Returned audio adapter since the camera is a week old and never used. Received 2nd adapter and same issue so cant be the adapter must be the camera. Now as summer comes to a close I am waiting for GoPro to receive my return and send me another camera since I was 5 days past the refund date and couldnt just go to BestBuy and buy another one….Started doing research and yep the audio adapter issues are happening to a lot of users. For this much money this should not be happening and the camera should not be getting this hot. I live in TX dont want to hear the heat shut the camera down…

Gopro 8 is a buy now!The gopro 8 is amazing in every way. I am blown away with the upgrades to it. The hyper-lapse feature has already paid for the gopro 10x over doing a job where I needed the ability to go into realtime for a few secs and back to hyper-lapse. I wish the app would catch up and allow you to switch to real time from hyper-lapse remotely instead of only on camera.The only issue is getting it properly mounted bc the mounting clips that pull down are convenient, but tend to make it wobble or very easy to set up crooked. The other thing with this package is that the “mini” tripod is a waste. It’s made of cheap plastic and has broken already, I would like to see a nice metal one that extends a little further and threaded so it can go on a tripod or light stand.

Best action cameraIt can shoot 4K at 50/60 frames per second, and the image quality in this video mode is perfect on a bright day (but degrades a lot indoors and in the night – the noise becomes annoying once the ISO setting goes beyond 800). The electronic stabilization is great under a bright light. In dim light the electronic stabilization results into artifacts that ruin the image (so you should either use a gymbal, or mount it to a heavy stable object, or freeze when shooting your video). 2.7K seems to be a fake mode added for marketing purposes only – the quality looks the same as when upsampling the image shot in 1080. But the 4K video quality blows all competitor cameras away.

Hero8 BlackThis product came quick, I immediately used it to cover a soccer match. Great Quality in picture resolution and being able to hear the players. At a high enough angle you can see the distance of the field and persons. Battery life is just ok, but it came with 2 and that holds a full 90 min match plus.

Did not last, dead in 1 year – Gopro will not replace.It would be nice if Gopro had a heart, but they do not. We purchased this Gopro in 2021 for a Hawaii trip, later canceled because of the pandemic. Now rescheduled, and preparing for the journey, I find the GoPro8 will not turn on. Maybe it was the batteries!? So I purchased 3 new batteries and a charger. Nothing. No faint led light, or flicker of the screen. The camera had perished – without a single experience, not one captured memory, not even for a swim in the bath tub. Sad as I was, I contacted Gopro. Just a year past the purchase date, they told me fairwell, there is nothing more that they can do, besides a, “bye-bye”. The company has a line to tell their patients, “Because the phone was not used often, it can die.” Loneliness. I get it. I wish I had purchased two cameras, so they could be friends. All joking aside, this was our second Gopro and our last. I would discourage anyone from this version. A search on the inter-webs for” broken Hero8″, will leaving you sobbing from their stories of disappointments they had loosing their Hero8, and many share my same story – never used, but just once right out of the box, a picture of the living room floor, and a short clip of the cat, if some are so lucky. It’s just not worth the money. If Gopro will not acknowledge a serious problem with a defective device, or even compensate for the loss of a poor product at a step price, then they are a theif, a con, and will ultimately break your heart. We are done, Gopro, this relationship is over!
