Size for this model is just right. This is really value for money pair of white powered speakers.

  2. Amazon Customer

    Great for the price
I have a recording studio for my voice over work and these are perfectly fine. I’ve heard criticisms that the bass is a bit weak. Is that because we have been taught in the last decade that unless you’re almost damaging your ears with bass that your speakers have weak bass? I found the bass to be acceptable and in general, even with music, these sound pretty good to my ears. But, they are not Genelec monitors and don’t claim to be.The one issue I had with these was that I could not pair them to my iPhone through Bluetooth. It turns out that was my fault, or you could look at it as bad design. The instructions tell you to hold down the Bluetooth button until it starts blinking green. Unfortunately if you just press the button without holding it, the light blinks green anyway. Even though the blinking green looks exactly the same, you are not actually pairing. I did not know this.I chatted with Mackie, and they couldn’t tell me that I was doing it wrong. So they told me that my pair of monitors must be defective and that Amazon should replace them.I got a new set. I still couldn’t pair them. Not believing the two sets would be bad, by chance, I decided to hold the button down. After several seconds, the same green circular light blinked, but this time the speakers showed up on my iPhone.I had already packed up the first set so I couldn’t tell if the first set was bad, but I have a feeling the first set was perfectly fine.Maybe I’m the only one who experienced this, but you really have to follow the instructions to a T and hold that button down, not just push it and release it.

  3. Quality

    Perfection
Just what I needed. The reason I got this is because I have studio monitors from Mackie and this is the perfect sub. The studio monitors are fine, I just needed more bass and this subwoofer does just that. I have a small room and I can’t even crank it up too much because it shakes my whole house. If you’re like me and have an USB interface, I suggest using the interface trs cables to give the sub input and use the red and white L/R for output to connect to the speakers. If you don’t have an interface, I think it’s easier to setup because you don’t have so many knobs to turn. They give you a 3.5mm jack to plug into your PC, then you can give signal to sub.Currently, my actual speakers are set at about 50-60% volume, the USB interface is my main driver knob and the CRDV from the mackie sub is maxed out(both sub and volume) so I only focus on the usb interface knob, if that makes sense. You’ll have to play around to find the right balance where you can hear the sound smoothly. I’ve also messed around with the crossover and for my room and speakers specifically I find that at 120Hz is better. If your speakers already have lots of bass, you can try 80Hz crossover or even lower.Took me less than 30min to setup and test it.Recommend this product!

The media could not be loaded.

  6. Manidhar Sambhanu

best monitors for low budget and learner’s 👍
These small studio monitor speakers are incredibly impressive for their size(enough size 3RCx)The sound quality is outstanding – crisp, clear and well-defined. The bass is ok (but don’t expect like home theatre or 2.1 normal sub woofer with speakers) because all sounds are flat but you can clearly hear every single instrument sounds of the songs /music (depends on input) .They’re compact and easy to move around, making them ideal for smaller home studios or for those in need of a good acoustics listeners, I recommend these speakers for anyone looking for good quality music making/mixing or listening chilling vibe music (Led Zeppelin , nirvana, etc…), if you need more bass you can buy a subwoofer separately for 199$,high quality sound without the need for large, expensive equipment. ,

    Great bookshelf speaker
This is a very nicely made, nice looking, and easy to use set of Bluetooth speakers.Pros: front power/volume control and headphone out(1/8”)Sounds good without adding too much bass or seemingly enhancing the music. It’s basically presenting the music as it is mixed which is the aim of a reference monitor.Cons:No sub woofer output. It does not enhance the bass frequencies like most consumer speakers. Look for something with a sub if you like heavy bass. This is either a pro or a con depending on the user.It could use a few more ins and outs but for the price their great, especially if you can find them on sale or refurbished for a lower price. I ended up paying well below $100 and it’s been a fantastic addition to my closet studio.
