Trends in Virtual Events That Won’t Go Away
Virtual events make up about 30% of all events held on Splash.
Since they let advertisers to reach consumers worldwide, they are low-budget yet frequently very rewarding.
However, because the stakes are lower, marketers may easily set production and audience engagement on autopilot.
Our goal was to identify the essential elements that have contributed to the success of virtual events and will continue to do so.
Here is our selection of long-lasting virtual event trends.
Asking Your Audience to Participate Since you have to establish a relationship with them through a screen, virtual events inherently provide a problem for audience engagement.
How best to counter it? Incorporate interactive elements into your events.
If someone is talking the entire time or diverted by emails, Slacks, and other duties, it’s easy for participants to tune in and tune out.
They must be involved if we are to maintain their engagement. Although surveys, chat, and polls are excellent attention-getters, they are not always effective.
Here are a few more to maintain interest over time:
Invite visitors on stage and host a live Q&A session with speakers.
Organize workshops where participants may exchange issues, obtain feedback, and discover best practices from one another.
Add a lighthearted game with a Kahoot tool! (This is a favorite among our staff).
Post a social media link in your event chat, and everybody who interacts with it will be entered into a raffle to win a reward at the conclusion.
After the event, arrange for networking so that guests can get to know one another and/or learn more about a certain subject.
Pro tip: Gather the questions attendees may have concerning the subject of your program by using the registration form. Organize your event around the most frequently requested questions; keep the remainder for a live Q&A session at the conclusion, a follow-up event, or other material.
