Event sponsorships are a vital part to any event marketing campaign, but one of the hardest parts of securing the right event sponsors is knowing where to look. How do you find sponsors for an event?
Consider the banana.
Let’s say you have 5 dozen of them you have sell—stat.
Would you have better luck selling them to a flock of pigeons or a bunch of monkeys?
My bet is with the monkeys. There’s no way to know if pigeons even like bananas. How can you expect to sell your supply if you don’t have the proper demand?
The point of this ridiculous example is: sell to those who want what you’re selling.
It’s sales 101, but plenty of event organizers overlook this fact when the need for sponsors becomes urgent and overbearing. It’s not uncommon for event organizers to develop a kind of tunnel vision as they get desperate in their quest to secure event sponsors.
So: how to get sponsors for an event?
