Compatibility:
– PLEASE VERIFY YOUR CAMERA’S LENS THREAD SIZE BEFORE ORDERING. This Wide-Angle is compatible with 58MM lenses only. Lens sizes vary regardless of camera brand or model. Your camera’s lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or printed underneath your lens cap. This number is always preceded by a “Ø” (diameter) symbol. For example: Ø58 = 58mm lens thread size.
– This lens is not recommended for use with ultra-wide angle lenses.

The newer d5300 lens AF-P 18-55mm is threaded at 55mm, have to get adapter for 52mm to workI was gifted a Nikon D5300 for christmas. I have always wanted to shoot Macro so I ordered this to get my feet wet to see if I wanted to buy a true Macro lens. In the camera setup I was given it included a AF-P 18-55 lens and an old school AF-S 55-200 it works with the AF-S and fits perfectly but the thread size on the newer lens is 55mm so I am going to buy a step down ring adapter instead of sending this back and ordering the 55mm model. I even researched how to find your thread size and found it is on the inside of the lense cover, turns out that is not always true on my lens cover it clearly says 52mm, WRONG not with the newer AF-P 18-55mm lens. 55mm threads all day long. Can’t speak to the picture quality of this macro adapter yet but it seems to be made very well and is metal not plastic.

for the price, it’s surprisingly good!I bought this without many expectations but I was surprised at how good it is. The focal plane is very very shallow, and of course not being an auto focus lens you have to do that by hand. I bought this for the macro lens part, I haven’t really used the wide angle lens. Ultimately I bought a somewhat more expensive version that could do a higher magnification. But this is definitely great to decide if you want to deal with fiddling around to get things in focus.

Great picture quality, but…The reason I only gave 4 stars is because the purpose of this lens is to be able to take wide angle pictures, and I found that if I fully zoom out, you can see the black rim of the lens which does not make for quality photos. But the clarity is great and once you figure out how far to zoom out without that issue, it serves its purpose.

Be MindfulThis is a good product, just be mindful that the lens does affect the speed of shooting a tad bit, and if you aren’t careful the edges of your photos will be frayed and blurry due to the almost fish eyed appearance.

You will not regretFor that price, the quality can be considered AMAZING. Any die-hard DSLR photographer will find at least one use for that product by attaching to existing lense.

student photographer friendly!!I needed a macro lens fast for my final project for my into the darkroom class, this did the trick!It was really simple to use, which was great for something like me who has very little experience with photo lenses and such.My goal was to capture detail and this lens helped me tons! The price was very reasonable as well compared to brand name macro lenses.Personally I did not get the opportunity to use the wide angle lens so I don’t have much of an opinion on it, however the macro lens was magnificent.

A Few Major IssuesBasically you get what you pay for here. If you want a real wide angle lens you have to spend hundreds of dollars. I used this on my 18-55mm lens but it only works for 24-55mm because of vignetting (black around the edges), so I really only get 10mm of focal length instead of about 8. Also my ceiling and table appeared curved because of the “soft fisheye effect”, and I was going to use this for landscape photography but don’t want a curved horizon in my pictures. On the positive side the macro lens looks really good so that is like a bonus that you get, but I don’t do much macro photography. It is a durable lens of good quality and fits well also.
