Description
The Rockville RockMix5 is the perfect solution for gyms, restaurants, podcasting, karaoke, recording and more. This compact mixer is packed with all of the important features that you need. The built in USB interface allows you to record onto your favorite DAW or interface with your computer for playback. The recordings will be super clear because our mic pre-amp is clean with low noise. This feature makes this product perfect for recording music or podcasting in real time. The 2-band EQ and panning allows you to customize the sound on channel 1. We also added echo, making this perfect for singing or just getting your voice to sound great on a podcast or recording. We added Bluetooth playback so you can have wireless playback if you are using this in a gym, restaurant, in your home, or any other place where you do not want to hard wire your playback device. With 2 stereo channels and 1 mono channel this mixer is very versatile. There is also an extra 3. 5mm mic input if you need to plug in a secondary microphone. The clipping indicators will prevent you from adding too much gain making it easy to set your levels accurately. This solid steel mixer is built like a Rock! Every component including all potentiometers and knobs are extremely high grade. If you want to podcast on the go you are in luck! This mixer is BUS powered! There are 3 ways to get power to this mixer. The bus power allows you to plug the USB cable into your laptop or computer and power the mixer. We also include an adapter so you can plug it into a wall outlet. Another option is you can use a power bank to give power to the mixer since it only requires 5 volts of power. This mixer is loaded with so many features we almost forgot to mention that channel 1 supports condenser mics since it has 18 volts of phantom power

Great Mixer/Audio InterfaceThis is a sturdy, well-built mixer. It is made of metal, and all the knobs and buttons are solidly made. There are four combo inputs, all of which have 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. The first two inputs also have compressors, which is awesome if you know what you are doing. The main mix has both 1/4″ and XLR outputs, which is rare at this price point. It also has monitoring outputs and headphone outputs as well. Apart from the 8 inputs, you can also connect via USB/RCA inputs, and also easily connect an input via Bluetooth. There are not many good mixers + audio interfaces out there. If there is a USB audio interface connection from a mixer, it mostly records in mono. Not this one. If an input is in stereo, then so is the output mix. This is exactly what I was looking for. The audio interface in this mixer alone is worth $70. Moreover, the mix has almost no noise when it is output to a DAW on a computer. The recordings I have from it have come out great! If you are looking for a mixer with multiple inputs, excellent outputs and a great audio interface at a very affordable price, then look no further. The people at Rockville rock!

Not for Zoom Meeting or any Online Conversational SituationI have both the ROCKMIX 4 & 8 so I’ll be comparing the two.Coming from ROCKMIX 4, I had high hopes for the ROCKMIX 8, with more inputs and knobs.Unfortunately, by default, this mixer is set to Loopback, meaning, people on the other end of the line would hear their own voices back, unless you’re muted. And I could not figure out how to make it not loopback. With ROCKMIX 4, you have the option to flip the switch from Loopback to other sources, but not with ROCKMIX 8. So, you cannot use this in any virtual meetings or any conversational type of situation online. And it’s a pain to keep muting/unmuting yourself every time just to prevent others from hearing themselves when they speak. That’s a big downside for me so I’m might be returning the product.Another thing to note, with ROCKMIX 4 the main mix volume knob is independent to the rest of the volume so even when you turn the knob all the way down, you’d still get signal of your voice on the computer, but not with ROCKMIX 8. With ROCKMIX 8 you’d need to turn it up to be able to send signal of your mixer to your computer. It took me a while to figure this out because I can hear myself through the headset but wondered why I could not be heard in Zoom. No biggie but just something to note.Other than that, the mixer is pretty decent for other use cases.**Update: I found a workaround to my problem by using FX Send as mixer OUTPUT to the computer. And then another cable going back from the computer to the the mixer (Channel 5-6) so I can hear any playback from the computer through my headphone. So I don’t use the built-in USB feature anymore. I tried using it once to receive audio from the computer. But it’s flaky (sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t), so I decided not to.Anyway, if I wanted the LOOPBACK function, then I’d just use the FX knob and turn it up; if not, I’ll turn it down. But doing all these, I had to get me some more accessories, like, an Audio Jack Adapter, a couple of cables and a couple of 1/4 inch male to 1/8 inch female TRS adapters. So far everything works ok. The the quality is also ok. At times I’m getting random noise somewhere, I could not locate what’s causing it, but at times it’s working fine.

Not a bad Mixer, but super sensitive to interferenceI use this Mixer for making voice over demos with my XLR mic and another computer for audio related to the video. I loved the fact it has USB so I can easily hook it up to my work laptop. The downside is it is very susceptible to electrical interference from the other electronics on my desk. I will saw I was surprised when I saw it was also powered with a USB cable. It makes me question a bit on the build quality. Other than that it has the live EQ I’m looking for. Just need to figure out how to get rid of that interference as the buzz is starting to get annoying.

A Dream Come TrueI’ve been a singer for years. I’ve done some small time work, but mainly an avid amateur. For some time I’ve been searching for a system to make quality recordings of my vocals without expensive studio time. Here it is. I can pipe my audio backing tracks right in via Bluetooth. Either from my phone or MP3 player. Monitor is a snap by plugging in my karaoke speaker. (Or almost any kind of speaker or headphones.) The sound quality is superb. The supplied connector gives me the lead to my laptop for recording. The Rockmix5 is compact and rugged. I’m on the road 98% of the time so it’s easy to take with me. I love it. Wish I had got it ages ago.

Buy it!!If your an solo artist to just a motivational speaker to just a teacher needing something to use at school pep rally’s theb BUY IT!! Rockville has out did their selves with this one, rockmix2 is the perfect size to not be a bother when packing up and taking whatever it is you do and travel all around. The build is solid with all metal casing all the way around. You have to try to break this thing. I wish the eq was alittle bigger but it will do and that’s just trying to find something to complain about. I hope you bih it and I know you will enjoy!!!

Cute, Capable, CraftyThis guy works great! Needed a USB DI interface for a while, didn’t have 100 bucks to drop on the name brand one. Phantom power is no big deal, the lines work, haven’t played with the bluetooth yet. I like the mini-mixer and echo fx that I can adjust in the line, without having to deal with computer program adjustments. For the price, it does a good job! It’s a little interesting to learn on, but very straightforward. I just pressed all the buttons and twiddled all the knobs before figuring things out. Gain is interesting. Right now I have the computer’s headphone jack plugged in as line in, so I can capture the desktop audio. Routing the audio outside the computer and then putting it back in through the usb is so nice.Next, to try some instruments out on it!
