Used but in awesome condition!I will say, I was a bit hesitant when ordering this, even though it was Amazon cleared used. I will say I immediately opened it to test it out and I could not have been more pleased. Levels are great, no cracking in the audio, seamless integration to Bluetooth and strong signal. My fears have been put to rest and I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely consider Amazon certified used items in the future.

Great sounding audio and long battery lifeI bought this after trying out one my friend had. The sound is great! We’ve used it out in the backyard, and get clear, clean sound from the box. Volume range is also terrific…it can boom if you want it to. I’ve also attached a wireless mic and use the unit for events. I like the fact that there are multiple USB ports, so you can charge your phone while using it as a sound source. A really cool feature is if you have 2 in the area, they can detect each other and play music in true stereo! Overall very impressed with this speaker.

Like NewFirst time buying refurbished from Amazon. Arrived in original packaging and looks like a brand new unit. Only issue I have is the rubber pieces that protect the power plug and usb/line plugs don’t stay sealed if I’m moving it around a lot. I don’t know if a new unit would be any different. Sound quality is pretty good and the bass bumps. I bought this as a work radio and have had it about a month now. It’s still going on it’s first charge. The battery life is amazing! I use this at work and as my work van radio. My van only has am/fm so I keep this between the seats and use Bluetooth. I will likely get a 2nd one to pair with this one for more sound when partying in my yard, but it’s not necessary. Plenty of volume with a single unit.

not the upgrade i was looking fori have several ions. i have one of the first small ones that had the old big iphone charger on top, a couple block rockers and now two of these. my block rocker was being used for cheer squad routines and just wasn’t loud enough. looking at it’s specs, i saw that the block rocker had a power output of 50w and the patherfinders are 120w. i thought that was pretty significant and would translate to an increase in volume. the pathfinders linking ability and charging function was a great bonus.so, i bought two. (i ordered the refurbished ones – i’m pretty certain that mine were never even opened, they appear brand new, even had the plastic film that covers the screen on them, and at $120 are a fantastic deal) functionally, they are great. they link together (one slaves to the other, just connect BT to one), sound is clear, throws to the sides, bass boost, etc. what i found to be disappointing is that they are the same loudness as the block rocker. the sound quality is a little better, but i needed volume. when linked and about 10′ from each other (max distance is 15′, at 20′ the link gets very distorted), they are an improvement, so, i don’t think it’s money wasted, but if you already have an ion, don’t expect a huge improvement.one of these did fall out of the back of my suburban and took a pretty solid hit, jacked up the plastic a bit, but it still works just fine.

Good speaker, short-lived battery. This speaker was great! I bought it last christmas and used it mostly plugged in under my desk just as an external speaker for my computer. The worst thing is though after having it plugged in constantly, the battery will not work on its own anymore. Although it is to be expected, battery life does shorten drastically with use while charging, but just after half a year is a bit underperforming. Great otherwise though, just be careful and stick to 1 way of using it, either portable or not.

The “link” option works great to have two speakers!I bought the Pathfinder 4 and the this ion 280 and “link”them together wirelessly. They both work great! At work I’ll use the Qi charger on the 4 but IT IS CRAZY SLOW fyi. This ion 280 has a water right enclosure on top instead of the Qi so I’ll keep a Qi magnetic usb cord in it and it’s way faster to use an after market Qi charger on either speaker. But I bought both used on Amazon so they were half price roughly and ion sells user installable batteries cheap anyways so no brainer. The link works further than the Bluetooth on a phone and super clear, synced audio but it’s not super far. It’ll work upstairs and downstairs but pretty much has to be above one another. Fyi. I have 20+ wireless speakers and this one is my favorite. If I were to get two to link together I’d just get two of these 280s.

Well worth the moneyWe use our speaker to go to cattle shows, it’s dirty and dusty and very loud before adding listening to music. We spent 4 days at a show having the music going almost a full 8 hours each day and the battery life only went down to half. The speaker is loud and everyone thought it was a great purchase.Highly recommend.

This is the best outdoor speaker if you want battery life and loud good sound. You can’t use a handheld bluetooth speaker for an outdoor party. I have been places where people do this and I’d rather not have music than have some little speaker blasting out distorted tinny music. That’s where the Tailgater series comes in. This is my second tailgater speaker and I would buy no other brand.Pros:Massive Battery that will last through any party or easily a week or two of casual listening every day.Great Sound that actually fills your outdoor spaceBuilt in USB Charger (I use mine to power a ChromeCast Audio)Lights that look great day or night but really shine at nightNo proprietary battery or charging cable. Its a standard C13 power cord.WaterproofCons:It’s heavy. You can’t get around this if you want a loud speaker with good battery life.
