Nice bit of kit
Works great – being the iTrack Solo Lightning it interfaces with my iPhone and iPad but with the USB, it can still interface with a PC (although I’ve not tried it, it does say it can in the manual). The one thing I would say, is that it doesn’t allow for charging of the iPhone or iPad (but then none of the other audio interfaces I’ve seen do either). I did check with Focusrite whether a lightning splitter would work to allow separate audio/data and power in order to power/charge the iPad and they said they know of no reason why not although they don’t officially support them (they’ve not tested such things with it). However the one I bought would not work – I had the data connection between the iTrack Solo and the iPad but the iPad was not charging (using the iPad charger of course to provide power to the lightning splitter). This may have been an issue with the lightning splitter of course – Apple don’t make these – they are made by 3rd parties and whatever order I tried connecting things it would not work – reviews show they are not always the most reliable so may well be that. However saying all this, as long as you switch the iPhone or iPad to airplane mode you can run whatever app you want for quite a while – probably a couple of hours or so while plugged into the iTrack Solo.

No usb c cable or adapter included
It’s a nice interface for solo recording. I’m writing this review mainly to warn people with more recent iPhones and iPads that this device does NOT have a usb c cable included in the package. You will either need a USB A to USB C adapter or you will need some sort of lightning to usb c adapter. Without either, you will not be able to hook it up to any of Apple’s recent mobile devices out of the box. This strikes me as a BIG oversight on Focusrite’s part. I understand that it’s inconvenient that Apple is changing their connectors so frequently, but considering the target market, they really should have included a usb c option.

Good sound but cable prone to breaking
The product is very easy to use with iPad and Garageband and the sound is of good quality. However, the lightning cable seems very fragile. I have had two of these and in both instances the cable has stopped working within about 6 months (despite me being VERY careful with it the second time round). The cable is also very expensive to replace on its own.

A musician’s best friend!
This device is brilliant, probably the best music technology I’ve bought in years. Plugged into my iPad Air, running Garageband, and connected to my hifi . . I have a very effective recording studio. The recorded sound from electric and acoustic guitars is excellent. I can control the levels and balance for drums (Garageband), bass (me), guitar (me) and voice (me). It has simple controls and useful indication of overload. A headphone socket allows for monitoring and private listening.Effects can be added to the guitar signal – no need for effects pedals! I could connect my digital piano too, but haven’t tried it yet.Any music I create is saved and can be converted to .mp3 and other formats. As you can tell, I am delighted.

AMAZING!!!!
Every now and then a product comes along that really makes you think “How did I get by before this?” This is definitely one of those. I use this almost every session that I have to record myself and listen back. This has become a very powerful tool in improving my playing and remembering riffs/songs I write. I typically use this with my iphone/ipad and use the camera app to quickly record ideas so that I don’t forget them. The camera app will pick this up as a stereo input, so you’ll only get one side unless you use a Y adapter from your source and plug into both inputs simultaneously. Fortunately, I have a line out from my mixer that I can easily split into both. I’ll record video with the camera app and it will automatically take the audio direct from the interface. I have also used this with DAW’s through my laptop (via USB) and my ipad (mainly garage band) and it performs with no issues at all! It’s awesome! Buy this thing and you won’t be sorry!

The best package
This thing is awesome. You don’t need an Apple device to use it but it will add to the usefulness. You can use it to record in garage band, you can use it to record in your PC, you can use it as an amp for your studio headphones. This and the Scarlett are virtually the same, so I’d go with either unless you only have a lightning compatible device.

WIN-WIN Situation
Fantastic …. lol I am recording stuff with a condenser mic on my iPhone … exactly what I wanted.. yes it definitely works with a laptop windows needs drivers and mac is plug and play even in catalina… make sure to use thick enough cable if using type c – 2.0 adapter or a really good adapter
