This boombox 💥 priced just fine
Shippingis fast. I’ve got a rechargeable version. For the money I paid this is a good value. Everything works good and when I put good quality disks in it, it sounds really good, actually. I wish this thing has a little more power , but still it is very acceptable . Recommend

Solid unit with a lot going for it, but FM receiver lacking
The Toshiba TY-CWU510 has a lot going for it. It’s very portable, rechargeable, nice handle, solid feel, cool remote control, and strong sound output. Not earth shattering, but for it’s size not too bad. The EQ choices make a big difference in tone, which is good since there’s not a manual tone/EQ control. To my ears, overall the sound is a little brittle (like a class D amp can sound without sufficient smoothing), it’s far from warm and smooth. But I was really disappointed with the FM receiver. The selectivity and sensitivity are both pretty lousy, like the FM was an afterthought and stuck some cheap chip inside for it. (IDK the design, it’s just how I interpret the FM performance). FM radio is very important to me so I returned it. If it doesn’t matter to you and just want to jam via bluetooth, CD, or aux then you may like it for the money. I give it 4 stars for everything it does right, but take away 1 star for lacking FM performance. I think a “boombox” should be designed with quality radio receiver. (I’m ordering a Sangean radio; that company does radio right.)

Best Boombox Under $100 Guaranteed!
This is the One! Stop looking, buying and returning. This boombox has the Bass!! I thought I would never find a portable CD Boombox that had Good Quality Clear Sound & Bass but then I found this great one. No issues with this system listed as the “Toshiba Wireless Bluetooth Boombox Speaker: Portable CD Boom Box with FM Radio, Remote & LED Lights TY-CWU510”. Trust me, this is what you have been searching for all along, as it has almost every modern feature available in a boombox. The only thing missing is a cassette deck but I can live without that anyway. Features include Bluetooth Version 5.0, Ability to play MP3, USB Input, Built-in Rechargeable Lithium Batteries 2,600mAh, Remote Controller, Five EQ Modes, Aux In Jack, Phone Jack, Disco LED Lights that can be turned off or on, Top Loading CD Player compatible with CD, CD-R, CD-RW, FM Stereo Radio, AC Cord, Two Passive Speakers to enhance Bass Reflex, 10 watts each for a total of 20 watts. I thought this boombox was going to be smaller and I was going to be disappointed but it’s a fair size when considering portability and weight. This is an amazing find. I highly recommend this system as it is guaranteed to be the best sounding CD boombox with Acceptable Bass under a $100. What this boombox is not, is an extremely super loud, wake the whole street up, shake your windows and vibrate the whole house sounding system, so If that’s what you want, then you’ll have to pay at least $300 to $1,000 or more and I don’t think that a CD Boombox would even be capable of such feats anyway, so if you want that, then you’re really expecting too much from a portable CD boombox. But wait! don’t get me wrong, this system has Awesome Bass Sound anyway. Toshiba should pay me for this review, just saying . . . . Now If anyone has seen my reviews before on Amazon, they will know I don’t exaggerate, whether positive or negative, I just state the facts. Go ahead and get it now! Important, get the model with the Rechargeable Batteries because that is what I believe is the newer version and the one I reviewed. Ignore any negative reviews because they are not accurate and don’t worry. It is truly a “Boombox” with Quality Bass and amazing features, so Just get it.

This is a great boom box. Glad I picked this one!
Modern electronics are so hit or miss. This one so far is definitely a hit. The CD player works great, tuner works good, but we mostly use bluetooth. Sound quality is perfectly good for what we want. The bass isn’t super deep but it’s acceptable. The only two negatives are really not even a big deal at all. First, the speakers don’t have any covers or protection at all – so I bought some generic 4″ covers and hot glued them on. Looks like crap, but I don’t care. Better than damaged speakers. The second thing is even less of a big deal. The “feet” or supports on the bottom of the boom box are kind of oddly placed and shaped so that you have to be careful where you set it down and make sure that it’s centered/balanced and not going to fall. and you can’t put it on any soft surface like a bed or it will tip right over due to the weird bottom supports. so, other than those two things we love the boom box.

Good value
Unit was a little larger than I expected, sound good for a portable unit. Remote control works well but would have been better if it included a remote on/off function!!

Good Sound….but
It is a nice looking boombox with good sound but…There is NO POWER BUTTON ON THE REMOTE CONTROL. You have to go to the radio to turn it on and you have to switch to a different function such as USB or CD to silence (not turn it off) the radio if you don’t feel like going to the radio to turn it off. The antenna only goes straight up. It can’t be maneuvered side to side which sometimes helps with reception. The battery case does not snap in and out. A screwdriver is required, so travel with a screwdriver in case your batteries stop working while you are away from home. It’s digital so I can’t get the in-between stations.

A dud at 1 year
This item is a disappointment because I played cd’s on it for 1 year and today it failed. The total time of usage within the year was approximately 100 hours. The troubleshooting guide said to replace batteries because the speakers were popping and unit would not play a cd. I continued to get AM/FM but the popping would start again after a few minutes. I could still get blue tooth. When I went to replace the batteries as suggested, I discovered the port did not contain the proper metal casing to support batteries. I originally purchased a unit for rechargeable batteries. I followed all the suggested troubleshooting suggestions but no luck.
