Pretty much just what I was looking forI like to listen to MP3s out on my deck, streamed from my phone. Previously I was using a single Bose Bluetooth speaker, and it sounded fine, but the lack of stereo separation bothered me. I thought “I’ll just go online and look for a two-speaker Bluetooth setup that would be true stereo. Surely there must be a bunch of those on the market.” Turns out, they’re almost as rare as unicorns.After reading the reviews of these OontZ Angle 3 Pro dual speakers, I decided to give them a try. They’re a big improvement on the single Bose speaker. I can put one speaker on each side of the deck table and get real stereo. The set-up was much easier than I thought it would be – the booklet that comes with the speakers is very informative. Basically, all you have to do to set the speakers up in stereo is turn both of them on, hook one of them up to your phone (or whatever you’re playing music on) via Bluetooth, then hold a button down on that speaker for a few seconds until it finds and pairs with the other speaker. At that point, one speaker will say “Left Channel” and the other will say “Right Channel” and you’re good to go. If, for some reason, you wanted both speakers to play the same thing instead of being left/right channels, you just hold that button down again until it switches out of stereo mode. Once I had the speakers set up for stereo, they just default to that when I turn them on now.Sound quality-wise, my only complaint is that the speakers could use more bass, but given their size I’m not surprised that they don’t sound like a massive sub-woofer. Initially, I thought the sound was a bit too mid-rangey, but the app I use to play MP3s (Musicolet) has a built-in equalizer, so I was able to tweak it until it sounded great (apart from wishing there was a bit more bass).The stereo imaging is perfect. I tried setting one speaker on each arm of my living room couch and sitting dead center between them to listening to Roger Waters’ “Amused to Death”, which was recorded with binaural technology. The vocals sounded like they were coming from right in front of my face, while in the background thunder rumbled across the room and barking dogs sounded like they were outside. It was pretty amazing.I saw a couple reviews that claimed that the maximum volume isn’t that loud – it’s plenty loud for me. I don’t even turn them up all the way out on the deck because I don’t want to irritate the neighbors.There’s a app you can download that supposedly gives you more control over the speakers, but I so far they’re doing everything I want from them right out of the box, so I haven’t bothered with the app.Battery life seems fine. I fully charged them when they first arrived last week, and have probably listened to a total of 10 hours or so of music since then, and they’re still going strong.Overall, I’m very happy with these speakers. If Amazon allowed fractional ratings, I’d probably give them 4.5 stars, but I don’t mind rounding that up to a 5.

Sound quality is terrible.Sound quality it very tinny. My neighbor has an earlier version of these speakers, and they sounded great. I ordered the step above his thinking they’d be better.. absolutely no bass (despite downloading the app. and maxing the bass and minimizing the metalic treble. Wish I could return – but alas, the return window has closed. So tinny, sounds like I’m listening to an AM radio.🙁

CoolReally love the dual stereo mode or synced speaker mode. These are very loud for their size. Durability could be improved, and I’ve enjoyed better sound quality on my JBL xtreme, but that was also much more expensive. For the price, these are pretty hard to beat.

beats many overpriced speakersThis is by far one of my fav portable speakers, I had a working OontZ and the micro usb got damaged, it takes days to get a charge.This one is great with the usb-c and when the old one is active they can work together to give you a much better sound experience.overall, I will buy again but at $60 or less, come on… These should be priced at that, otherwise sellers are just getting greedy.

It’s not as good as JBL or UE Boom, but for price it is decent.I needed a speaker with an AUX input and this speaker was the one.I originally bought a JBL portable speaker (because it said it had an AUX port) and it sounded really good, but I needed an AUX input for my old projector, so I returned it and bought the Oontz for less money.The Oontz sound quality isn’t as good as the JBL or the 2 UE Boom speakers we have, but it served the purpose we needed it for; to have sound on my animated pumpkins for Halloween.I have been using the Oontz around the house to listen to music, and it is slightly muffled. I played around with the very limited equalizer in the app and on other equalizers on my phone, but I could never attain a great clean sound.I originally wanted to give it 3 stars. However, my wife and I did a comparison test with her smaller UE Boom speaker. While the Boom was only slightly better, she said I was being to hard on my review and I should give it 4 stars. If I could give1/2 stars, I would give sound quality 3.5 stars in the rate features.For the price, the quality of the sound is decent, but if you are willing to spend the money (and don’t need an AUX input), go for the better brand.

Very good sound for the price UPDATEDUPDATE: Upon side-by-side comparison with the Doss Soundbox XL – the Doss won by a landslide. Almost identical price, cleaner sound, more power, much better bass response, zero clipping. I didn’t need portability or for it to be waterproof, so the OontZ was returned. FWIW, my thoughts on this unit are still mostly valid. (2/17/2021)I chose this speaker for a combination of its ratings and price and claims to have sound quality rivaling much higher priced units. It arrived today and I immediately sent it a serious test of capacity, sound, clarity and bass with the newly-released metal album from Durbin, The Beast Awakens (which is awesome, by the way and plays as I write this). I replaced an older Bose Soundlink Mini which I’ve loved for many years. My initial thoughts and opinions:1. The speaker had zero charge when unboxed and is still charging, more than 4 hours later. So in went the plug and I set to pairing my iPhone 12 Pro Max with almost no problems although it was as if the two had to get used to each other before they paired and stayed paired. That said, I did have one drop when open/closing another app on the phone. We’ll see how the battery does when I take it from room to room in the future.2. Output definitely needs tweaking for optimum sound IMHO. I initially tested many native iOS EQ presets, none of which were really perfect. I installed the OontZ app and was very disappointed to see only bass and treble adjustments in 5 increments each (this app could be MUCH better…). However, after much trial and error I did end up leaving a combination of those two as my default when I finally hit upon the setup that made me look at the speaker and think… “ok, maybe you can stay…”3. Comparison… I went back and forth between the OontZ and my Bose – which is physically much smaller than the OontZ. Clarity is actually fairly similar – which was a relief because I was afraid it was going to be muddy. The OontZ out-basses the Bose by a significant margin and for the most part was clean. Midrange wasn’t brash or irritating, and like the highs, was pretty clear.4. Volume. Well, a bit disappointed here, but perhaps it’s all one can expect for the size (and price). It was a tad more powerful than the Bose (again, an older Soundlink Mini) but there is clipping and distortion at higher volumes that for me is unlistenable. I can’t quite get 100 dB out of it before it gets ugly, but fairly close. Again, probably reasonable enough for size/price.5. Musical flexibility. I listen to a LOT of audiobooks, and the OontZ performed well with the spoken word. Back to the iOS EQ and classical was crisp and clean. Pop was… well, typical pop. 😉 Traditional Celtic music, choral, African, acoustic, blues, (and metal!)… the whole library was fairly well-reproduced.6. This is intended for indoor, generally stationary use, so I haven’t mentioned or tested water resistance.My Conclusion. This is a decent little unit with good power and mostly clean sound, especially considering its price tag. It’s not my ex’s Meridian system, but I didn’t have to spend $10k, either. 😉 Especially when you remember you’re playing .aac and .mp3 files, not CDs or vinyl, it works fine and I’m enjoying the listening experience without having spent too much money.

A great product for the price.This is not a premimum product, but it’s a very good product for the price. It has clear sound, excellent mids, and decent bass for such a small speaker. It’s too small to have deep bass, and it’s not going to shake the ground, but it has a good range.when playing the speaker at full blast, there is no distortion. Battery is good, doesn’t last quite as long as advertised, but almost. I haven’t tried the surround sound with other speakers so I can’t review that.The bottom line, is that it’s a very good budget speaker.
