My go to Surge ProtectorI purchase these often for my customers who need a quality rack mount surge with plenty of outlets.

Shockingly GoodDon’t be like me and not plan your power runs. I use this in my Home Lab and so far I am more than satisfied. I have had multiple power outages since I have bought this and while I cannot say for sure that this has protected my stuff, I can say none of its dead yet.The outlets are spaced well enough that you usually don’t have to break out your Tetris skills to make things fit. The main cable length is long (15 ft, I believe) so for cable management you have enough extra to get where you need to go.

Electricity goes in one place & comes out ten othersAs with many simple mechanical products, there’s not much for me to say here. Like my silly title: the electricity goes in one spot and comes out a bunch of others (if you plug things in there; no lightning bolts).I have no opinion about, nor tools to measure, the electricity that comes out of it, so I cannot rate it for noise or whatever. Heck, I didn’t even check to make sure every socket was wired correctly with an outlet tester. Shame on me. If I do, I’ll try to remember to update the review.I’m sure the joint on the safety cover over the power switch would wear out with a lot of use, but I’m hoping I won’t need to use it a lot. The switch works. It’s used to stop vampire loads wasting electricity. The build seems good. So far, I would buy more of these (I might, actually, buy another; my “studio” seems to never have enough electrical outlets). It could stand to have at least two sockets on the front. It’s odd that most rackable power strips are made with ALL the sockets on the FRONT. That’s why I chose this one: it’s the unit you get if you want all the clutter BEHIND the desk. Still, two sockets up front would be an added convenience, but the price was right for this one, and the more “convenient” rack strips were also more expensive. As others have said in their reviews, this product is not shipped in a proper shipping carton. It comes in an unprotected (no packing materials) basic manufacturer’s product box (low profile plain brown cardboard). Luckily, mine did NOT come damaged. I don’t know why Amazon ships these things in this way. They’re probably hurting themselves with returns due to shipping these without proper packing. The manufacturer should redesign their packaging so that it secures and protects the product. Then the pickers at Amazon’s warehouses wouldn’t need to pack it in another carton, which they already don’t do (probably because they don’t know they should).

WORKS!!!using this PDU with a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD UPS and been rock solid for my monitors and PC. had an issue with cord length because I have the router/modem on the ups as well. Cord length was exactly what I needed. EVERYTHING works even when power has gone out. THE NICE thing is using in conjunction with the UPS being cyber. Everything is covered if anything becomes TOAST.

Great product! If you’re rack mounting you have to purchase this product! It allows quite a bit of flexibility in how your rack setup will handle cable management. Just like anything rack mounted it only takes a minute or so to install, and if you’re going to the extent of rack mounting then you probably have quite a bit of equipment you want to protect.

solid, relyable and well worth the moneyThis revue is for the cyber power 1-u power distribution unitWhen the unit arrived I noticed it came in a huge box twice its size. I started to worry that the company sent out the wrong unit. However once I started unboxing the device I saw it contained a smaller box with the actual item in it. The box it shipped in was ridiculously gigantic though! Not a bad thing, these devices are sensitive to being abruptly handled so the unit arrived safely and in 1 piece. No surface or otherwise detectable internal damage was found. The unit is solidly built and although I don’t have an actual rack fixture more on that in a bit, the unit meets my expectations for the most part. I have it sitting under my computer desk at the moment. No rubber feet but it is intended to be affixed to rack mounting posts. I am planning to order a small rack soon from amazon. I needed something with enough outlets to supply power to 4 synthesizers, a pair of KRK rocket RP5s, a digital audio workstation computer, mixer, and my video monitor. I needed the device to be solid and reliable and so that I would have some outlets left over for charging or connecting other equipment as needed.ProsEnough outletsFront switch door to prevent accidental switch offs ideal for those who plan to use this in mission critical applications such as in server applicationLong cable at least 5ftOutlets grip plugs firmly and equipment can’t be accidentally unplugged easilyPilot light to let the operator know unit is energized and workingRack mountable by designChassis is Metal shell housing as opposed to cheap plasticOutlets are all properly grounded important for safety and avoiding annoying 60 Hz buzz through audio equipmentConnsWill slide around if you have it setup like I have it nowUnit as far as I know isn’t serge protected nor does it contain a resettable fuse though I could be wrong and had I held on to the manual would have some knowledge on if fuse is located internally do to unit being of commercial grade and not built so that the average consumer could repair itMounting ears can get in the way if you have it sitting on a surface as I do. This can be annoying and can scuff up nearby equipment. Would be nice if they made it so that they were removable. I’ve seen it done on other rack gear.Switch feels a bit flimsy but doesn’t shoot out sparks or crackle if partially pressed as I’ve experienced with other cheaper power strips so: safe enoughOutlets are on the back so not to accessible would be cool if they gave you 2 extra outlets on the frontMain power cable is permanently attached making it harder to repair if it gets damaged or warn out would be cool if it was a standard IEC pc type connector offering more options.

Great product, QC is hit or miss.1 star off – strictly cosmeticIt works great and has great fitment. However, as many others have experienced with cyber powers recent products the finish has random splatter marks on it, either from powder coating or oil drip. Will not come out, but wasn’t worth returning in my situation since I had it installed and next time I remove the plates getting painted anyway. Functions great, if aesthetic is critical you’ll have to deal with luck of the draw and might have an easier time at retail stores.

A rack mountable power stripSometimes all you need is a very simple product, with no network connection, no energy monitoring or individual switching for outlets. This meets that need perfectly. One cord, one switch on the front, and a bunch of outlets to plug stuff in to.
