Absolutely Wonderful Lav MicThis AT831cW is an excellent lav mic. I’ve been chasing feedback and tinny sounding mic problems for a long time while using the standard Audio-Technica AT829cW lav mic that comes with the Audio-Technica 2000 and 3000 series mic rigs. I tried EQ-ing, better PA speakers, better mixer, better mic placement, wind screens, no wind screens, you name it, I tried it. Then I broke down and tried a couple new AT lav mic.The first one I tried was the MT830cW Omni Lav Mic. Way too hot, The omni pickup pattern just made my problems worse. After much online research, I came across the AT831cW. This condenser cardioid mic was the perfect solution. It’s much fuller, the tinnyness is gone, and feedback issues have been eliminated. I love the locking swivel clothing clip also, so if you have to mount the mic on clothing at an angle, you can rotate the mic to face the speakers mouth perfectly. If you’re running an Audio-Technica 2000 or 3000 series Lav Mic Rig, and don’t want to setup a 31-channel eq everywhere you use it, this is the mic for you. I highly recommend it. I just wish I had broken down and purchased this mic a long time ago.

Audio Technica Mics are great ,,,but…AT831CW – A great unidirectional lavaliere mic for use with Audio Technica wireless systems. Sound and pick up pattern are excellent. The weakest link is the cable joint to the transmitter. After a few months’ use the cable within becomes broken and eventually shorts out. This is the only drawback to these mics. I’ve spoken with an Audio Technica factory engineer, and he suggests sending them in for repair – which I have done, but the cost can be almost the same as a new one, plus time and shipping fees. So it’s a toss up.I buy a new one and when after a few years I get a bunch, I send them in to the factory for refurbishment, and keep them as spares. The 831CW comes with the multi-pin connector for use with the wireless belt pak transmitters. As a PA system mic, the unidirectional pick up pattern really keeps away feedback, and sound rich. Will probably still buy them because I have several wireless receivers that have never let me down.

Great Lav, Solid Sound and Build QualityThis is a solid cardioid pattern lavalier microphone. As a mobile wedding/event DJ, I dread having to use lavaliers in outdoor environments due to their sensitivity to high winds. Much to my surprise, the AT831cW can handle strong, unexpected gusts of wind. Obviously it won’t be as resistant as a hand mic, but I have found it to hold up quite well thus far. It also sounds fantastic. I have zero complaints.

Good church micsGreat mics for the money. Work well with church related use, spoken word, drama etc. Have no problem with them. I maintain 5 full blown systems n the church and use these in all of the systems with no problem.
