Good quality at a good priceEasy set up, easy to use, a good and obvious step up in audio quality for my podcasts from using the mic on my iPad or laptop.

not worth the priceExtremely difficult to run a pod cast. Lacks features needed u less upgrade to the $799 package. Only one microphone, no pop filter and 0 instructions how to utilize features. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone

This is a great basic kit for beginners like me. Includes everything you need to get started. This AKG Pro Audio Podcaster Essentials Kit is perfect for a beginner’s needs – at least, for me it is. I’m dabbling in YouTube, podcasts, and other medias – and this really meets my basic needs for now. I’m an amateur, though, so while I find this set to be excellent quality for my light (and non-professional) use, it may not be suitable for more professional needs and studios. I love that most everything you need is all in one with this set, however, to get started. The AKG Lyra Ultra-HD multimode USB microphone works really well, and the sound quality on the whole is much better than other sets I’ve tried (or tried to piece meal, I should say – I’m glad this does the job well, because I couldn’t seem to nail down the sound quality until now using other devices). There’s a really helpful (and free) introductory recording course at Berklee Online, and I highly recommend it when first getting acquainted with this set and what it can do for you. It saved me time from messing around with it using plain ol’ trial and error and gave some really good info (although you will still have to do that a little, depending on your needs and circumstances – but the course helps me out). You get a full set of accessories in this set, including the cables and a dual-headphone adapter. Once you’re set up, it’s actually very easy to use, and you need little else to get going on your way. It’s perfect for my needs as a beginner, and the pricing is fair for everything you’re getting out of it at that level. It gets two thumbs up from me!

Great gear but setup is annoyingFirst of all, the AKG Pro audio podcaster essentials kit is terrific if you want something you can open up, plug in, and start using immediately. My Windows PC had no issue recognizing the headphones and microphone, and there’s only one USB connection. The headphones plug into the microphone and comes with a splitter so you can have two headphones on. The headphones are sharp looking, and they feature great sound. The microphone is amazing. You can have it a foot away from your mouth and it sounds like it’s really close. Plus there are settings to do one sided, or dual sided mics. The biggest issue is that this has SO MUCH packaging material. Everything comes in a seperate box that is filled with foam. I spent more time opening this up than actualy setting it up. Bags, black foam, boxes big and small abound.Other than that one issue, this is the perfect kit to get someone who wants a professional sounding kit, and they want it all in one package even if that package takes a half hour to get through.

High Sound Quality and Audio Editing SoftwareI make YouTube videos, and the most common problem I have is lack of sound quality. The AKG Pro Audio Podcaster Essentials Kit solved the quality problem. The big microphone looks like something the Andrew Sisters might have sung into during World War II, but there’s nothing vintage about the sound it streams or records. With Live Streaming on YouTube the sound is far richer than what the build-in mic on my computer delivers, and recording I can dub in the sound captured by my iPhone that does the recorded video work. The mic plugs into a USB port, and the headset RCA jack plugs into the mic. Used without the mic, the headset can be plugged directly into my headset port (sound). The Ableton Live 10 Lite audio–production software is another story, and I’m still learning how to use it. Fortunately, the package comes with a free course in audio editing to have you get started using Live 10—works fine on both PCs and Macs…as does the hardware. While learning Live, I’ve been using Adobe Audition, Adobe’s professional audio editing software; so, you can also use other audio editing software with the AKG Podcaster Kit. All in all, I’m truly happy with the whole system.

Great kitThis is a very good kit with a lot of the essentials to getting started in podcasting. What a difference having good materials can make. It is nice that it came in a bundle. I thought it was a decent value for what you got. It wasn’t too difficult to set up. Everything worked as it should. It was very motivating for us to get more serious about it. Could make a great gift for someone who is interested in this. I would recommend it.
