Solid Option for Podcasting but with Room for ImprovementI purchased the MAONO 192KHZ/24Bit Plug & Play PC Computer Podcast Condenser mic for my podcasting setup and overall I am satisfied with the purchase. The mic is easy to set up and the sound quality is good. However, there are a few areas where I think the product could be improved. Firstly, the mic is quite sensitive and picks up a lot of background noise. I had to invest in a separate noise cancelling filter to reduce this issue. Secondly, the mic stand is not very stable and I have had to use additional equipment to keep it in place.Despite these issues, the MAONO 192KHZ/24Bit Plug & Play PC Computer Podcast Condenser mic is a solid option for podcasting and I would recommend it to others, but with the aforementioned considerations. 4 stars

Best for this price range. It really is.I recently purchased the MAONO USB microphone and have been extremely impressed with its performance. As someone who frequently records audio for podcasts and YouTube videos, I was in need of a high-quality microphone that would deliver professional-grade sound. The MAONO microphone has definitely exceeded my expectations.One of the standout features of this microphone is its plug-and-play design, which makes it incredibly easy to set up and start using right out of the box. I was able to start recording within minutes of opening the package, which is a major convenience.The professional sound chipset is another highlight of the MAONO microphone. It delivers crystal clear, rich audio that is perfect for recording, gaming, singing, and more. I’ve used the microphone for a variety of purposes and have consistently been blown away by the quality of the sound it produces.The cardioid pickup pattern is also a great feature, as it does an excellent job of isolating the sound source and reducing background noise. You want to stand with the pros? Get this!I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this item, but it has done well. If you want to get into podcasting or narration then this is a great entry level product. Plugs right into your USB port and you can go to town or at least to recording your voice. I have it for my MacBook Air. Everything you need is in the box. Stand, microphone, little round thing that goes in front of mic. It’s a great product for the money. I use it for narration of books and I feel like a pro with it, in fact I tell my wife when the recording light is on, stand back, because I am, well recording and I am recording like a pro. I recommend also buying a set of headphones too.

Odd pitch distortionEasy plug and play. Little background noise. Sound quality is great for the price.I get this odd pitch distortion effect as if someone were constantly turning up and down a slider. Reaches almost a half-tone up and down.

Great audio qualityHonestly I don’t have anything to say that’s bad about it I mean it’s great if you wanted to you could probably pick up sound like across the house lol now obviously that’s not ideal but it’s a great quality mic is what I’m saying definitely worth the money.

USB mic – works great for my applicationI have a much more expensive Rode mic but it’s for my camera with no clean way to connect it to my computer. This Maono mic with boom arm and USB connection could not be easier to setup and use. I use it primarily for voiceover on videos for posting on YouTube and have also used it to record acoustic guitar for background music on videos.

Very impressedStandard for all my reviews: When reviewing products, I always remain objective and honest about the product or service. I always review with information that I feel others would like to know about the product as I always assume what I’m writing will influence for or against the purchase. I always try to go above and beyond surface characteristics and input into quality, value and application. Most importantly, I will always end the review with an answer as to whether I’d purchase the product again which I believe is the most critical question pertaining to the item. To manufacturers: Want me to review your items, just let me know!When purchasing electronic gadgetry, I rarely go the ‘cheap’ route. I started my research with the expectation of purchasing the Blue Yeti combo which includes the mic, shock mount and scissor arm. But at $300 I wasn’t sure if I really needed to go all-in for it. After thoroughly searching reviews and comparing products I decided I’d give this Maono combo pack a go. It comes with the condenser mic, scissor arm, shock mount, and pop filter. The price point of about $60 left me wondering just what I’d be getting but figured if it was terrible, I’d return it, use it somewhere else or simply replace it with a better unit.I’m not a BIG podcaster but have multiple online meetings, participate in events and want to get more into podcast hosting in the future but mostly just wanted a unit I could keep on hand, ready to go and push it out of the way when not needed. Perhaps my bar for expectation was too low given the price point but I’m VERY impressed with this set up for the price.The installation was an absolute breeze. In fact, it was so easy, I didn’t even look at the instructions until the end as I thought I had to have missed something. I was able to get it set up in probably 5 minutes and it is truly plug and play with your PC (Windows 10). I plugged it into my USB hub, the PC immediately recognized it and I was ready to go. I did a quick test of mic volume and level and it sounds awesome. All the attachments are intuitive, easy to adjust and attach. As you can see on the one picture, I have the arm attached to the back side of my stand-up desk. It’s secure and very easy to swing out of the way. The arm is plenty adjustable, swings easily and I can position the mic in any number of positions based on what I’m needing. I have yet to use the pop filter and probably won’t unless I’m on a very important podcast/show.As far as the mic itself, couldn’t ask for more. Levels appear good. Volume is good. The only thing to be aware of is that it is a directional mic and, therefore, you need to make sure the “Maono” name and logo on the mic are facing you when mounting it. If you don’t, it’s going to sound like you are in a closet or under your desk when talking. I tested it in a number of different distances and angles and it has great sensitivity and volume. It has only been two days since I’ve been using it so I can speak to the durability of the parts, pieces or electronics but everything appears well made, solid and durable. The others on my meeting said I sounded great.I would, without a doubt, purchase this product again and am very glad I saved the $250 to go this route first. Two big thumbs up for this Maono product at this price point.

Loose in some partsThe mic will not tighten in some parts which makes it a little wobbly while moving the arm and you have to readjust the mic as well as there is no specific place to clamp the noise suppressor onto the arm . However, the sound is great and easy to setup and use.

Must get for budget streaming/gamingIt’s very nice I didn’t need the pop filter that much and it works fine and can record your voice good enough and it helped me get one step closer to a budget setup and it works as good as those $300 mics.
