It Worked Almost the Whole TimeThe media could not be loaded.
I purchased this 200W COB LED Stage Spotlight to add additional flood lighting to our stage for an event we had. It did amazingly well at lighting up the entire right side of the 24ft x 18ft stage from about 20ft away and 15ft up on our light tree… that is, until the event was about to start. That’s when the light went out and the back display panel started flashing and flickering. I tried troubleshooting on site real quick with no resolution. I thought maybe it was over heated, but the fan was still running on it so I took it down from the tree and let it sit while a adjusted my other lights to try and make up for the darkened right side of the stage. After letting it cool for a while and during a brief intermission I attempted to power it back up and connected it directly to my DMX controller, it worked almost the whole time it was down off the tree then all the sudden the spot went out and the back started flickering again, but then magically after about 10 min of flicker and random flashes it came on in all it’s glory and worked for a good 20 min. I was hopeful that it would continue and that maybe a gremlin had been released, but once again after putting it on the tree and adjusting the lights it decided that it would not work again and I was sad. I would have given it two stars if it had failed after the event, but sadly it didn’t even make it that far.

An Odd Lighting FixtureThis Beetopper COB light is virtually identical to the 100 watt version that I also own, so below is the review I posted for the 100 watt version, which equally applies to this 200 watt version.This Beetopper light is a strange one. It’s clearly marketed for DJ, church and theater use, but it has more attributes of a videography light than a theatrical light. Typically, the sorts of lights used in the event and theater world have a numbder of RBG LED beads that allow you to program the light for different colors. This light has a single white LED (you can change the color temperature, so that you can go from daylight to warm white, but there are no other colors). In fact, they refer to the light as a COB (chip-on-board) light, which is a common reference for video lights and an odd one for theatrical lights. The presence of barn doors is also strange in a theatrical setting, but fairly common in a videography setting. For theater use, I don’t see why anyone would want a light with just a white LED, when RGB lights can give you white and huge range of additional colors. The issue for video use is that this fixture has a CRI rating of just 92 (the description actually says 92 in one place and 90 in another), but videographers typically require a 95+ CRI. On the other hand, this fixture has typical DMX controls, which are common in a theatrical setting and uncommon in a videography setting. All of which begs the question, just who is this light for? The one use I’ve come up with is to light a green screen, since exacting color temperature in that setting isn’t critical, they put out a decent amount of light, and the barndoors are actually useful. The overall quality of the light is decent, but I really dislike Betoppers practice of having these hardwired DMX cables that dangle from the fixture, rather than the typical recepitcals (all I can think is that it is cheaper to manufacture using the tails). The bottom line is that this fixture does what it is advertised to do, but isn’t versatile enough for DJ/theatrical use and not accurate enough for videography use, so it’s hard to recommend it.

Quality lightThere is nothing better than good lighting as an essential part of every event. Betopper is a led lighting lamp designed especially for scenarios, so the quality and guarantee is highly guaranteed. Includes an instruction manual, brackets and installation screws. It is designed in a lightweight aluminum material but the lamp in general is perceived to be a little heavy, of course nothing you can’t stand or load. The barn door is ideal for giving direction to the lighting, but this lamp can still be used in its basic form. It’s a bright light and great for events.

Pro quality – powerful LED lighting system!This is a powerful 200W COB (chip on board) LED that has a number of professional features. Lots of power options, daisy chaining capability, and the option for controlling the light with a professional DMX controller. The light itself is extremely powerful and bright.The included barn doors are a nice touch, they work well to control/focus the light. They required a bit of assembly, but nothing too difficult.The light appears high quality, you can hear a fan go on when the light is powered-on (internal cooling). I love the digital adjustable color temp option, much better than having to color match using gels! Overall I’ve been very happy with it – 5-stars!

May cause the neighborhood to think is time for the raptureThis is one awesome light and stands true to its COB label. Just be careful because I definitely drew my neighbors attention when i was..well being a child. Apparently twirling it around was causing my neighbors aliens or the rapture was happening. Joking aside I expect this light to give me several years of light.

Nice budget stage light with good quality construction.Pros:• Super bright light output.• Barn doors are included so you can shape the light as you need to,• The two brackets can act as a sturdy stand for the light to be placed on the ground, or the light can be hung from ceiling rigging. They aren’t really suitable for a regular light stand where the light sits over the support, they’re designed for the light to hang.• All metal construction.• They can be daisy chained with a combination XLR/power cable.• There are three color temperature settings: warm white, cool white, and warm yellow so you can change the look of the light without having to use filters.• The light output is fully dimmable so you can dial in the brightness you need for your setup.Cons:• Fan noise is really loud, making these totally unsuitable for setups where quiet lights are needed, e.g. video shoots.• The packaging was inadequate. The box has styrofoam at the top and bottom but it leaves the sides vulnerable to being damaged, and there were a couple of holes in the box that I received. The bag of black machine screws used to attach the barn door had come loose in the box and a couple of them had fallen inside the light so I had to shake them out. One was missing so I had to go to the hardware store to pick up another.Other notes:• These lights are not weatherproof at all so aren’t suitable for outside setups unless you provide your own weatherproofing solution.This is a pretty decent budget stage light with some serious light output. It’s definitely a good value for money.

Good utility lightsGot these for my son to build up his lighting kit. Nice utility lights to use as key, back or fill lights – the barn doors help you guide the light right where you want it. The units don’t generate a lot of heat given the light levels produced. Highly recommended
