Good sound but there is better value for the money.I’m comparing this to to my 8″ keiid and micca speakers. For the price I’m not expecting studio monitor just decent sound. This falls somewhere in the middle in terms of sound quality. It is not as loud as either of my other speakers (same resistance) but it does sound better than the keiid ($35/speaker). I do prefer the sound on the Micca which is cheaper by a couple bucks ($45/speaker). The Micca also has some adjustment on the tweeter which I’d like to see on this given the price. This does have the adjustment switches on the front side which is nice since my other speakers need to be fully removed (not just the grille) to adjust. The downside is they don’t actually seem to do anything from what I can tell. I’ve tried all combinations of both switches and can’t really make out a difference. The owners manual is just an install guide. I’m not finding any info on the switches at all. I only knew to look for them because I can see them on the back side. Idk if they are crossover adjustment or phase adjustment. I will have to try them again once broken in fully. It also doesn’t come with an tool on removing the grille so you can access these. It does come with a gasket and cutout guide. Also keep in mind you’ll likely need a pair, the price is just for one speaker. It’s not a terrible speaker but given the price point I do prefer my old one better.

Sound is OK, not a bad option if you’re looking for a single speakerWhat bothered me right away was that these speakers do not come in pairs, they come as a single speaker. So if you want stereo sound, you’re looking at double the price. Now you’re in the price range of better, more capable name-brand speakers. Out of the box, these look really cool, and they install fairly easily. Some knowledge of how to pull wire through your ceiling is necessary.I installed this in my garage and the sound is decent enough. At low volume it provides decent background noise. When turned up though, it exposes that tinny sound of less-than great speakers. you cannot aim them, so they just fire straight down. The picture in the advertisement shows a woman sleeping with the sound on, so maybe these really excel at white noise? Playing music in the garage during a workout, they seem to do ok, but if you’re putting these in your house to add to a sound system, I would probably look at something a little more high end.

Much bigger than expectedIt’s questionable to call this a 6.5″ speaker. True the cone is 6.5″, but the overall diameter is 9.25″ making it 2.75″ wider than than the cone. To mount the speaker you need to cut a hole over 8″. Looking at other 6.5″ speakers this appears to be the industry practice, but it ended up being a larger unit than I was expecting so I decided to return it. Yes, it was my fault for not reading the all the info so I can’t ding the speaker much, but I cannot comment on the actual performance.

This company is on the rise with their audio innovationsOkay, I must admit my headline is a bit of a click-bait. But I must state it up front. I’ve tried out 2 of their products so far and all are great! I also happened to become a little more curious about them so I went ahead and searched through their Amazon Store Page. Little do I know, aside from just speakers, they actually make quite a handful of good stuff. For the speakers I’ve tried from them, I’m on the verge of pulling the trigger to try out their wall-plate bluetooth receiver. Though there are some iffy reviews for it, I think for the price, and seeing how all of their speakers use updated designs and materials, I think they are worth the gamble.Back to these speakers, I’ve had some 4.5″, 5.25″, and now 6.5″ from these folks, and I must say, each step up, it gets a little more powerful and finally at 6.5″, the mid-range does go a lot lower in frequency to provide a good “thump” for those lows. Granted, these aren’t your competition speakers that you bring to the car shows, but at least for ceiling mounted speakers, these do have enough room for loudness. And me being way past my youthful rocking days, I didn’t need the speakers to be so loud. On contrary, I need the sound to be clean and crisp; and yes, these speakers offer that. This is more of a brand review than a speaker review, but I’ll still yield them 5-stars because as I get in touch with more of their products, I soon realize these guys are for real. All of the speakers I tried from these guys are good enough for basic ceiling mounted use. 5-stars from me.

Poor Audio, Does not Meet Bandwidth Claims, No Support Contact InfoWe obtained the StudioFinix speaker anticipating using it as a ceiling speaker in a high-fidelity sound system that uses a Denon AVR. After listening to the speaker using the Denon calibration sounds, the tinny sound became evident that StudioFinix is not a speaker meant for a high-fidelity system. Upon testing the bandwidth, we found that the StudioFinix provides less than ½ the stated bandwidth. Read on for our test results and impressions of the StudioFinix speaker. — BAD AUDIO: Bandwidth is significantly less than the seller claims. We measured the speaker’s bandwidth at only 800 Hz to 9 KHz. A far cry from the 50 Hz to 20KHz claimed. The speaker has weak tinny sound like a clock radio and definitely should not be used in a high-quality sound system. We captured the bandwidth measurement and provided it in the attached picture. For comparison, we show the bandwidth of a quality bookshelf speaker with only a 4 ½” speaker and measured identically to the StudioFinix. The bookshelf speaker sounds excellent and is reflected in the attached graph. — SLIDE SWITCHES HAVE UNKNOWN FUNCTION: Under the grill are two slide switches wired into the electronics. There is no mention in the instructions or on the Amazon webpage what these are for. See the attached picture. We tested the speaker with the switches in the positions provided upon delivery. Very poor of the seller not to specify what the speaker controls do. — BAD SUPPORT: The website provided in the instructions and printed on the speaker does not exist. No email or other contact information is provided anywhere to make contact for support or warranty issues. — BAD INSTRUCTIONS: No mention of how to remove the grill. You need to push it out from the back with a rod or screwdriver through an access hole, again not stated in the instructions. — STATED 2 SPEAKERS BUT ONLY ONE PROVIDED: The webpage states 2 speakers are included but only one speaker was shipped to me. — NO MENTION OF WALL THICKNESS: The instruction does not state the wall thickness that the integrated clamps will grip. Measuring them reveals they will grip a 3/8 to 1 1/2″ thick wall. — TWEETER CANNOT BE AIMED: The center tweeter in the speaker cannot be swiveled to better point at the main listening position. — CAPACITOR WILL EASILY BREAK: A capacitor hangs over the edge of the speaker housing and will easily break off when sliding the assembly for installation into a recess cut to the required diameter. The cap can easily be bent upwards to prevent this. See the attached picture. — REMOVE CLOTH BEFORE PAINT: The metal mesh cover has a cloth mesh behind it. This will need to be removed before painting the metal mesh cover, or else the cloth will clog up with paint preventing air or sound flow. It peels off easily. See the attached picture. Conclusion: Inferior sound with no options to contact the manufacturer for support.

Sounds GoodSpeaker was bigger than I expected. Came with template and rubber seal easy hook up and sound is good and loud. Has a clean neat look to it. Two of these and a sub gives you a very enjoyable sound. Has good size magnet and easy push to open connection making hook up easy. I ran volume at 52 for about 4 1/2 hours and no issues. Well-made speaker doesn’t get hot or distort. I have found no issue, or anything negative about it all and all I’m pleased with sound and would recommend. Enjoy

Quality sounding recessed speakersThe speakers are good quality with really good sound. The installation is pretty straightforward. I installed them in my shop ceiling. I have a drop ceiling with ceiling tiles. The installation was easy enough. The sound is very good and clear. I would recommend theses speakers
