Surprising value, surprisingly well built, surprisingly bright
Needed to build a makeshift stage at our business for a small comedy show performance and these V-Show DMX fresnels seemed to match the bill. I had already bought an “adjustable zoom” fresnel light from a different brand that was very underwhelming in terms of brightness, build quality, and noise. Figured I would take a gamble on these. I am so glad I did! We’ve had these installed for about 6 months now without any problems at all. They’re BRIGHT, very solidly built, and come with a beefy power cord. The manually adjustable beam is very welcomed for our application and since they’re more or less “permanently” installed in a fixed location, manual adjustment was just fine for my application. They’ve exhibited no issues for me so far. I am using them with both a cheapo Rockville DMX console as well as QLC+ on Mac paired with the V-Show Artnet to DMX interface. Both DMX interfaces have proven to be solid with these fresnels.Shortly after unboxing when initially testing, I connected the light to an AC power meter. In the fully on (DMX channel 1 to 255 or 100%) configuration, the fixture was drawing ~179 watts of AC power. Not the 200 that is claimed on the product listing, but pretty darn close. In standby (all dmx channels at 0, no light output) the power consumption is 6 watts. Therefore, we can deduce that the LED is roughly 170 watts when fully on. Not bad for the 200 watt claim. I’ve had some fixtures claim 100 watts, but only measure 40-50 watts. Even at 170 watts, I don’t think you’ll complain. These are *bright* and are a serious contender for other “pro” brands, in my opinion. The 300 watt version of this light would be way too much for our space since i usually run these around 30-40% brightness during our shows.I’m overall very happy with the 2 of these lights as well as all of the other V-Show products I’ve purchased. I would recommend these if you’re looking for a solid DMX fresnel light to use in your theater or stage application!

It does what it’s supposed to do.
Very pleased with our purchase of two of these theatre lights. Hope to buy more. They’re good looking, well made, and good value.

Impressive quality for the price
I have been a technical director and a lighting designer for over 20 years. I am very picky about equipment brands. I took a chance on these lights for a black box theatre I help manage, and I have to say so far I am very impressed. The build quality, brightness, and dimming responsiveness is great. Time will tell if they hold up over time. Great lights for anyone on a budget.

Didn’t last
I bought a few of these to serve as side washes for our stage. Two died completely. Won’t power on at all.

Dead after 8 months.
Bought this for a children’s theater at a church. Very disappointed at how long it lasted.

1 year max life
After one year, only one still works out of 8. Not worth it.
