Bizzabo Invests Heavily in Smart Badges
Bizzabo, a provider of event technology, has published a significant update to its wearable event technology, Klik Experiential. The digitally enhanced badge is now available in a more streamlined design called The Edge. It differs from the original design created by Klik, which Bizzabo purchased for $13.5 million in November 2021.
Bizzabo now provides the smart badge as a hardware option that is compatible with other registration platforms. There appears to be current interest in wearables, particularly smart insignia.
Hardware Changes
This is the first significant update since Klik was acquired and Klik Experiential was introduced. The company’s new badge design, dubbed The Edge, is die-cut and composed of more durable ABS plastic.
The previous hardware featured a sheath design and wearable technology on the badge’s front. The revised design incorporates the hardware device on the badge’s reverse. Now, a pill-shaped opening on the front illuminates in response to any interaction.
Eran Ben-Shushan, CEO and co-founder of Bizzabo, stated, “The Edge is a true SmartBadge of the next generation, created based on feedback from our customers and event attendees.” Customization and adaptability are essential, and The Edge provides both while capturing deep, real-time behavioral insights.
