A beginer’s review: Not a toy, not expensive, good to learn with.
For any review to be worthwhile, context on the reviewer is helpful. I am a middle aged male. I am an IT/IS Management professional. I don’t play video games often. I definitely do not have the hand/controller/eye coordination of the younger generations. I am a do-it-yourself type who is mechanically inclined. I purchased this affordable drone to learn how to fly before spending $$$ on a more capable drone.PRO: Price, carrying case with cut foam inserts, two batteries, some automatic features, headless flight mode (a.k.a. no matter which way the drone is oriented on the horizontal axis, the controls will behave like a novice would expect)CON: Lightweight drone gets bucked in a breeze. Instruction manual is tiny and hard to read. Flight time is relatively short (expected in this size). The rotor arms are easily bumped out of position. Has brushed motors, so it is louder than I initially expected. In all honesty, this isn’t the best drone out there. It’s lightweight and gets bucked in the wind easily. The instruction manual is physically small. The text is hard to read without additional magnification. I definitely recommend searching YouTube for how-to videos on the drone controls and drone calibration. The camera isn’t the best. To pair your mobile phone to the drone, you have to connect to the drone via Wi-FI. The drone has it’s own Wi-FI mini router built in. When you’re connected to the drone via Wi-FI, you sacrifice your internet connected WI-Fi connection.THAT BEING SAID…I’m a novice. My desire is to shoot some drone footage on my next vacation. I purchased this drone to learn how to fly a drone. If I crash it or break it, I’m not out hundreds of dollars. I went into it without unrealistic expectations. So far, it has been a great “gateway” learning tool. The controller works, but it doesn’t have truly “fine” adjustments via the joysticks. There are fine controls on the “D” pad on the controller, but I haven’t had enough stick time to evaluate the effectiveness of the fine controls. The auto takeoff feature is helpful. The auto land feature hasn’t worked quite right for me yet (most likely operator error). There are three rotor speed settings available via the left shoulder button. I’ve only flown for any real amount of time in setting 1. I tried setting 2. The drone becomes faster, can fly higher, and becomes more sensitive to control input. I haven’t tried setting 3 yet. I’m working to gain comfort flying at speed 1. The drone has some built in acrobatic routines (flips / rolls) via using combinations of the right stick and the right shoulder button. I haven’t tried these out yet.The rotor blades are flexible and can withstand impact. If a rotor blade breaks, extra blades and the required tool are included with the drone package. Also included are rotor guard “bumpers”. As a newbie, I can not overstate the value of the guard “bumpers”.The drone does not have any on-board memory storage or memory card reader. To capture video, you must download and install the drone app onto your mobile device. Any pictures or videos are stored on your mobile device. The software app is obviously created by a non-native English speaker. I’ve only tested the still photo capture and a video capture via the mobile device app. I haven’t attempted to use any of the mobile app flight controls yet, and I don’t think I will. After I can achieve stable, safe flights with this drone, I will upgrade to a more expensive drone with better features, better control fidelity, better camera (gimbal and stabilized), ..etc.Hope this helps.

    Video quality is poor
I normally don’t write reviews, but I was very disappointed in this product’s video quality.I have other drones, but this is the first one I had with a camera.I had dreams of flying the drone around and then watching the video and getting a bird’s eye view of what is was like to be zipping around through the air. The video quality is extremely choppy, its barely a video at all but more a set of disjointed photos. I suppose I expected too much for the price? I didn’t expect GoPro level videos, but this is basically unwatchable. As far as the drone is concerned, I had it out on a slightly breezy day and the wind wanted to take the drone far away.Important Tips:1. Use horizontal calibration every time. Even with it, the drone sometimes seems to want to go off to the side when starting.2. You have to turn on Wifi on your phone and connect to the wifi network of the drone for the app to work.3. There are multiple apps offered by the company. Only use the app specified. Other apps might not work.4. Be prepared to have the drone fly off if there’s a breeze. Press the kill engine button if the drone starts to fly away. For $50, You get a drone with wifi and a camera. That’s not too bad I suppose. Expecting all of the components to be high quality is unreasonable. Is it worth $50? Maybe. But, I wish I had put that $50 into a higher quality drone\camera setup.

    Instructions are VERY unclear.
Drone is well built and, once set up properly, it’s fun to operate. Camera is very difficult to link to an electronic device.

    Great beginner drone
Best if used indoors in lots of space. It just couldn’t handle relatively low winds. Other then that it’s a great little flyer

    It’s OK for the Money
The drone is pretty good for the money. I will say that the battery life is great and I get at least 15 to 20 minutes per run. (without video). One thing I don’t like is the speed of the unit on #3 speed. At the fastest setting the unit is not too snappy as others I have flown. It does take some getting used to having it hover by itself. And even if you pull the throttle down all the way, the blades still spin fast and will wack what its near in an emergency. There is a cut off button at the bottom but it drops like a rock and will chip it if you hit concrete. ( I did) That’s a problem because the controller is horribly small, and putting the phone on it to watch video is awkward and top heavy. But over all for the price. I’ll play with it until I break it. Wouldn’t get another one though.

  6. Amazon Customer

    Not quite
Not quite what I wanted when it came to video quality cause the quality is very poor than advertised, the flying was very hard to grasp cause the controller came with stick drift or the drone can barely handle its own weight, overall its a okay drone for the 40$ price i got it for

    Buen producto
    Conforme con la compra

  8. Matthew levine

    It was cool
It was cool but a lil cheap

  9. Oscarito

    Very hard to fly
Unfortunately the machine gets thrown all over with any amount off wind . The autopilot system over compensates and it’s all over the place. But the worst is the motor transmission very powerful but the gears will brake with in few flying minutes due to the way they are set . Any drone should have outrunner motors I order to haless power loss in transmission of power

This is for you! I was amazed how quickly I picked up flying a drone! Great experience! Thnx
