We didn’t like the very vague written directions. Then we realized you had to download the app for directions. In the end we ended up going to YouTube to find several different videos for what we needed to learn how to fly.We did like how much fun it was once we learned how to fly it. The picture and video quality is great.

Easy to use, Top quality drone with fantastic picture quality
Having played around with toy drones (cheaper to crash) I wanted an an easy to use quality drone with an extended control range and good camera quality. Having had my Mavic Air for a few weeks, I can say I found what I was looking for!Once the DJI Go 4 software was downloaded to my phone and my phone connected to the controller, I was able to fly like a pro. The controller is easy to connect to any recent phone and the images for the first person view have only a small lag. The gimbal on the camera is absolutely amazing as I have flown the drone in significant wind 20km+ where the drone was visibly rocking back and forth in the gusts, but the video was steady. The 4k camera mode gets excellent quality video and the stills are very professional looking.I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the control range and the fpv work well beyond the legal flying range as I was getting full strength wifi signal at 400m+. Signal strength with the extended wifi very much exceeded my expectations. I have not tested the limits on control beyond the legal limit of 500m.Obstacle avoidance is front, rear and below giving you a great backup when you miss-judge how close you are to the trees! (This also makes it hard to fly indoors in a small room.)After a few flights, I was able to take the Mavic Air out of the case, and be up and running in less than a minute including calibration of the compass when necessary. The folding arms are easy to extend and seem to be very sturdy and well made. Typically, I have been getting 15-18 minutes of flight time in windy conditions while shooting 4k video. Sure I would love a half hour or more, but you can do a whole lot in 15 minutes! Low battery warnings give you adequate time to return manually to home. Surprisingly, the camera can easily be launched or landed from your hand.While this is a very fun to fly, very portable drone, I would not hesitate to call it a flying camera platform.I highly recommend!

Remote will not pair with the Drone nor link to the cell
This is my second Mavic Air.This second one arrived exceptionally fast…but – the euphoria ended there!For the life of me, I could neither pair the remote with the Drone nor link my cell to the remote. On the same note, I was able to pair my other Drone’s remote (also Mavic Air) with the new Drone (and my cell) without any issues.The red LED on the remote blinks persistently until time-out.I initiated a chat (several chats and phone-calls – as it transpired) with the Amazon agent(s) and explained that I just need the remote replaced (because the agent could not offer any other tech-support to alleviate the remote issue). Although I was happy with the Drone per se, the agent insisted that I should return the complete package – whether for a refund or for a replacement.And, I agreed for a replacement; the biggest mistake! Should have asked for a refund.A replacement order was immediately created – with delivery in two days.Come two days, and the replacement is not even shipped (picked) let alone get delivered.After innumerable chats and phone calls – I finally got one agent to cancel the replacement order so I can live with the defective (out of the box) I received.I do see several helpful notes from various people on YT and other media – with combination button-push to reset the remote. It works for some, and doesn’t work for the rest. DJI says the FW should be compatible. Well, if the remote doesn’t link to the cell (and to the drone) – out of the box, how are we expected to update the remote FW? DJI has to look into it.Getting a replacement item from Amazon? No way! Very poor support/service, and the agents can’t see where the delay is, and nor can they do anything to expedite it.

Una de las baterias no funciona.
El dron es un juguete divertido pero si fue complicado poder usarlo sin ningun conocimiento tecnico. Tuve que pedir a un amigo experto en video produccion ayuda para echarlo a volar. Aun el con experiencia tuvo que estudiarle para iniciar. El problema fue con el software que tuvo que regresarlo a una version anterior para de ahi partir. Ya configurado es muy facil de volar y con muy buena calidad de video. La zona donde vueles influye si hay mucha interferencia. Recomendado poner regreso a punto de partida si pierde la señal. Asi en automatico regresa a su lugar de despegue. Bajo la calificacion ya que una de las 3 pilas que vienen no funciona. Pude reclamar pero tendria que haber devuelto todo y eso no me agrada, decidi dejarlo asi.

Increíblemente fácil de volar
Muy fácil de usar, muy estable, realmente un equipo con una ingeniería extraordinaria, la calidad del vídeo y la fotografía, excelente, la calidad de construcción, es muy buena, todos los materiales se sienten de la mejor calidad, incluso los accesorios, cables, maleta, todo es muy bueno y muy bien pensado, lo único que podría ser mejor y por lo cual no le doy las 5 estrellas es pq la batería dura muy poco, real puedes volar 15 min, y aunque compre el combo con baterías extra, tienes que bajarlo cambiar batería y seguir con lo que estabas, suficiente para perder un buena toma, creo DJI podría fabricar baterías de alta capacidad como un upgrade estoy seguro que muchos las compraríamos.

Todo excelente con el dron.En una ocasión lo volé cerca de lineas de alta tensión eléctrica y a partir de entonces la calibración de la brújula a bordo es engorrosa por ser repetitiva vuelo tras vuelo y en ocaciones complicada, será necesario cargar con un imán para re-alinear la brújula y conseguir que vuele nuevamente.
