Easy to set up, but understand the limitations before buying
I originally had a static switch but it didn’t include volume controls. So I wanted one that did, and it seemed to fit the bill. The package arrived well-packed and it was very easy to set up. The unit is made in China, and doesn’t have a serial number, but I was able to register it by just model number and my name,, but that was a bit strange. It works pretty well out of the box, and I haven’t had any problems with it. The only issues I have with it are 1) it seems a little flimsy when you connect the wires. The connectors are sticking out the back and as you put the wires in and tighten it down you can feel them flex… a lot. I assume the only thing they are connected to is the board inside and it scares me that it might flex and crack the board. 2) I had to turn the channels WAY UP to get sound out of it! I listen to my stereo at about a 45 volume, and now I have to turn it to 75 to get a reasonable volume out of the switch. 3) Volume is not analog. You have “clicks” to turn it up or down. So if you want a volume in-between clicks you have to adjust with your stereo. Don’t get me wrong, it works good enough for me, and the price was good, so I am enjoying it so far. Just be aware of these idiosyncrasies before you buy.Update: Still working good for me, but I see some of the reviews with channels not working. My thought for the manufacturer is that it is probably the way the back connectors are not reinforced, and they probably flex and break the solder connections to the boards inside. I would reinforce those connectors so they don’t flex and maybe some of these issues would go away. If I have a channel that stops working I will just take the cover off and re-solder the connectors (carefully) to the board and I bet it will do the trick.

Nice unit, but make sure it fits your needs
I am by no means a home audio expert… but…The description states:Handles 100Watts Per Channel with Speaker Systems that have a Minimum Impedance of 8 OhmsI read this as the lowest it would drop the impedance is 8 Ohms, which my receiver is capable of. After opening the item, the manual states it will drop the impedance to 1.7 with all 6 speakers operating. If your receiver can only handle 8 Ohms +/- a little, you should only select one set of speakers. If you can only run 1, maybe two sets of speakers, why not just use the A/B selector on the receiver. This doesn’t really fit my need of wanting a whole home audio system that I usually have 4 or 5 of the speakers on at once. The build quality seems good, not cheap feeling. Volume sensitivity is great and it is a good looking unit. I am disappointed it won’t work for me. I called Pyle to make sure I was reading the directions and description right. He told me yes, and that if I wanted to run all 6 sets of speakers at once, I would need a receiver or amp capable of less than 2 Ohms.I was hoping Pyle did make an impedance matching selector version of this unit, but he stated no.In summary:Do your research, don’t assume your receiver will be ok. Learn about impedance minimums and matching selectors. This unit will be great if you want music on your deck, then turn that off and turn it on in your kitchen, then turn that off when you go into the living room… that’s just not what I wanted..It annoys me when people leave a 1 star review if a item works fine, but doesn’t fit their need.. I do believe this is quality unit, therefore 4 stars, but the description could be a little better…. kind of misleading. This is just my take on the set up… I could be way off though…

Lacks Impedance power. Forget help with trouble-shooting
In the category of “You Get What You Pay For”, lies this unit. Of course, I went with the favourable price point of this unit although I did spend the extra $50 (over the basic version of this) because was marketed as “High Power”. I am currently able to run this successfully with a cheap amplifier with essentially the same speaker sets in the six zones. But the sound is only as good as the quality of the components wired to it. My amp was the weak link so I attempted to use a higher end, “HIGH POWER” amplifier. The system toasted the amp. Had it repaired. Toasted again. I was foolish enough (thinking it was the amp, not the Pyle) to try again. Toasted. Bought another high power amp. After one hour, it went into PROTECT mode and would not work. Bought another high power amp. Toasted it. I contacted Pyle’s Tech Support. After they informed me to send the unit in for a warranty repair they closed the case and marked it resolved. I was way past my warranty (only 1 year). They had no interest in helping me debug. Bottom line: If you are interesting in sending sound to different zones with speakers with same impedance with a low end amplifier (that doesn’t react to the cumulative low impedance of multi zones) that has less than the best sound, this might work. I’m done with it.
