LCD Scribble Strips – Instant Readout

LCD scribble strips grace the top of each channel fader providing an instant visual readout of which track and parameter you are adjusting – totally eliminating old school tape-and-marker labelling.

A Symphony of Lights

With over 92 dedicated illuminated buttons, 8 rotary controls with LED collars, 8-segment LED meters per channel and an LED time code display, the X-TOUCH is a feast for the eyes as well as the hands. Know in brilliant color if a channel is muted or soloed and see how hot the level is pumping as you make changes during recording or mixing. Arm multiple tracks or adjust panning at the same time and marvel at how you ever relied on a mouse to do a controller’s job.

The Feel

Navigation is a breeze with the abundant features on the X-TOUCH’s surface. The large jog/shuttle wheel and tape-style transport controls provide intuitive control over the most used actions in your DAW. Race between fader banks with the touch of a button and make changes with the turn of actual knobs, the movement of real faders or the push of physical, illuminated buttons. It’s like bringing your on-screen DAW controls to life!

    Lo que necesitaba
Se usa con Protools y a veces con Midas en eventos en vivo. Solo cuidar siempre del polvo y traerlos en un buen estuche. Lo tome en oferta hace 2 años y sin problemas.

  2. Christopher Mendoza

    awesome piece of equipment
loved the product, smooth faders, colorful lights and simple to control

  3. Elly

    Obviously used
The media could not be loaded.

This control service was obviously bounced around, used for a while. It works, but I would’ve appreciated some of that information in the description. I’m not gonna give it a bad review, but just be forthcoming in the future, it was missing some of the packaging also.

Yes it’s Behringer, Yes it works great
This thing is heavy. Does not feel plastic or cheap. The faders respond well and have good resolution. You do need to know how to set it up properly so the DAW will receive and transmit back to this. Also some DAWs require a second virtual connection (Ableton) to handle transport controls. This, like the X32, has been around a while and continues to sell because it works well. I have the X32 rack also and they pair wonderfully.

    Buy it now
Buy it, you won’t regret it. Do your homework with your DAW of choice and see what “MCU” support is built in. It handle Mackie and HUI protocols. Your DAW determines how functional this unit or any other control surface incorporates into “Your Daw”. In Logic you can even use it with the plugins, watch videos to understand this. Doing a mix was sooo easy with 8 faders instead of the mouse, adjust levels and pan just like on a real console, with logic, you can use knobs to set parameters on plugins instead of the mouse, able to turn more than one knob at a time, turn a knob mover a fader at the same time ( never happen with a mouse).I use LUNA it ran right out of the box. When used with Logic, you can control plugins by either the fader or knobs. I was able to control UAD plugins, waves plugins and I suspect any others plugins. Small learning curve. But it is so nice to twist a knob, even two at a time, say a la2a you can turn both knobs at same time and dial in quickly.

Works great with Logic Pro – But Not Mainstage
The Behringer X-Touch Universal DAW is a great product for those in a studio that want a physical slider to help mix your recording sessions. Logic Pro recognizes the devices instantly and buttons and functions work as expected. I only give it 4 stars as opposed to 5 because it doesn’t seem that MainStage works with it. While you can use the device in HU mode, it doesn’t quite recognize the device the same way that Logic does. Hopefully Behringer will fix this one day!

  7. Alex

Works very well with Logic Pro X
If you are a Logic Pro X user and want a tactile feel to your controls, this unit will do the job. I like being able to write automation with faders rather than with mouse. Takes a bit of initial setup. It is not a plug and play. But no big deal. Also, you will have to get used to it. At first, it will slow you down. But after a while it will speed you up. Happy mixing! So why 4 stars and not 5? I would love to see better quality faders. These are not awful, but they feel cheap. That is because they are. But it does the job.

Not quite ready to be used as a ‘wing’ for the X18 type headless mixers
The first xTouch that I received had a non-functioning USB port so I could not update the firmware to the required 1.15 version that allowed the device to work with the X18 series mixers. Amazon did a great job of exchanging the device and I was able to update the replacement.Pros:Once you have your gains, EQs, compressors, gates, etc setup via a tablet, this is a decent device to work with. Except for the gain, everything else is very difficult to change, some have 3 pages of settings.I am sort of old school and like to have faders under my fingers, but want the flexibility of walking around FOH to do fine tuning with a tablet. This device allows that. Now for the bad.Cons:ExpensiveOnly has a wired connection. I setup a second router as a WDS device so I could be “wireless” to the console.Any thing you want to change except the gains is difficult to say the least. Need to change an effect, good luck. need to tweak an EQ setting, it is not quick and you need a display if you want a visual.Except for how it will connect to something (wired, USB), you cannot customize the device at all. With the tablet, I can create a layer that I can control what channels are displayed (including DCA’s) and what order I want them in. For example, if you have 4 DCA’s setup, vox, instruments, effects, and drum kit and you are working the 2 main “pages” of faders and now want to do pull the effect out because there is now spoken voice, you have to scroll 4 pages of faders to get to the DCA’s then scroll back to adjust the vox mic because the person speaks from their belly button. This takes time. Some times, a scroll press does not register. More time.Because this device was not designed for being used with the X18 series mixers, there are many buttons that do not work. There are many that are not named appropriately for the function the perform (a scribble strip helps). While it works as a wing for the headless mixers, it needs some serious firmware work to make it joyful to use.

Works great… May need to tweak a few things depending on your DAW
Works great… May need to tweak a few things depending on your DAW Tried it on logic pro X, FL studio, ableton live 11, and reaper. Works the best with Logic Pro X

    DAW companion
Excellent! Helps your workflow when you have to deal with large number of tracks. Price is steep but if you are serious about your work it should be in your studio!
