This is the best IP camera to buy in it’s price rangeI’ve been using IP cameras for decades and this camera actually works with modern Web browsers. That’s right. You don’t need to put your browser in Internet Explorer legacy mode (IE7) or install a plugin for it to work. Live View starts right up and the configuration tabs are all there. The camera firmware is HIKVISION compatible and works with Blue Iris. Wide angle lens with 4x optical zoom combined with fast Pan-Tilt-Zoom and hundreds of preset slots means you can cover a very large area with a crystal clear picture. Use the SADP software to connect this POE camera to your network and then setup via Web Browser is easy. Powerful IR night illumination is amazing for a dome type camera. Stop searching – get this one.

Nice Camera, many optionsI bought this to replace another branded POE, PTZ camera that was not up to par. This camera is much better in every way. The picture is wide enough for my usage, the picture is clear, the microphone works great, the PTZ functions flawlessly. This camera does NOT have a built-in speaker. It only has a built-in microphone. The night vision is good enough up to around 40-60ft. I connected this to my POE switch that is connected to my DVR/NVR. My DVR is a rebranded Hikvision. I did not have any issues connecting to this camera and updating the IP address to work with my system. I used the static IP listed in the instructions and connected to it via Chrome on my phone. I changed the admin password and updated the IP address to one that wasn’t being used on my network. Restarted the camera and reconnect to it with the new IP I gave it. I added the camera to the DVR, made some minor changes to the audio and picture for my preferences and made some set points within the PTZ settings. You can also use this camera without a DVR and view it from anywhere via several different apps, Guarding Vision, Hik-Connect, Hi-Look. I think the preferred app is Guarding Vision. You will need to follow the instructions to add the camera to the Guarding Vision Platform Access within the app, add your own encryption password for viewing and once that’s done you can view the camera from anywhere, as long as you have a Data or WiFi connection. You can also just use an IP address to connect to it from anywhere but that involves having some advanced networking skills. To many different scenarios to get into about that. You can set up motion alerts from the app, illegal login notifications and many other notifications at your own discretion. It has a slot for an SD card, I am not using it so I cannot say much about it besides it would record to it based on your recording preferences you set up in the app, all the time, motion only etc. If recording all the time, once it fills up, it would overwrite the oldest recording and continue recording, unless you tell it not too. Motion recording is the same way, once it fills up, it would overwrite the oldest recording. For those curious, ONVIF works great on this camera. I had no issues with mine. If you have a different DVR/NVR than Hik Vision, you need to verify that the version of ONVIF that comes with this camera will work with your DVR and/or NVR. I use this camera indoors to record while we are away from home. It is an indoor/outdoor camera but my usage needed it inside. I actually have mine set up to the smart home and it only comes on if the Alarm is set to Away Mode or if we manually turn it on. Its great for watching the dog while we are away too. For the $, this camera offers many options for you to choose from. I cannot speak for the longevity of it because I’ve only had it a couple of weeks but if something changes, I will update this review. Good Luck!

Nice cameras for the price.Anpviz PTZIP204WX4IRhttps://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T62VCY3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1I purchased one of these to try out on my LaView recorder. After finding that the camera has many features that are not supported by my recorder. I purchased an NAS from Synology and purchased Surveillance station to run my cameras. The picture quality is amazing, but that might be because I was using 2MP bullet cameras. These cameras are pretty easy to set up and use compared to the LaView setup I replaced. They have a 4X optical zoom and claims a 16X digital zoom. Of course the digital zoom is just zooming into the display as you would when zooming into a photo, it doesn’t increase the actual zoom level.Pan and tilt both work smoothly and quietly. They will pan down 90 degrees but only a few degrees above horizontal. This is not a problem as I don’t need to look at the sky. They pan 355 degrees and with the view angle you do get full 360 degree coverage. These cameras do have audio and can be triggered by a change in the audio level.I was initially unhappy with the IR lighting until I discovered one sketchy network cable, the one camera would also disconnect and reconnect randomly. Besides the one bad network cable, I believe the LaView NVR I was using did not have the power to to operate all the cameras at once. As I said previously, I purchased a Network Attached Storage drive and am using Surveillance Station and a POE network switch to run these cameras. With these upgrades the IR lighting is very good, I would bet they make the 100’ claimed lighting distance. They are IP67 waterproof rating, my only reservation is a small gap left by the mounting ring where the wires are supposed to be run. I used some caulking rope just to cover this small area.I have been so happy with these cameras I bought 5 more to replace all my old 2MP camera. My one major complaint was the domes were dirty on 4 of the 6 cameras I bought. I tried cleaning them both inside and out but there were some scratches and areas that would not come clean, mostly up close to the base of the dome.I tried to contact the manufacturer, the first time I did not get an answer for 8 days. Then their troubleshooting involved questioning whether there was other lighting sources that could be casting some glare on the dome. Suffice it to say they did nothing to correct the issue!Overall these are nice cameras for the price.

Not badI have two of these on my network that integrate with a sixteen channel NVR. These are HIK cameras, which is fine. You can block the camera network traffic from your firewall. Just place the camera subnet on its own subnet that is not routable to the internet.I don’t use these types of cameras inside my house. I only use these outside. I am going to slowly replace my remaining fourteen cameras with the PTZ. It makes it a lot easier to get the areas of interest. The zoom is not bad including the panning. I did notice a lag on my last run when using the PTZ. It could be because of the distance on the Ethernet cable. I am running shielded cat6. The included coupler is cheap. It does not seals that great so I use electrical tape to protect the Ethernet contact. Hot glue the top of the camera where the cable leads inside. If you look at it it’s not completely sealed.I rate it a four star because it not a super high end camera, but for one fifty it’s not bad. Good for home environments.

A great value for the money. Beware of “phone home” activities!!I purchased this camera and installed recently (August 7th, ’20) – as one of my other cameras completely died and needed replacing. Also reviewed and purchased here on Amazon, read my other review. This camera I purchased because of PTZ, PoE, ONVIF, IR and brand (this is an OEM Hikvision camera with a different name). The image quality is stellar at any resolution setting – see the attached screengrabs. My first impressions are excellent. The image quality from this unit as compared to my other 4 cameras is much better. The PTZ works better, the ONVIF compatibility is better (I use a Synology DVR) and the device responds much better. Also, night vision works as advertised. For $140 this camera is a gem.One downside I might mention is that the mounting bracket is kind of lame. it is a piece of cheap plastic which slots into the back of the camera, and if it is not mounted to a totally flat surface it is difficult to get it straight. I solved the problem with some wood shims – which I always recommend anyway – but beware of this bracket. The reason this camera gets 4 instead of 5 stars is 2 things:- The mounting bracket- The included software is kind of garbage – typical of CN made cameras of this pricepoint.- This camera tried to phone home. I have an enterprise grade firewall at home so I caught it, but there is NO reason this device should be going out to the network in the capacity I caught. SO – block it if you can, or let it have access to only your DVR on your network and not directly to the internet.

Great camera but has compatibility issues with Blue IrisThis review is for the Anpviz Security 4.0MP POE IP PTZ Dome Camera. The camera is very well built, it is sturdy and works very well. Just like my other two Anpviz cameras, the picture resolution is clear and sharp. However, unlike my other two cameras, at night this camera’s resolution diminishes and at times looks a little grainy. If you are placing the camera in a dark area with little or no lighting, the picture may come out grainy, and zooming in and focusing does not help the night vision much. The biggest setback I had with this camera was in its compatibility with Blue Iris. I was able to control the camera’s movements very well through the web interface, however, if you are using Blue Iris you may run into problems. At first, I had a lot of trouble getting the camera to be recognized in Blue Iris. I finally got Blue Iris to recognize the camera, and I can view and record from Blue Iris, but I cannot control the movement of the camera. After several emails back and forth to the seller and not getting the camera to work completely in Blue Iris, I decided to contact Blue Iris so they can add this PTZ camera to their program, but even that has been frustratingly slow due to all the back and forth emails with them. Two weeks have passed since I received this camera, and I am still not able to control the camera in Blue Iris.Another thing I want to point out is the mobile app. My two other Anpviz cameras use the “Danelle” app but this PTZ camera uses a different app (Guarding Vision). So, if you are planning to purchase several models of Anpviz cameras, know that they do not all use the same phone app, which makes it a bit inconvenient if you want to view all the Anpviz cameras in one app. If you are using Blue Iris, one solution is to purchase the Blue Iris phone app to be able to view all cameras in one place. Overall, I am happy with the camera and will look into purchasing more of their cameras.

Overall a great camera and I am a happy customerThe media could not be loaded.

I have 9 cameras in my network currently. 6 HIK Vision, 1 Amcrest, 1 Foscam & this Anpviz Dome PTZ. First impressions of this camera were very good. Packaging and documentation were nice and easy to understand. The quality of exterior is also good, plastic but seems very durable, so this doesn’t seem like a negative to me. (I have some cameras that are metal base and some that are plastic) The setup was straight forward and I like their app (Guarding Vision) better than HIK Vision app I have used with my other cameras. Their app seems more user friendly and a lot easier to add 3rd party cameras for some reason. Not sure if it really is but seems to be, and it’s been a while since I have tried to add a camera on the HIK app. Most of my cameras are 4MP but this one has a better picture in my opinion. This could be due to the fact that it has auto focus but either way I like the picture better on this camera than all of my other 8 cameras. The PTZ works great and the speed is adjustable along with the iris and zoom. I have 2 videos to post but Amazon would only let me upload one, so I devices to use the night vision one to show how great the IR and low light features work on this camera. The porch light was turned off during the video. The only thing I would like to see changed would be the ability to use web browsers on my iPad to log into the cam direct and use all of the configuration features available from my PC. I was able to get this to work, minus the PTZ features, on IPCAM Soft and SimpleControl. If it was possible to give this camera 4.5 or 4.75 stars on this rating, I would have.

Great performance for the price! This was my first time using a PTZ camera. I have several fixed camera but I wanted to have a PTZ in my shop to focus in on different areas while working to make videos to share online. This camera has exceeded my expectations.BLUE IRIS 4 SetupI use Blue Iris 4 and had no problem getting it to work. Blue Iris detects the camera the same as it did with all my stationary cameras just fine. PTZ control was not working but all that needed to happen to get it working was right clicking on the cameras display window and opening the “Camera Properties” window. Select the “PTZ/Control” tab, here you can select “Hikvision DS-2DE/2DF-AE” as your camera and you are good to go.The action of the camera moving is quick and fluid and best of all completely silent. The zoom is impressive and the amount of detail retained is great as I need to zoom into different workstations and record without the image getting too noisy. It has the ability to self calibrate, which it did upon installation. Being able to program different points and jump from them with a click of a button was not something I knew I needed until seeing an option for it and it works flawlessly. For the cost of this camera I am just amazing at all the options it has and how well it performs. It does mount differently than my other Hikvision stationary cameras but that was not a problem for me at all. At first I assumed it did not have night vision but the IR led’s are actually mounted in the base, outside of the dome ensuring there is no glare at all when in use! I am sure I will be adding more of these to my setup.

PTZ works in Blue Iris softwareI just got this camera installed today and initially ran into issues being able to control PTZ from Blue Iris. I noticed a few folks also mentioned that here and on other forums like ipcamtalk and the blueiris forums. To get the video feed to work, in Blue Iris right click on the camera and select Camera Properties -> Video (tab) -> Device type: Network IP (press the Configure button) -> Make: Hikvision -> Model (any of them worked for me, but I left it on “other RTSP”).To get PTZ to work, in Camera Properties -> PTZ/Control (tab) -> Network IP: “Hikvision DS-2DE/2DF-AE” (from the drop down menu).I am posting this review on the first day in case I forget what settings I used to get it working, but am initially leaving it as 4 star because its not a wide angle video. I will update my review in the event that I feel it deserves something other than 4 stars.

  10. bn880

Excellent camera, reliableAfter about a year of constant use, the camera is performing like a champ. I have it recording lots of different triggers including trespass, face detection, motion detection and even sound, and it doesn’t miss a beat!PTZ is flawless and you can get a really good look at stuff with the 4x zoom. (In my opinion this beats 8MP non zooming cameras)Night image quality is AMAZING. Often you can go without the IR back lights, which don’t cause any reflections either. My only complaint with this line of PTZ cameras is that there is no Patrol feature. So you will most likely be recording only one area by default, and manually looking around if need be. There is no way to automate this to switch often enough through any interface (so that you always monitor multiple areas).Highly recommended for an all round security cam.Edit: A previous reviewer says she can’t turn off the IR lights. Well you can turn them off via the image settings, or you can force the camera into constant day mode (which also turns them off) by clicking on the Day preset under PTZ.
