About time I had oneFor having this only a few weeks now, I’m 100% satisfied with it overall. However, I found out after having it and checking into the whole “use as a webcam” feature, it can ONLY be done with an Apple computer, via BETA software, and isn’t possible without a capture card setup over USB C to DisplayPort… Would have been good to read that in here instead of GoPro’s site… But I digress.It’s pretty fantastic. I’ve used it as a dashcam (primary reason I purchased), mounted as a body cam on my vest, and both uses it takes absolutely phenomenal videos with. The stabilization while driving is superb, very much some of the best video I’ve taken in the car with any camera, even when pushing the limits of driving quite a lot, allowing for crystal clear videos. There’s some oddness with the sound pickup, at times, but I think that’s something to do with the included surround case being shifted around just enough to obstruct the microphone ports. When it isn’t having that issue, the sound is as superb and clean as the video is.I’ve gotten it splashed with water, gotten dirt on it, and other things I may be hesitant to do with other cameras or devices. It cleans up easily and quickly with either a few drops of water and soft cloth, paper towel or napkin, and cleans up fastest with electronic cleaning wipes (aka, 50/50 split of 50% rubbing alcohol and water, works perfect especially).The downside is that the quality settings, resolution settings, are very minimalist. It can not dive below 1080p in any mode. The result is all video files are absolutely MASSIVE, even at 30fps, but especially at 60fps. And, it will split the video file every 17 minutes, making the max file sizes the most compatible at 3.8GB, just shy of the 4GB max to allow for use on almost all computer file systems without any issues… Which is good, but for my PC, wasn’t necessary, and there’s no way to change it from doing so.The battery life isn’t terrible, it can take about an hour and a half solid of 1440p/60fps video before it’s close to flat.There are some points where I have various software glitches, both on the iPad app and on the camera itself, but nothing so major that I’ll tick a star for it. 9/10 times I have zero issues with it and the one off is easy to resolve, so, I’ll let that go.I’ll most certainly invest in a higher tier model for my next one, no doubt, as they do actually get better up the product range in pretty substantial ways, but this was an extremely solid entry point for an action camera and it’s going to see a whole heck of a lot of use.

Great camera with amazing performance but doesn’t have removable batteryI upgraded from GoPro Hero 5 and this is a huge difference, like the night and day difference. Video quality is amazing and the touchscreen is intuitive.Battery life is not bad but for my applications it could be longer. I didn’t realize it before my purchase, but the battery’s built in, which is a bit of a bummer. The battery life is about 3 hours on a full charge, so I’ll need a battery pack, for my hiking trips.You must take into account that GoPro no longer comes with a waterproof case, you have to buy it separately.Overall, I have no complaints and would highly recommend this for people that are looking for great quality but without spending more.————————————————————————————————————————–Me he actualizado desde la GoPro Hero 5 y la diferencia es enorme, como la noche y el día. Be aware of this Gopro Hero 7 and it’s follies!The media could not be loaded.
Well I do enjoy using this Gopro Hero 7 for some footage of outings and trips I take, it is light weight and with the accessory kit I got to go with it can take it just about anywhere and practically use it! There are definitely some set backs you should be aware of if not with a Gopro in general at least with this particular model! It has no battery, meaning there is no place for you to insert a battery should you want to keep spares, it only has a charge port for a usb cable and does not come with a charger so you will need to use your phones or buy an after market charger to plug it in! For the $300.00 I spent I feel it is a little cheap, it freezes up very easily like when you want to erase media that you already uploaded to your computer! Know that in between video recordings just like using your smart phone that any real length of recording will get cut up into several videos! When your Gopro does freeze up like I had mentioned just for trying to free up space in it from any media you have to let the battery run out, recharge it, and then you can erase what you need to or do whatever you were trying to do with it! Yes it takes acceptional footage but I am not really impressed with this being brand new and for it’s price! I think people might of overly talked it up or at least if you are considering buying a Gopro you are best advised to look at other model options! If I did it all over again I might even just settle for a very middle of the road camera, I mean an actual camera!

AwesomeI bought this to record skiing and mountain biking. It does a great job, when skiing you need to take all steps to preserve battery life and take a couple extra along. The colder temperatures sap the battery life, swap the batteries and put them in a pocket will warm them up and I’ve seen as much as 50% of battery life return. One note; the clear plastic protective care that came with this kit does not work with the hero 7 black, the camera is about 1/4″ too thick front to back for the cover to close. The hero 7 is a bit thinner, I’m not sure if they put the wrong case in my order or what, that might have helped protect it from the cold…. I knocked the rating for that reason.

Great Quality Action Camera, Short Battery LifeThe GoPro Hero 7 Black is a great action camera. Delivers high quality video while moving, with multiple mounting devices and methods available. I purchased a magnetic mount to record video on my Polaris RZR UTV, and the camera delivered excellent quality video while driving off-road over rough terrain at high speed! The magnetic mount is a great option since you can mount it to any iron-containing material or you can separate the two magnets and position one on one side of a non-magnetic surface (e.g. windshield, clothing, etc.) and then mount the camera with attached magnet on the opposite side…quick, easy and clean! I was a little disappointed in camera battery life (about 1 hour of video on a full charge); however I was prepared for this by reading previous reviews, and purchased the camera with 2 batteries included and an additional 3 batteries purchased separately.

Disposable cameraWorked good for about a year. Then it starts to have problems. This is my 3rd GoPro. About the time you think you need to replace the battery, you find that doesn’t solve the problem. It’s just time to throw the camera away and get a new one.
