This one does what it says at the resolutions and refresh rates claimedThis one does what it says – unlike some other of these cheaper capture cards. These other cards advertize USB 3.0 and 60Hz refresh rates but instead, are a USB 2.0 and limited to 1080p30. THIS CARD DELIVERS. While I was disappointed that the previous cards didn’t perform as advertised, I still kept them because I mixdown to 1080p30 and it was cheap enough – meaning affordable and not built like a brick – but that’s perfectly consistent with it’s price. This one puts out the 60Hz it claims.I also have a USB-C more expensive capture card that specs the same. For some reason, the video I get out of that is livelier and smoother than any of these cheap capture cards. However, the audience of my final project doesn’t appreciate the difference, nor is the difference really adding any additional value to my final product. My name brand expensive cature card is >10X the cost of this one, but I’d have to estimate that 10X the cost only gets about 50% improvement (not quote double).Couple this together with a modest camera or camcorder with clean HDMI out, and this setup is far superior to any webcam solution (old SONY 1080p camcorder + this capture dongle runs about $60 total) for even 3x the money. Once the price nears $200, there are webcam solutions with larger sensors that can compete. It’s the best I found for the price – but it can be bested by a much more expensive solution. It’s about 80% performance of the more expensive solution, but it’s over 92% less than cost of that tier of AIO webcam.
