Buying a name
Your paying a lot of money just to tell people your tools are made by music nomad. There is absolutely nothing unique or special about these tools. The octopus is a cool idea; i like the composite material as it will not damage finishes, but everything else are mediocre quality tools you can buy anywhere. One of the driver heads is already stripped.*****Update*****My original review was for 2 stars. I’ve upped it to 4 stars. While i stand by the comments i made previously about the tools being available anywhere, i contacted Music Nomad directly and they promptly (received within 3 days) replaced the bit that stripped. Tools break. I’ve broken plenty of Matco and Snap On tools in the past. Good tool companies stand behind their product, and that is exactly the experience I’ve received from Music Nomad.

A great kit that will save you a ton of setup costs
If you own multiple guitars, like I do, then this could save you a lot of money in the long run. As long as you are patient and consider yourself relatively handy with simple tools. A setup alone can be 60 to 100 dollars. This gives you step by step instructions with a set of well-built tools to do the setups yourself. One of my guitars developed fret buzz when I changed the strings. So I set it up with this kit following the easy steps. The action is great now, intonation is perfect and the fret buzz is gone. I only gave 4 stars because the original shipment was missing parts and the replacement was also missing parts. Finally I got the correct bundle on the third try. Customer service and the vendor themselves were helpful in solving the issue eventually.

Great Kit For Setup and Assembly
I thought these kits were pricey for what they are, then used one in a guitar building class and had to get it. It’s great to have on the bench while doing assembly and setup. Everything is right there, saving time and taking less space than the individual tools. The big selling point for me is the handle for the bit kit. Seems gimmicky having the nut driving section, but it’s actually quite genius. You can tighten tuners without scratching the hardware (especially black hardware). The Allen bits being small enough for saddle height screws is impressive. Even the spanner has a soft rubber bottom to avoid finish scratches. The measuring tools are solid and not as sharp as the cheapo ones you find here. The budget ones work fine but can scratch finishes if you’re not careful. The truss rod kit is great just because of the acorn nut wrenches. I fell in love with those early on when I ordered them individually. The Phillips head on the bottom is perfect for truss rod covers. The kit’s not cheap, but if you do setup and/or assembly regularly it’s worth the price of admission. Definitely recommend the bit kit over the StewMac one because of the handle. It’s nice to have more options for premium guitar tools, and Music Nomad hasn’t disappointed me yet.

Expensive
Nice little kit with all the basic tools you’ll need to set up most any guitar but a little too expensive for what you actually get

Excellent kit!
This kit is extremely well thought out and designed. Incredibly user friendly with great support. I was going to buy just one piece of the kit, and elected to purchase the entire kit. I’m so happy I did! I look forward to purchasing more products from Musicnomad!

These guys actually put some thought into this!
I thought these were incredibly cool especially for how much they were. I have bought other little guitar tool kits that come in thin, cheap little zipper baggies that don’t even fit the tools properly. These guys put a lot of thought into this product. Two of the tool cases are molded aluminum very sturdy and all the tools fit tightly and neatly inside of it. The one case that isn’t metal is a nice thick zippered case not a bag. The best part is that it actually comes with a little manual that shows you how to use the tools! I’m pretty sure there are links to videos on how to use them as well but it’s nice to have the little manual for reference. Even the manual is made from thick high gloss quality paper and you can actually read the words without a magnifying glass. I bought a few products from these guys and I will probably buy more because so far it seems like they actually care what they’re making rather than just gathering tools made by somebody else and throwing them into a bag calling them a kit. Maybe not the highest quality set of tools I don’t know I haven’t had very many different sets of guitar tools but they work great for me. When you consider price, customer service, and the fact that the cases allow you to keep your tools in the same location so they’re always there when you need them.

Nice to have but expensive
It’s a good set and I’m happy I bought it, I just really don’t think it’s worth so much money ($219 at time of purchase). I guess you pay for the convenience of having everything you need for your guitar at hand in one neat package.

For those with many guitars – a great bundle.
Combined with Music Nomad’s excellent instructional videos on YouTube, this set gave me the confidence to start setting up my arsenal of guitars. In Australia, a standard setup costs around $100+. It didn’t take long for this bundle to pay for itself, and I have the satisfaction of maintaining my own guitars. While on the expensive side, the set has been well thought-out in terms of gauge visibility, sizing for different brands and models, and it is very small and portable. For the travelling band, it’s great to take on the road. While I had previously purchased cheaper bits and pieces for guitar setups, I hadn’t had the confidence to use them. The Music Nomad bundle and its associated videos gave me that confidence. Sure, you can find cheaper products but this bundle has everything, in a very compact format.
