Surprising Quality For The BrandI’ve tested several Herdio speakers and compared them to a few Monoprice speakers I have and I must admit that I was somewhat surprised by the sound quality of these speakers. While it still falls behind the Monoprice speakers I have, I think these speakers are the best quality Herdio speakers I’ve tried (the closest is the 5.25” rectangle speaker they make, they are definitely a higher quality sound than the 6.5” round speaker Herdio makes). That being said, the sound quality is still somewhat poor, though at about $27 a piece, that’s not overly surprising. The speakers look and feel like a quality speaker, but the sound quality just doesn’t compare to the quality of sound from other speaker brands I’ve tested. If you just need a cheap speaker with Prime shipping, these are OK, but if you’re looking for a quality speaker I’d probably recommend a different brand, unless they improve as they iterate through newer models in later years.

Wonderful speakersThese speakers are A-1 quality for the price. When it comes to installing electronic devices, I always yield to someone more skilled than myself. But the installation itself did not take as long as I expected, which was under 20 minutes. I love the Bluetooth capabilities. The sound is amazingly clear, as clear as leading brands.

Good ValueThis is my second set of Herdio speakers, and I am a fan. They sound great for the price, are easy to install, and are solidly made.

Incredible speakersI really, really like this speakers. To be honest, I’m surprised they’re at the price point they are – they sound fantastic. They arrived well-packed, and when I pulled them out of the boxes, I thought maybe I’d been sent the wrong ones. The fit and finish on these is pretty spectacular. I used two of these on a virtual pinball cabinet build I’m doing, and it’s kind of like putting a Porche engine in a VW. I’m using an 80 watt amp, and these speakers are making it sound absolutely amazing. The amp has bluetooth built in, so the pinball cabinet gets used as a jukebox now, as well. The highs are very clear with no tinniness, and the bass response has impressive lows, and there is no clipping at all.I hope this was helpful – I plan to pick up another set of these and use the remaining 2 from this set and the 4 new to install in the ceiling (you know, like what they’re supposed to be used for). If you’re in the market for some home speakers, I’d highly recommend these.

Clarity is ok. Bass is not that good.Bass is not that good.It definitely needs an amplifier, or else its weak.I wish it is Bluetooth, unfortunately its not.But if your amplifier has Bluetooth, it will have Bluetooth. Or you can add Bluetooth adaptor on your amplifier.Good sound quality.

5.25 inch speakers easily distort. These speakers come in several sizes and you can see which ones I chose from the title of my review. The overall diameter is approximately 8.5 inches. The cut out to mount them is 7.3 inches. The depth is approximately 4.5 inches. As you can see in the accompanying photos, the speakers come well packed. There are two boxes of two speakers packed within a larger box. Everything came through shipping in pristine condition. The speakers have a small square opening (which you can see in my photo of the two speakers) and you can use a dowel or chopstick or something non-damaging to push off the grill. According to the manual in the photo, the old method of securing the grill was with something sticky while the new method is to use magnetism. The grill is backed with what appears to be very, very light cloth or polyester material to keep out bugs or dirt.Mounting in the wall or ceiling is simple. Cut the hole to 7.3 inches and insert the speaker assembly. Tighten the four screws to secure the speaker. The four legs of the assembly swing out and tension the speaker to the wall. Just be sure to run your speaker wires prior to mounting the speaker. Again, in my photos, you can see the simple push connectors used on the speakers, they are pretty standard. The ends of the speaker wire supplied are already tinned.I hooked up the speakers to a stereo that is supposed to put out a max 75 Watts of power per speaker channel. This is well below the rating of the speakers 150 Watt maximum. The rated frequency of the speakers is 60Hz-20kHz. These look like paper cone speakers and NOT polypropylene. There is a warning to not put these in a damp environment like a bathroom. I guess that would also apply to outdoor areas even if they are covered.I played Country Western, Rock, and assorted other genres. The speakers sounded fine at lower levels. I have similar size speakers in several room of my house that do not sound as good from 10 or 12 feet (the higher ceilings in my house). However, as I cranked up the volume, the sound got a bit distorted. For background music at a party of to hear a ball game without watching the action, these are good speakers. If you want to hear every nuance of the Berlin Symphony, you need better
