML port of the dock and the keyboard/mouse in the two USB-A ports. My headset is Bluetooth, so it doesn’t use the dock. The dock functions have been working well without any hiccups. The speakerphone has been great! For talking, the other party sounds nice and clear and they they hear me well. I just have it off to the side on my desk without issue. I really love the built-in volume and mute controls — especially the indicator light for the mic status. I disabled the Macbook built-in mic to ensure Zoom doesn’t automatically switch to it for some reason, so I can rely on the mic status displayed for if anyone can hear me or not. This is a really great solution if you just need a simple dock and either your built-in mic is terrible or you want to keep the laptop closed.
