Great camera for our church servicesI can say that this camera is a really good quality camera with a very good picture. We have the 1080p 12x zoom version. This is plenty of zoom range for us, as our sanctuary is only about 65 feet from front to back. If your’s is larger, then you may want the 20x zoom. But at that distance, we can zoom right up to the speaker and fill the screen (though we don’t every zoom this close). So this 12x gives us plenty of versatility. We stream our services using Zoom, and it integrates and works flawlessly. It does take about 30-40 seconds to fully boot up from standby mode. This is no problem for us. We use the HDMI output and purchased an HDMI to USB3.0 Video Capture adapter to connect to the computer. The Pan/Tilt/Zoom functions work very well, and you can even slow down or speed up the Pan speed to look smoother on the screen. It has 9 positional presets that you can save using the remote control. We are so small, we don’t have a separate PTZ controller. We just use the IR remote to move the camera to our 3 preset positions when we need to move it. The color is very good, as well. But this will vary depending on your room’s color scheme and lighting.I think the wall bracket needs improvement, though. It is thin metal bent at a 90-degree angle and has no inside corner welded support. This means when we have an extreme move of the Pan/Tilt (far right to the center position, for instance.) the bracket wobbles and vibrates causing the image to shake for a few seconds. This is only a minor annoyance for us, though. You could prevent this by installing it on a stronger shelf or even on the ceiling if it isn’t too high. I would not recommend installing it on a ledge or shelf attached to a platform that you walk on, as the vibrations from your walking will definitely cause the image to shake. This would occur no matter how expensive the camera is. Ours is wall mounted.

exceeded my expatations with some issuesI have not used a PtZ camera before but the price of this one was attractive. I had been using two older “full hd” camcorders on a balcony zooming to the front of the church and a go pro camera for an overall shot. I hooked this up using the HDMI output direct to an atem mini video switcher and did not connect the USB at all using the ir remote to program and control the camera. The good: The picture quality is excelent even with the low light. My camcorders could not handle the low light and looked blurry and noisy. This camera gives a crisp clean picture in the same lighting conditions. The unit seems well built and was a breeze to set up. The more zoom that was applied the more of a difference between my old cameras and this one. Saving camera positions was a breeze. I ended up using 8 of the 9 presets and the accuracy of the positions is very repeatable. The bad: The biggest flaw is this camera is it is very susceptible to vibrations. Anyone walking on our balcony shakes the camera enough to be unacceptable with the camara resting on the balcony railing. My old camera’s had the same issue but not as severe as this one. When the church bell rang it actually shook the camera enough to be unacceptable when zoomed in. I will be mounting this to a ceiling beam that does not flex with the balcony. putting this camera on a tripod is not recommended. That was the first thing I did and it was rediculously shaky (unusable) even when not zoomed in. I do admit it was a cheap tripod. If you are going to use this camera make sure you have a solid place to mount this. The next problem was the ir remote sensor is on the front of the camera. If you mount this on a balcony or anywhere that you are behind the camera, the remote does not work well if at all. As can be seen in the picture, I folded a sheet of paper that the camera is sitting on with a lip folded up to the front of the camera to reflect the ir signal back at the camera and was able to get it to work. This camera needs an ir sensor in the back to get around this issue. the alternate way to get around this issue would be to buy a wired joystick controller. That would completely respolve the remote issue and I may still do that depending on how I can get it to work after mounting it on the ceiling beam.A couple times while panning the camera, the hdmi output dropped momentarily (signal went to black) then came right back (maybe half a second or less). Not sure if there is a poor brush contact or other wiring issue. Given I would not be moving the camera while streaming (moves too fast and is dizzying to watch) if that happens, no one on the live stream will see it. If the problem gets more frequent or more severe I wil update the review.Overall given the price I am quite pleased with this camera. I wil lbe able to get two of these for the price of the camera I was going to get and I am very happy with the optics and sensor resolution.Update a week later: I mounted the camera upside down on the overhead beam and now walking on the balcony does not shake the camera. the video flip function works great although it does not reverse the controlls on the remote. Now left is right and up is down. that really isn’t a problem, just an observation. I will mostly be using preset locations anyway. I have not seen the viideo blanking issues while the camera is moving again so that is good news.

Very happy using with vMIxGlad we tried these cameras! We were looking for 2 cameras priced for a tight budget to be used with vMix for live streaming . Originally I ordered 2 similarly priced cameras of another brand that only had USB 2.0 output. When I connected the original cameras to vMix I found that when using the YUY2 format they had a decent picture but there was a lot of motion blur. It was recommended to try the MJPEG format. This mode solved the motion issue but the picture quality was horrible as our building has very low lighting. Increasing the lighting on the stage helped some but still not acceptable. I was told by vMix support that they didn’t support HD over USB 2.0 and I believe this was the issue with the motion blur with the original cameras. I decided to order and try this camera and try using the HDMI output. This required an adapter for inputting to the PC. I ordered 2 Elgato hd60 S+ hdmi to usb 3.0 capture devices since these are on the vMIx supported hardware list. Our PC has 3.0 USB inputs and this was plug and play, no special set up required. This did add to the overall cost but the results were night and day in comparison to the previous cameras we tried. Another issue with the other cameras we had tried was that they did a lot of autofocus adjustments when zooming in for close up -these cameras have not done any of that at all. I was very pleased with the quality of the image with these cameras in our low light setting. We are controlling these with a huddlecam controller using visca and rs485 wiring + and – connections . Easy to set up camera1/camera2 in the camera menu using the IR remote. I also like when panning the cameras with the huddlecam they can be precisely positioned. The previous cameras we tried went too far in each direction when tapping the joystick from side to side making it almost impossible to center the image. These cameras return to stored preset position 1 when powered on which is helpful. Used the ceiling mount to attach them upright on a ledge in our control room which worked well. After being quite frustrated with the previous cameras we have been very happy with these cameras.

CHEERS! Out-of-the-Box Working9/29/22I can only jump for joy and send major cheers up and out for this company and their camera. We purchased three and they arrived today. From the time of unboxing and connecting them to my middleware and my computer was less than an hour. The camera is a true plug and play versus the nonstop hassles I experienced with a set of cameras I purchased the week before. I had to purchased a ton of different cables in an effort to get that set to work, no luck. I came back out here to Amazon and landed on this specific camera…talk about hassle-free!!!I can say nothing but positive things with what comes with the camera. Did you notice the mounting brackets are INCLUDED versus an additional purchase???? Don’t blink on this model if you’re looking to complete your broadcasting/video needs without going into a huge amount of debt.

Amazing for the budgetI’ve used two cameras for several church congregations in different buildings. I’ve been overall very pleased for the picture and quality for the price paid.Good:* It’s 20x, which fantastic for the price.* The kit comes with a remote control and most necessary cables, including a hard to find correctly pinned out 8 pin mini DIN to DS9 pin serial cable for PTZ camera control.* Using a PTZ OBS plugin, I was able to control the camera via OBS, including setting and recalling presets. It’s not without flaws:* About once every 15 minutes the USB video will flicker for a few frames* Camera lets light in on deep zoom when there is a bright light overhead* The USB output is only 30 frames per second while HDMI is 60 frames per second* The focus at 20x is surprisingly tight, something can be in focus 150 feet away and something 155 feet away can be a bit blurry* To support PC camera control, you just need to purchase a DS9 serial to USB cable (these are pretty cheap and common).Overall, I’m happy. I rated it 4 stars only because of that flicker. But if I had to purchase another PTZ camera for the budget, I’d still go with this one.

Nice Camera with DrawbacksI purchased this camera for use at my school to be used to film ceremonies and special events. I have also used this camera to live stream a volleyball game with success. The image the camera delivers is very clear and nice. It’s plug and play, got picked up by Windows 10 with no fuss and works nicely in OBS.The remote control for the camera is annoying and to save and recall positions requires holding down both buttons instead of hitting save and then the number you want to save the position to.I could not get a PTZ software product to work with this camera so I bought a PTZ control panel to manage the cameras functions. They work together just fine (I didnt want faculty or students who will operate the device to be frustrated by the remote). The camera seems to be good in low light conditions and durable. The device took a knock when my coworker bumped the tripod over and no damage at all.I’m pleased with the purchase, but annoyed by the finicky remote and no support for software based PTZ controls.

Excellent Camera!I had previously purchased a FoMako USB web camera but with a lower zoom capability (12x) so when this camera became available I returned my first camera and purchased this one. Both cameras are excellent! They had everything in my wish list – very easy to install, no drivers needed to be downloaded. It is not an IP camera so it does not need an internet connection to be operational. The video quality is excellent. It has a remote control for zoom, tilt and pan (speed is adjustable). If what you need is to record an event or a front facing camera for your online meeting this is perfect! It has a wide angle that captures the whole area (church) with crisp focus. Zoom quality is excellent as well. It has camera settings so you can adjust exposure and turn backlight on and off. When this 20x zoom camera became available I requested for a return so that I can purchased this camera. The seller was very helpful and prompt. It does not have an audio/recording capability but that actually works out fine because the we have an input sound source in church. It has a wide angle that captures the whole area (church) with crisp focus. Zoom quality is excellent as well. I have tested quite a number of webcams and this FoMaKo camera is the best in terms of quality and price. Highly recommended!

An awesome PTZ for the price, ButSO want to keep it! priced perfect, great color, HDMI output the only reason I returned it is the fact that some of the features doesn’t work on my Sony PTZ REMOTE. like the menu you can turn it on but can’t turn it of via the Sony RM-BR300. the manual or auto focus doesn’t work as well. i really want to keep it but kinda dumb that they didn’t put an IR in the back of the camera UGHHH!

Surprisingly niceI’ve been doing a lot of sports livestreaming and sometimes it’s hard to find help to run multiple cameras, so I picked one of these up on a whim. The most surprising thing was the picture quality, I went in with low expectations but with some tweaking I was able to match the image up to my Panasonic AGAC30 and AGUX90 (out of the box the sharpening’s a little high). I’ve used it on 90+ events over the last 8 months or so and it’s been a great addition. It worked especially great in basketball where I was able to set it up to snap to presets for foul shots, jump balls, the home and away benches, etc

  10. Stella

Excellent!Very easy to use and delivers all in my wish list – it has backlight off/on option, exposure ranges from 1 to 10, so the glare from background objects can be reduced. It is very easy to install and very user-friendly. Its zoom capacity is 12x and has a wide angle option also. It can be mounted on a tripod. This camera is connected to the computer through a USB cable so you do not have to set up its IP address. The clarity or picture quality is very good. It does not have a mic, but that actually works very well in our church set up because we have a sound system in place. When you plug in the camera you do not have to worry about disabling its audio. I have gone through a lot of webcams but this one is a keeper. Highly recommended!
