Great A/V ApplianceIt does what it advertises. The unit comes with nine filtered and monitored AC inputs. Two banks of four on the back and one front panel input. It’s relatively small at 17” wide and about 6” deep and comes with rack mount ears that can be attached to mount the unit into a 19” rack. The voltage monitor display can be toggled to five brightness settings but even at it’s dimmest is quite bright in a dark media room. Luckily the sixth setting turns the display off.I was able to purchase the unit at approximately half off and at the price, compared to the list price, it’s a steal for the feature set and input capacity you get.The device provides peace of mind that your expensive gear is prevent from under voltage, over voltage, etc etc while simultaneously providing clean power. I’m using it to power my LG OLED, a Denon AVR3700H, Emotiva BasX A3, and a SVS PB1000 Pro.It’s said that providing clean and consistent power to your audio gear can improve performance. It may be placebo but after a few days of gaming and movie watching with it I want to say that yes, I can hear a difference? Nothing crazy, but again it could be placebo. The real advantage here is the protection to your investment it provides. If you can get it on sale it’s a no-brainer.

An Excellent Choice for Home Audio/Theater Power DistributionI can’t tell you what happens if lightning strikes, but I can tell you that I have an ensemble of home audio components plugged into this tidy unit, including a DAC, vacuum tube preamp, (2) dbx EQs, (2) Crown power amps, and (2) Cerwin Vega powered subwoofers, with the overall result being dead quiet when idle and without any audible trace of EMI or AC hum. What protection it provides, it does so silently. Five stars.

Perfect for Home Entertainment centerI have all of my equipment plugged in to this device. Creates a cleaner look than a typical surge protector. Fits in my entertainment center right above my blue ray player. Prefect solution!

Great for network racks when placed at the top.Great rack mount for networks. The added led lights can be adjusted downward. Would have to remove the feet for a tight rack mount stacking situation. The usb port on the front helps when troubleshooting and you need a power source.

Lightning strikes 150 feet away. This did the trick bought back in 2017 can not recommend it enough. Light strikes a tree destroyed most electrical equipment in my home but not anything connected to this.Note: this was properly grounded with 12 gauge cable to a 9 grounding rod and to city utilities box.

Panamax is great quality and gets the job done with giving you peace of mindI have already bought a bigger Panamax unit in the past for my main living room and it has done a great job of protecting my equipment and I really think it helps with filtering out any additional noise. I purchased this unit for my bedroom because I got scared a couple of weeks ago when a thunderstorm cut the power off and I wasn’t completely comfortable using a generic power strip style surge protector.Since I’ve installed this, my sound does feel a lot cleaner and more detailed. I don’t think it’s the placebo effect either. It really does sound better. I really can’t tell about the picture being better to be honest. The F8500 already has an excellent picture, so it’s almost impossible to tell yet. The hardest part about incorporating one of these Panamax units into your Theater is the re-wiring and cleaning up your power cords from your other AV equipment(Blu ray, TV,receiver power cords ect.) so it makes for a clean install with no cables sticking out.The lights are a nice feature also. The best thing about them is that you can turn them all off if you choose too. The lights for the voltage reading has 5 different brightness levels and so does the red lights coming from the two round knobs. They can be both turned completely off if you prefer a dark setting. I prefer the red lights on the lowest level on only, as it does not to cause to much distraction. Before I bought this, I had checked around and seen a lot of comments about the warranty not being honored from a 3rd party vendor. This is true.Currently, Panamax only sells to 15 specific online retailers and the manufactuers warranty is only covered if you choose one of those approved vendors if you purchase this online. When I did not see Amazon on that list but saw others commenting about their experience if the warranty would be covered if you bought it from Amazon, I wanted to double check with Panamax myself.I reached out and asked Panamax and they said if you by from Amazon and under the buyer it indicates “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com”, the warranty is covered. They said Amazon is currently being added to the approved online retailers. So if the warranty is important and you buy it off of Amazon, just make sure when you purchase it, it states “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com”.

Panamax is good quality. Think of this as an insurance plan.I bought two of these to protect my two A/V stereo systems. Panamax is a good name. Visually, it’s a very nice-looking product. I really like the large bright display which is constantly showing the real-time voltage so you can easily check the power coming into your A/V equipment. But in the end, it’s what’s inside that counts and from what i’ve read, Panamax uses high-quality components. It’s a bit expensive, but you’re paying for insurance. The upgrade would be to the unit with voltage regulation (for about $1k), but for me this unit was sufficient. If I had REALLY high end sound equipment (ie. receiver and subwoofer), i’d likely go for the unit with voltage regulation, but for me, this power conditioner was sufficient.
