 Front Side Control

X32 RACK

Thanks to its legendary onboard X32 mix engine, the X32 RACK can be your top-notch studio recording interface today, control a complex theater production tomorrow, or sit securely in your side-rack while you mix your band’s club gig from your iPad. A revolution in its own right, the incredible X32 RACK combines the finest analog I/O and powerful digital connectivity with ample processing for 40 channels, 25 buses and up to 152 signal sources.

You can easily control every parameter of the mix directly on the X32 RACK using the 800 x 480 graphic UI, but the awesome flexibility of networked remote control literally opens up an amazing world of possibilities. Use our X32-EDIT PC/Mac/Linux application, X32-MIX for iPad, X32-Q for iPhone/iPod touch and X32-Q for Android to control the mix from anywhere in the room. You can even run multiple instances of these powerful apps at the same time, giving your performers the ability to mix their own personal monitors on-the-fly!

Enhanced Workflow & Multi-Channel Networking

With the introduction of our new X32 version 2.0 firmware, we have not only dramatically enhanced the workflow, but also added all-new capabilities including “Acoustic Integration” for total connectivity and control of your speaker and In-Ear Monitor (IEM) systems. Then we completely re-imagined the more than 50 onboard FX “Plug-Ins” and added classic processor examples based on “True Physical Modelling”. We’ve also made the X32 even more flexible, with swappable expansion cards for connecting to other multi-channel audio networking via USB, ADAT, MADI and Dante protocols, in addition to the onboard ULTRANET and AES50 connectivity. Above all, the X32 puts the power of digital in your hands – without compromise.

You Win.

Intuitive. Immediate. Natural.

X32 RACK is your mind-to-sound interface… the intersection of creativity and production. Whether you’re accustomed to digital mixers or not, the X32’s intuitive user interface offers a fluid mixing experience that instantly feels like home.

And then there is the X32’s latest version 2.0 firmware. We’ve added new scene management features and EQ functions, including a 100-band Real Time Analyzer, flexible library import/export capability and faster FX editing.

We also included 16 new FX “Plug-Ins” which are based on True Physical Modeling of famous classic audio hardware. This process means that we essentially “rebuilt” classic analog gear in the digital domain.

And then we added the most amazing digital networking that allows you to connect to the new Turbosound iQ speakers via simple CAT5 connection. We call it “Acoustic Integration”.

Front Side Control

A set of front panel controls are provided on the X32 RACK, enabling the engineer to make adjustments to the live mix without any additional hardware. The rear panel expansion port allows inserting optional I/O cards to interface with existing networked audio infrastructure.

“Acoustic Integration” – the Live Sound Revolution

100-Band RTA for all Channel/ Bus EQ’s

At the Heart of it All

The X32 RACK forms the nucleus of an ultra-flexible studio control room setup when paired with S16 I/O and P16 Personal Monitoring Systems in each tracking room. The built-in 32 x 32 USB recording interface, 8 stereo effects engines, zero-latency monitoring (independent from DAW) and 100% total recall deliver the tools to handle any project you dare to tackle.

5″ Main Display

X32 RACK’s 5″ day-viewable color TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) display shows the setting parameters you need when you need them.

Selected for its high-contrast performance and outdoor visibility, TFT is ideal for concert and open air festival venues. Flanked by high-precision, context-sensitive tactile encoders, the screen comes to life and immediately reports in high definition all adjustments applied to a wide range of parameters.

Intelligent design puts control of vital functions such as Effects, Metering, Routing and much more 1 or 2 button presses away.

“Acoustic Integration” – the Live Sound Revolution

Legendary 40-year old British company Turbosound, famous for producing some of the world’s best speaker systems, have teamed up with Behringer to seamlessly integrate mixer and speaker systems. We call it “Acoustic Integration”.

The X32 RACK’s ULTRANET bus allows streaming up to 16-channels of pristine digital audio to an array of Turbosound iQ speakers – all on a single CAT5 cable, along with control data to set sound presets remotely.

Furthermore, the iQ Series features “True Physical Modeling” of some of the most popular speakers which can be easily remote controlled via the X32 RACK, allowing the sound engineer to apply different speaker models in real time from the comfort of the mixing desk.

“Acoustic Integration” is the next live sound revolution.

100-Band RTA for all Channel/ Bus EQ’s

The X32 RACK now includes a high-resolution 100-band Real Time Analyzer (RTA), with full Bar and Spectrograph views. This high-resolution RTA displays the audio energy distribution in 100 frequency bands over time – capturing a sonogram window of a full 10 seconds.

Switch between the Large RTA view, displaying any available signal in full screen resolution, or the Combined view with the RTA view shown above each of the channel and bus EQ curves.

See the results of your filtering choices in the audio spectrum directly. Additionally, the RTA can be displayed on top of the 31-band graphic EQs in the FX rack.

Monitoring and controlling frequencies has never been easier!

More Routing and Processing Flexibility

Mighty New Tools for Scene and Show Management

16 Breathtaking FX “Plug-Ins” Based on True Physical Modeling

We’ve added 16 new FX “Plug-Ins” to the X32 RACK, giving you access to a total of 50+ effects that would otherwise cost tens of thousands of dollars in hardware.

This new generation of high-end FX “Plug-Ins” is based on True Physical Modeling of classic audio hardware. We essentially “rebuilt” classic analog gear in the digital domain and included models of legendary processors such as Urei’s 1176*, Teletronix LA-2A* and Fairchild 670* compressors as well as the legendary Pultec* EQP- 1a and EQ5 equalizers etc. We also added a cutting-edge 5-band multiband compressor.

Last but not least, the X32 RACK can now run 4 studio-quality stereo reverbs together with 8 channels of 31-band graphic EQ. This allows you to replace your old outboard gear with a fully recallable onboard solution.

Gain Splitting and Remote Control for FOH and Monitoring

A new Gain Split mode separates channel gain (trim) from the head amp gain, allowing both the FOH and/or the monitor engineer to adjust local trim digitally – and independently of the preamp gain.

Additionally, the new HA Gain Remote option allows console gains to be remotely controlled by an external console, such as when using the X32 RACK as a stage box.

More Routing and Processing Flexibility

The X32 RACK’s routing becomes even more flexible with this recent firmware upgrade. Output signals and XLR outputs are now treated separately, allowing signals from AES50 sources or expansion cards to be routed directly to the X32 RACK’s analog outputs.

For example, now you can use the outputs from an X32 RACK for directly routing back PA or monitoring signals from a main or FOH console. New output tap points can be set as pre- or post-mute for greater usability with your P16 personal monitoring mixers. This is very useful in situations where you don’t want mute groups to interrupt your signal flow.

Mighty New Tools for Scene and Show Management

Introducing the Cue List, an innovative way to automate the loading of scenes and new “Snippets” at different points during a show. Each of the 500 Cue entries can load any of the 100 Scenes or Snippets separately or at the same time. This gives you an amazing total of 500 Cues x 100 Scenes x 100 Snippets!

For example, store your favorite EQ settings for drums on channels 1-8 as a Snippet, recallable in an instant as its own preset, completely independent of the console’s overall scene. It’s like taking a snapshot of a parameter on an input, return, FX slot, bus, Matrix, Main or DCA group – and saving it for quick access whenever you need it.

Perfect for my mobile In-Ear rack system.Behringer is great quality and when I hook up a wireless router to this I can have control from my I-pad. its great!

  2. Amazon Customer

Long-term and VERY happy userI have owned one full-size X32, two X32 Racks and a pair of S16’s for several years. Yes I definitely drank the Behringer Koolaid, and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. These things are absolutely magic. One fader and a couple of buttons on X32 have gotten sticky (design has been changed since I got mine), but Rack units have worked flawlessly. I’ve taken one to Burning Man several times, which is a terrible, hot and dusty environment, and then used for live gigs right after returning. Aside from faders and number of rear-panel connectors, Rack and full-size X32 are absolutely identical, running the same firmware. Program on either, save to a USB stick and load onto the other, and everything works the same. Got to a gig one day and realized I hadn’t brought the full size board back from another gig, so just pulled the Rack I keep in my trunk as a spare. Took 2 minutes to get it going, and the client never knew the difference. (I always mix in that venue with a tablet.) Speaking of, Rack units do require external app. I originally used the iPad app, but switched to Windows app on HP tablet. F’n magic. Gives you population groups (where you can combine channel faders, DCAs and bus faders on a single screen.

Excelente inversiónUn equipo con mucha capacidad y excelente sonido

  5. Tim D’Aquino

FANTASTIC!!!!Coupled with my Midas DL16, Ubiquiti Bullet, Gator soft cases, and battery backup – this is an amazingly powerful little setup that’s incredibly portable (fits in passenger seat of my Mini Cooper).I love this thing!ONLY downside in *my* specific situation is that it “only” has 32 channels. If I could add one more stage box this thing would be on EVERY gig I do (festivals, ships, etc).

  6. Scott Loggerhead

Unbelievable rack mount mixer!does everything the full size board does (minus 16 analog inputs that is) in a 3 rack unit space. The only thing missing is an onboard wireless network, which would make sense since this doesn’t function really without an iPad to control it.8 possible onboard effects, two channel output recording to your jump drive, 8 analog outs for either monitor mix or in ears.Best bang for the buck & it’s expandable, just add a stage box if you need more inputs.

  7. Earl Taylor

Great digital mixer! This thing does everything! Just updated the firmware to v2.04. I use mine mostly for home studio recording and full band practice/rehearsals. In the near future live gigs. I’ve got it in a 6U SKB roto mold case with other gear. Ipad/GS4 mixing is just too awesome! I use the X32-mix app on the Ipad and Mixing Station on my GS4 mostly to control everything. I’m getting around on the front controls as well though not as quickly. The IO routing options can handle everything I want to do. Built-in FX are great as well. I’ve had the unit for 2 months with no issues.

  8. Jared Owens

Epic little mixer!Have been a fan of the X32 since it came out. This is a great compact mobile version of it!! Make sure and get a router and use the iPad app

  9. Zac Rodrigue

Great multi purpose unit. This works perfect. Use it for our small shows where the full X32 isn’t needed. And for our larger shows I slave it to our full X32 to be used as a digital snake. This works better than the s16 snake because of on top of the 16/8 XLR’s on the rack I can use the 6 (1/4 in) auxiliary inputs through the snake where the s16 dosent have 1/4 in auxiliary inputs.

  10. Greg

It’s a wonderful unit. You really must use the app on …It’s a wonderful unit. You really must use the app on a tablet to navigate correctly. You probably already know that.. My band and I use this live as well as recording. We connect this via Ethernet cable to another X32 compact and have a full 32 channels when needed as well as independently on live gigs. Very happy with this purchase.
