Good Sound, somewhat pricey for the product
I wanted an upgrade for my desktop PC basic speakers. This product achieved that. The bass sounds good for gaming and playing music. The volume level is adequate for me. This is not going to replace a large home stereo system. I was leery about the wireless connection between the sub woofer and the controlling speaker, but have had no issues. I am using the provided rca (controlling speaker out) to aux port (headphone in) on my pc. I wanted to ditch my gaming headset and go to a quality speaker, this accomplished that goal. My only issue is the remote, it takes several attempts to power on the speakers and to turn them off. I do question if a speaker system for half the cost would have also met my needs. 4 of 5 stars – price and remote knock off a star.

    These are good speakers
TLDR – They are goodReplacing a 15 year old set of $35 Logitech 2.1 computer speakers. They still work, but I noticed that they were getting muddy and music sounded bad compared to some inexpensive earbuds. These are not the most expensive Edifiers, but I figured for basically computer desk duty they’ll be adequate. I need them to do computer speaker duty but also movie and music duty as this is in my office/man-cave.There is one drawback, these speakers will let you know shortcomings in your music collection. You can tell when you’re listening to FLAC. Not kidding.I’m not an audiophile. Hard core audiophiles don’t shop at this price point. Those people use words I just don’t know the meaning of. All I know is these speakers are good. There are audiophiles on the internet who reviewed these speakers and they said they were good and they used all the fancy audiophile words. So, go find those. From my perspective, the highs, mids and lows are all there, nothing is missing. Of course, I’m going from some worn out cheap computer speakers so there’s that.As I type this I’m listening to some jazz at 320kbit and I can find no faults. But I probably wouldn’t find fault in some really good wine out of a box.The sub is good. It’s not going to shake your walls down, consider the size and wattage we’re talking here. It’s perfectly adequate considering the speakers it is paired with. You notice it when watching a good action movie. It isn’t obtrusive, the lows fill in nicely and don’t overpower the rest of the music. Apparently that is good.Overall the sound is “warm” in my opinion – probably due to the wood structure. I like that. These speakers are heavy. They are well made. What you’re paying for here, I suspect, is build quality and quality of the components as much as design. I don’t know that Edifier is doing anything design-wise of the actual speakers that hasn’t been done for decades already, but they seem to have put together a really good package for a reasonable price.Bluetooth works well. RCA inputs work fine. They give you gold plated cables, which is nice. Did not try optical yet.If I needed to fill a larger space than this office I’d probably go for their larger and more expensive 350 model found on this site.I will definitely be looking at this brand in the future when the need arises. Are they worth the price? So far I think so. Logitech makes some very popular 2.1 sets for less, but I just didn’t want speakers that look like computer speakers, I wanted a good quality 2.1 bookshelf type set that would work on my computer desk, and that is these. Plus, these are actually available and I could get them in 2 days.

    Acceptable
So i just bought these, only used for a few days, here is my initial review. The subwoofer is not entirely “wireless,” it still has to be plugged into the wall. maybe that was assumed, but just FYI. the subwoofer is HUGE though, much bigger/louder/more powerful than i was expecting which is nice. The speakers are absolutely beautiful. i bought this one as opposed to the wood finish model b/c this one has fabric covers and looks more modern, and i am SO happy with the look of these. I bought this type of speaker system solely bc i needed something that was compatible w/ my mac desktop, but the cords included don’t even work with it. i’m not sure if i’m doing somethign wrong and not hooking it up properly, but my mac would not recognize this as an “input/Output” so i ended up just using the bluetooth connection. that worked instantly, and honestly its one less cord to worry about so i suppose no harm no foul, but just FYI i could not get this to work with my mac as either a speaker/line-in or a headphone jack/aux in. the power button on the top of the speaker and the remote are both really helpful, which the (older) wood finish model does not have. the remote is a lil sticky at times, but i enjoy the functionality of both of them. The only qualm i have so far is that when watching movies/tv, the treble (and voices) are somewhat low when compared to the overall volume and bass from the speakers. Even when i have both my mac and the speakers turned all the way up, the voices aren’t that high but the bass is almost too high. My old speaker system (and the other Edifier wood finish model of these) has the treble/bass adjustment knobs which i now am REALLY missing. I think those would help this issue when i’m watching TV. the weird thing is when im playing music on spotify this doesn’t happen and the voice/vocals sounds just as loud as the song. I will try to update this review in another few weeks, still unsure if i will keep these or swap them out for the wood ones that have the treble adjuster.

    Great sound
    Sounds amazing

Great speakers, wireless sub is a nice feature
Bought these for a tiny office, and they are probably way overpowered for the space, but that’s the way it should be 🙂 They sound great, even at high volume, no distortion. Bluetooth works flawlessly, very easy to connect, and the wireless sub is really nice, I love not having the extra cords running below my desk. Beware, these are much larger than regular desktop speakers, so if you’re using them for a computer, make sure you have the space. It was a solid purchase, especially because I got them Used – Very Good from the Edifier store, so $60 off.

  6. Starmax

    Sounds muffled
The hardware looks very nice. Unfortunately it feels to me that the sound is muffled, like there is a chunk of mid tones missing. Something amiss. And, as others said, no EQ control which would have been nice to turn the bass down and make it much better. I don’t like that the left and right speaker cord is a bit short and thin. I will keep these, but I will try another speaker set next time.

  7. Maze Allen

Way better than using Headphones all day.
I read the complaints about a “buzzing noise” and with the familiarity with amplifiers made me think that every one was putting the speakers to max volume and keeping their device on low.I was right. I turned down the speakers two notches and turn my PC up and my music and TV shows rumble the floor and the set up was as easy as plugging in two things to a surge protector and the left speaker into the right.I’m extremely happy about this purchase as it has improved my leisure Tim experience 10x from wearing headphones all day.In this price range? This is a great buy.

    Perfect for computer
I love at the Edifier products. These give me great sound at a reasonable price. Finally have power and Quality sitting at my computer.

    Connected to multiple devices
I am very happy with the purchase. I connected it to my main PC using optic fiber, to PS4 using lines, and my Mac using Wifi. Then switch back and forth to the device I use, extremely convenient with the remote control. The sound quality is truly good for gaming. I used to go downstairs to my home studio in the basement to play games on PS4 using my 11-speaker atmos setup. Now I feel it good enough to play games on PS4 in my home office instead so that I can switch between PC, Mac and PS4 without going downstairs.

    MUST BUY FOR SIT/STAND DESKS!!!
This product is better than my Logitech THX rated 2.1 speakers AND it has a wireless subwoofer. If you have a sit/stand motorized desk, this is a must buy for you!!You won’t regret it. Less wires running under your desk and full deep sound!!!! It also has bluetooth compability for using wirelessly just in case you decide to go wireless.
