Eventbase’s Return to Live Events Drives Growth

NFC event check-in

Eventbase is experiencing a resurgence as customers return to conducting in-person events following the shutdown of the events industry caused by COVID.

In the past six months, revenues have more than doubled, and we’ve been rapidly hiring to meet the demand for our industry-leading mobile event applications. Customers including Cisco, SAP, and Adobe, as well as the South by Southwest (SXSW) tech/music/film conference, hosted large-scale events this spring. Excitingly, the majority of Eventbase’s expansion has come from new customers, such as Salesforce, Intel, and Red Hat.

The Enchantment of Live Events

The recent global pandemic forced our customers to transition from hosting their events for customers, partners and staff in-person to hosting them virtually. While this allowed event administrators to attract attendees who may not have been able to attend in person, it frequently resulted in a dramatic decrease in engagement. Events that were accustomed to interacting with attendees in-person for three or four days had to settle for one or two hours online.

Our consumers are eager to return to in-person events, as are the attendees. Recent findings from Gartner’s CMO Spend Survey indicate a significant return to event marketing. Following record lows in 2021, marketing budgets as a percentage of company revenue increased from 6.4% to 9.5% in 2022, with Event Marketing & Sponsorship spending the most.

There is something unique about live performances. Our clients excel at creating unforgettable in-person attendee experiences, and we are fortunate to be able to assist in delivering the enchantment of these live events through the use of technology.
