Auto focus is LOUD. BEWAREThe lens is fast. But if you’re doing video, you’ll capture nothing but AF noise

PERFECTIt takes cannon quality images for such a low price! It has become my go to lens for most of my photography needs

A great 1.8 lense for the money. Could be 1.2!This little “nifty fifty” is great! The pictures have very good bokeh, especially when you couple it with a Viltrox Speedbooster. While the lense is a 1.8 on a normal adapter; when using the speedbooster it gives you 1.2! If feels VERY cheap, but I think it is a great starter 50mm. Last, the auto focus is good, but it is a little slower than I would like, and it is a bit noisy.

Great lensI was looking for a nifty fifty lens to take photos for my son as well as recipe pictures and came across this accidentally, so I purchased it. I was skeptical, to be honest, and didn’t know what I’m getting. I received it two days later and my fingers were crossed that it’s compatible with my Canon t70, and I was really happy that it did work. Here is the test picture I’ve taken as soon as I got my camera!I had the AV setting, it was dark inside the house as the shades were closed and the light in the background was the Christmas tree lights.I’m extremely happy with this purchase, and really glad that I got to buy an affordable lens.I’d definitely recommend this product.

Awesome valueI’m really surprised at this little guy. For the coast it’s a gear beginner lens for me. When using on display focusing it is quite slow and clumsy but using the eyepiece it focuses just as good as my canon kit lens. I love the fact it has auto focus and manual focus options and that it is a prime lens (no zoom for newbies like me). If you want a cheap good lens to start out and add to your collection while you are beginning and might drop or scratch a lens before you become a pro then get this lens it’s amazing.

Did not work – Err 01 – (twice)EDIT: It was the used camera. Sent it back and bought a new Rebel T7. The lens works fine now. The focusing motor is a bit noisy.I purchased this lens. It did not work with my Canon D60 giving the dreaded ‘Err 01’ message which indicates a communication problem between the camera and lens. Amazon replaced it and the second lens did the same thing. Could be a camera issue but non the less very disappointing.

slow and fiddlyI bought this to use with a canon rebel t5i in lower light conditions than i could get away with using the 18-55 kit lens.It does the trick *but* it is very slow to focus, and also seems to “lose” (need to readjust) all the time even when i haven’t really changed the distance i’m working at. Definitely do not reccomend for any kind of action shots. It *can* be done but you basically have to pick a spot to shoot and hope the action passes through that specific spot.the smaller lens diameter (52mm) also means you have to get a different set of filters than the ones the standard lenses use (58mm), *and* kinda counteracts some of the advantage of getting a low-F lensGiven the option to go back and choose again, i’d probably go for a higher quality model instead of this one.

A lens that wont break your bank! This lens is almost perfect! I say almost only because the auto focus lags a bit comparing it to my canon lenses. However, its a great deal and you can’t pass it up. After reading other’s reviews I decided to just get it and i don’t regret it! It’s a great lens to have while I’m out and about. Clear photos and the F1.8 is great too! Just get the lens you deserve it!

Produces wonderful photos on old and new Canon cameras!I used this with my old camera, the Canon Rebel XS (1000D) that I had for 7+ years and it produced wonderful pictures. I ended up upgrading to a T7 (2000D) and the photos are even more amazing! I almost exclusively use AF (I’m still learning) and the photos turn out beautifully. All of the attached photos are from the T7. I ended up choosing this over the Canon 50mm because of the price and the reviews on youtube only showed a difference in the quality of the lenses with videography (which I don’t do.)

It’s okIt’s an ok lense if you are shooting outside. If you are shooting inside, even with a flash or another light source. It does not focus. I’ll keep using trying different settings
