Good quality overallGetting the negatives out of the way first, I had to return the first one I ordered back because the Main Meter L leds were inoperable in all channels. Received a replacement the very next day (thanks to the no hassle Amazon return process.) The replacement is working beautifully. The mixer comes with a Quick Start Guide and has an extensive online pdf manual online to download if you wish. It is solidly built, the knobs are smooth, the 24 effects sound good and are useful for vocals and any instrument. Using a Focusrite interface, it records without issue in both Pro Tools and Ableton. After downloading the proper driver the USB functions as advertised and works well in any DAW I tried. This unit is advertised offering free Pro Tools First with plugin bundle. On the Mackie website this offer has been discontinued since 02/2022. Avid has replaced Pro Tools First with Pro tools Intro. I’ve been using Pro Tools for years so this was not an issue with me, but the offer should not be part of the product description. I like this mixer very much.

Awesome mixerThis thing is great. I find it better than a Go XLR, especially if one does more than just stream. Has a lot of sweet functions, like separate control room and headphones volume and the quick mute for each channel and for all channels. To be honest I have not tried the effects side yet.

Board lives up to Mackie nameFor budget, durability and dependability Mackie is tough to beat. On board effects are great. Preamps are quality. Awesome track strip features, compression , low cut, EQ, channel mute, sliders are great feel versus my other mixer with only knobs. I may never use the USB connection for cpu recording but that is also a plus feature for this board.Recommended for small to midsize venues for up to 5 piece bands.

Underwhelmed disappointed.I didn’t do my due diligence on this one. It’s a Mackie. Built to last. Mine was perfect and performed flawlessly. However there were several featurs that i took for granted would be included on a mixer of this caliber. First no Bluetooth, bummer. Second only three knob eq on each input. I expected four. NO MASTER EQ??? Thats right no EQ for the main mix. No usermanual. The effects are not Mackie caliber at all. You can’t adjust the effects except for just more or less of them. i.e. you can not adjust delay speed or duration. Over all i was just extremely underwelmed with the features of this mixer. Nothing was wrong with mine. It’s my own fault for not thoroughly doing my homework.

Solid medium duty mixer. After 20+ years the brand is still reliable and affordable.I used to own a Mackie 1402 Series mixer, which was the smallest offered by Mackie that still had faders instead of pot dials. The build of this one is similar, maybe 80% as rugged as the old 1402 series (and subsequent updates) which has been consistently been $450 for over 20 years. My budget was a little lower this time around and opted for this model after pouring over reviews. It was around $300. I trust the brand. I like the included USB interface, but feel like it could have been updated to USB 3 or 4, but it works just fine as is. No driver needed for Mac. The included FX are very basic but handy since I don’t own any outboard FX units or pedals. The Onxy Mic PreAmps are very good for a mixer at this price. It was a little tricky finding the rack ears for this model (because of the delay in shipping from non-prime sellers, I purchased from Sweetwater). Once installed in my rolling tilt rack (see my other Amazon reviews) I found the OSHA power cable and the USB cables stick straight out the back / top and interfered with the patch panel I had installed above it, despite the 1 RU space I left for access. After confirming which type of 90 degree replacement cables I needed- it was just 2 simple (under $10) purchases to get the mixer to fit properly. That was VERY specific to my config- but something to be aware of if the mixer is going to live in a rack vs desktop.I RECOMMEND this mixer for Quality and Value. I expect to own this one at least as long as the previous model.
